I just hope that first of all, those were idle threats from those pos and secondly that South Africa isn’t so corrupt that you can’t recoup in court, however much a pain in the ass that is. Damn, man. I just never understand people like that. I’ve been ripped off on some large jobs in construction and one of the reasons I stopped. fucking people can be so cold.
I hope you didn’t have any issues with the law over your grow. I don’t remember the laws there. Man, that is so opposite of what I expect from people and I just don’t get it.

I’ve played with it a lot (
shut-up, Beavis) but have to say that the best option for a more permanent or “essential business” is rigid panels. The cost is high enough that it prohibits most folks from considering it much(again, I sympathize, not many rich volk here on OG).
The fiber-reinforced products are kind of a 1/2-way improvement, but as @GMan said, the spans have to be annoyingly short unless you can put an incredible amount of tension on it. That has it’s downside too-- then the rips/tears from gusts or flying debris pierces it easily.
Perhaps you could excavate a 1/2 sunken grow? That limits the wind-shear by shortening the exposure. 
As far as the sour dealings with Fly-By-Night, Inc. 
keep your legal counsel in the loop(you know you’re supposed to have one, right? 
) & … cameras. 
More operating cost, irritating hassle, & not-super-useful in court, but may help after 
Scooby & Shaggy

Yeah, 4 foot span sounds much closer to correct. It’s the first thing I noticed. They probably don’t have a clue about load forces and span charts. They probably thought they could save a load of money by leaving lots of hoops out.

Save all of the photos you showed us, and any others. Just in case you need them as documentation in the future. As a contractor, I photographed every aspect of the jobs I did. People get selective amnesia in these situations. It’s nice to be able to present a record of things.
