I will definitely grow them ASAP and, would have already popped them if it wasn’t for my LL’s campaign of harassment
But if a repro occurs before my time, the offer shall remain standing!
@DesertHeartGardens here’s a ssdd repro I know you said you are looking for some. Hope this helps.
Not sure what the TST debacle is, but if I can do anything to help you and @Bobgrows out just let me know!
I could do another open pollination this coming summer.
Also, If you need cuts of the 90’s kush I got a couple big moms of it.
@Bobgrows i am planning to try and reverse @HorseBadorites SSDD cut (I guess it’s a tough one) by injecting silver nitrate. I can also try that method on the 90’s kush and let you know if it works.
I might eventually try cobalt chloride on the SSDD if necessary.
I’m doing the injecting method on the 90’s Kush now.
I’ve had success on a few branches last time. It’s looking promising.
I will post on my thread when i get more information.
TST, top shelf trees, took packs of seeds to do a reproduction, then collected like 1000s of dollars in donations for supplies and then ghosted the forum. He also ripped off a bunch of clones in a group buy, and got desirable packs of other seeds from members under the guise of f2ing them for the community.
Really did a lot of damage to the collective trust here that drives a lot of these reproductions and general spreading of genetics. Everything is laid out in the bag of oranges thread. Not to derail this thread, but I don’t think it should be forgotten, at least not so soon.
I am giving the skunk as that is terrible to hear that someone felt they needed to take advantage of such an incredible community.
I appreciate you stating this information and will check out that thread.
Very excited about these beans! Looking great!
Damn, that’s f-ed up! What a dick! It pisses me off and I wasn’t even involved in any of it.
Like you said, this is such a generous community of growers. Sucks when a couple bad apples spoil the bunch.
Nice to see you were able to make it to the finish line, congrats! Should be fun shucking and sorting all those seeds haha… Any plans on making a seed separator or anything like that, or you just going to do it manually?
I have 4 diff female SSDD F1s going right now and am getting some strong candy sour blueberry terps (not bb muffin) on 2 of them, did you get any of that in your run?
Yeah maybe a bit on a couple of them.
#9, 10 and 11 were all what I’d call the classic SSDD. Very buttered muffin smelling. #9 had some berry to it too. #11 seemed to have more influence from the Appalachia/chem than the others. All 3 smell fantastic.
#1 was really unique compared to the others. Much more kush-like. Had that funky/skunky kush smell. Love, love, love the smell of #1.
Horse’s cut was also very unique compared to the others. Not even sure how to describe the smell. I really liked it though.
#2 had more of an incense thing while it was growing but now it’s smelling different as it dries. More sour fruit, and #4 I’m not as sure on because she was stuck way back in the corner and I had a hard time reaching her. I’ll get a better idea after I start processing seeds. But she smells good.
I plan to post more details on the differences between them all once I finish processing the seeds.
I also have #9, 10, 11 and horse’s cut all back in flower now. So that will be the true test!
I plan to get #1 and #4 in there asap too. Not sure yet on #2. I was just gonna let her go but she smells a lot better now than she did while growing.
Sounds like you got a couple potentially good phenos!
What made you decide to pop your SSDD seeds? I didn’t think you were a big fan of the strain.
Also, I’d still like to send you seeds from this open pollination if you want any, to repay all your kindness to me!
I was planning on putting together a nice package for you, horse and Tykal since this project doesn’t happen without you 3!
Oh, and I thought about trying to make a seed separator.
Anyone have any good plans for one? I’ve seen the ones that have like a column of wooden planks with a shop vac attached, where the seeds tumble down the planks to a bowl at the bottom.
Is there any simpler designs? I’m sure I could probably make that plank style but I’m not exactly the best at carpentry… lol
I’m actually big fan of the ssdd male that Bodhi uses for crosses, but the bubbashine pheno I found just isn’t really compatible with my lifestyle because I have very active dogs. Have 2 Field Trip females and 1 gg4xssdd going too… I really just wanted to explore more of the SSDD pack because it cost more than my first pack did, and would feel like a waste to just sit on it.
Really appreciate the offer but I’m overwhelmed with seeds & want to start going through my triple sunshine chucks. I’m sure there are plenty of people here that would put them to use though! You’ve already paid it forward and spread kindness making this a better place for others so that itself is awesome in my book.
Same, I just use a tray and tilt it but it’s extremely tedious. If you find a simple fix let me know haha.
Here are a couple of chats…
Thanks! Gonna read through them.
The fastest way is to use the big kitty litter jug with the bottom cut out and hole for ur vac in the cap… or similar…

or buy one…

Thanks!
I actually have one of those empty kitty litter jugs laying around.
When he says “once I was done, I used this:”
what was he talking about? The picture is gone now.
I am not fully understanding the concept. What keeps the seeds from being sucked up into the vacuum bin?
I am really tempted to just save up and buy that one on Etsy.
I’ve used the kitty litter jug, the size of the jug only allows the lighter material to go up the vac, the seeds are too heavy to go up that far… I broke dried material up fine in a large square plastic bin and sucked away… Only the good seeds stayed… I even went thru the vacuumed up stuff to check for good seed and none was found… this was for a 100 hemp plant seed run when we were growing large fields… The vac used was not super powerful and had the plastic dump bin, no bags…
edit - only break up a couple of branches at a time, give or take…
this is some of that seed from that run…
Ok cool, thanks for the explanation! That makes sense. I might give this method a try.
I have a small 5 gallon craftsman shop vac. Thats my best option for a vacuum. I wonder if that would be too powerful? I guess I could cut a few slits in the jug (to reduce suction) if it was sucking up good seeds.
The shop vac has a nice steel bin so it would be easy enough to check for seeds and collect the bud shake afterwards since I do want to make hash and/or edibles from it.
Start by holding the jug a bit higher, feather it around, up and down, then find your happy place… Easy Peasy…
@Pigeonman made an overkill version, with video…
