Thank-you!

I’ve just finished my first week of retirement and I’m adjusting. My wife just had knee replacement surgery and I’ve been keeping busy as the full-time cook, cleaner, sherpa, and chauffeur; I still like this new job better

Cherry Alien Auto and Jungle Lava Auto: Harvest Updates

The Cherry Alien and Jungle Lave autos have both been dried and trimmed and are currently curing in 1 oz. Grove bags, my first time using them.

Both plants were left a day or so too long to dry in the tent and were a little crispier than I would have liked when it came time to trim. I put an ounce of each in a jar to test humidity and RH was about 50%. I put a Boveda 62 pack into each jar and that brought things up to about 60% after a few days. For the stuff I put in the Grove bags, I added a fan leaf to each to raise the RH, as recommended by Grove.

Cherry Alien Auto

The Cherry Alien Auto was a pleasure to grow and fantastic to smoke. Her sweet, kushy goodness hits right in my wheel house.

Absolutely delicious, craveable bud. Lovely kushy flavour with a sweet fruity backend. Packs a good punch but won’t knock you out. Good smoke for creative pursuits or getting stuff done around the house.

I could have taken more care cleaning out the underside of the plant and keeping energy focused to the main colas as I ended up with quite a lot of larf. I harvested 84 grams of lovely bud from the tops, but probably easily had another 120 grams or more of larf that is destined as fodder for hash or the butter machine.

Jungle Lava Auto

The Jungle Lava Auto grew very well and produced some lovely, sweet, cakey flavoured bud.

Smoke is very smooth; diesel with a creamy, birthday cake sweetness. A very nice high, and one of those where you can get lost in your thoughts and quickly lose track of time.

The buds were a little more light and airy than I would have liked, likely due to the fact that I probably pushed the lights a little too hard. Again, I also ended up with a lot of larf (I could have been better with my maintenance and pruning). Along with the 114 grams of trimmed bud, I harvest another 135 grams of trim that will be used for hash or butter.

Jealousy and Pink Rozay: Chop, chop!

Harvested the Jealousy and Pink Rozay after 9 weeks of flower. I hung both plants to dry whole and they should be ready for trimming after 7-10 days.

Smoke report and dry weight to come. Stay tuned. :v:

Jealousy

Tops are thick, tight, and frosty. Although there is bud beneath the canopy that could have benefitted from more time to ripen, it’s time to move on.

Pink Rozay

The Pink Rozay was a pleasure to grow and produced some lovely tight, stacked and sticky buds.

Lots of great looking buds. Nice harvest bud!

How do you like them so far? My last harvest I didn’t quite get to the stem snap, but when I put them in the grove bags the humidity was low like yours, so i did like you and everything seemed ok.

Great job, a lot of frost on those girls.

I just opened a bag of the Jungle Lava this morning and the bud seemed perfect. Very impressed so far.

right on. it makes it easy. You mentioned you have the 1 oz bags. If you get the bigger bags the humidity will drop when you have like 1/4-1/2 a bag left. It might be something to watch with the smaller bags too. I might end up getting some smaller bags to move the buds over when the big bag gets low.

Good to know, thanks. I did get a few 4 oz. bags as well but haven’t had a big enough harvest to use those yet.

Jealousy and Pink Rozay Harvest Update

The Jealousy and Pink Rozay have been dried, trimmed, bagged, and sampled.

Jealousy

Early days but the samples I've had had me craving more - diesel and oranges.

I probably should have waited another week or so before chopping her down to let the bud beneath the tops ripen more. The harvest was modest at 67 grams, but the bud is delicious. There was also a nice amount of trim and larf to add to the hash/butter pile so all good 😊

Pink Rozay

Very happy with the results of this grow. The bud on this plant stacked really nicely and produced 145 grams of very tasty, resin coated weed. Pink Rozay is welcome back in my garden anytime 😃

The early sample has promising flavour; sweet and fruity with a little earthiness. Packs a nice one-two punch to the head and body. Very relaxing stuff.

Winter Garden: Sour Mac, Rude Boy OG, Moonshine Cookies, and White Fire Alien Kush

My next run is underway. I'm usually quite partial to indicas but have thrown a couple of sativa-dominant hybrids into the mix for a change of pace: Sour Mac and Rude Boy OG. I'll of course also have a couple of indica dominant hybrids going: White Fire Alien Kush and Moonshine Cookies.

The seeds were dropped on November 22 and, 10 days later, the seedlings were transplanted into 4" net pots with clay pellets and set in 5-gallon buckets featuring a light mix of Remo nutes:

  • Grow
  • Micro
  • Magnifical

All the seeds germinated and popped fine, but the Moonshine Cookies looked pretty narly coming out of her shell and never got past throwing out her sucker leaves. I popped another bean but that plant is about a week behind the other three. So far, the White Fire Alien Kush is the most enthusiastic out of the gate. We’re about half way into week 3 of veg for most of the plants. I gave them their first rez change yesterday.

Hoping for a successful, trouble free (mostly) run :v:

Happy new year! Finally back with a long overdue update.

Moonshine Cookies & Rude Boy OG

In my 3x3 tent, the Moonshine Cookies (day 45 from seed) and Rude Boy OG (day 54 from seed) are both growing well with no apparent issues.

Being the youngest of the plants, the Moonshine Cookies is, not surprisingly, the smallest of my four plants at about 14" tall currently, but she’s filling out well. The Rude Boy is about 18" tall.

I flipped the lights to 12/12 a week ago and they’re running on a mix of Remo nutrients: 6 ml./gal. of Micro, Magnifical, and Bloom and 1.25 ml/gal. of AstroFlower. EC is running around 1.0 (500 PPM) with no upsetting swings in PH.

Sour Mac & White Fire Alien

In the 40"x40" tent we have the Sour Mac and White Fire Alien. Both plants are at day 54 from seed and I flipped the lights to 12/12 two weeks ago. Both plants are now starting to stretch with flowers just starting to form.

These girls are also running on a mix of Remo nutrients: 7 ml./gal. of Micro, Magnifical, and Bloom and 2.5 ml/gal. of AstroFlower. EC is running around 1.2 (600 PPM) with no unexpected swings in PH.

Making seeds and pollen!

I’ve just ordered some STS spray to try my hand at producing some pollen and seeds. I’m very excited to embark on this experiment and am trying to decide what strain to start things off with; my plan is to start something from seed, take some cuts and then work with the clones. I’ll document my adventures once I get underway.

Thanks for tuning in :v:

they are all nice and healthy. looks like you have your environment and nutes dialed in.

hell yea. awesome. Im excited for you. What strains are you considering? I’d pick something I love smoking and run from there.

Yes, thanks to your tip about the AstroFlower and Magnifical fighting it out. I didn’t introduce AstroFlower until after 2nd week of flower this time around and am using a smaller amount to start. The plants seem much happier with this regime.

Exactly my thinking. I’m going to start with Pink Kush and if all goes to plan, I’ll use the pollen she produces on some Skywalker. I’m very keen to see how this all unfolds. Any advice you have is always welcome.

Excellent!!

I’ve never reversed a plant, so I’ll be following along!
Where did you get the spray from? I’ve seen some on Amazon and some breeders offer it, but it’s not something I see around often.

I wish you all the luck and much success.

Thanks! I ordered the spray off of Amazon - I’m still waiting for it to make its way from San Francisco :upside_down_face:
