Thank you I appreciate it! Making me feel real lazy with your fancy space cards. I just use some construction paper.

Figured I’d share a pic of the SSDD f1 seedling. This is the most excited I’ve been about a seedling in a Long time. lol

I got a bit nervous that it wasn’t going to grow when it hadn’t emerged from the soil on the 3rd morning since I planted it (after it cracked and sprouted a tap root in the shot glass). So I brushed away some dirt so the top of the seed shell was visible. Then I covered it with a clear drinking glass and put it on a heating mat that I had set to cycle on & off (on for 30mins, off for 90 mins. I don’t have an extra thermostat at the moment). It emerged the next day and it’s been growing great ever since!
So it seems like the seeds have definitely been stored properly @syzygy. They may have lost a tiny bit of vigor sprouting but nothing I’d be overly worried about yet.

Thanks again! I can’t say it enough. You’ve been so awesome to me since I signed up here.

I really want to sprout some of your triple sunshine cross, but these damn thug pug peanut butter breath (f3) still haven’t shown sex. Not a single one! It’s screwing up my timeline here. lol

A few finally have some pre flowers but I’m still not sure if they are male or female.

It looks like a female pre flower but it doesn’t have any white pistils growing out of it. I’ve been fooled in the past by pre flowers like that, where I thought they were female only to find out they were male. I’m also reluctant to say they are female because, at least in my previous experience when a plant takes this long to show sex (and especially when it then shows these hard to identify pre flowers) it seems to end up being male more times than not. It would suck if all of the PBB were male though! lol

Look how tall some of these f-ers are. I know they need to be transplanted but I don’t want to waste a bunch of soil on males, and space in my main veg room is at a premium right now.

The one on the left is on at least its 12th node now.
Annoying. lol

Sorry to clog up your thread with this. I can delete it. I really need to start my own damn grow log thread already. I guess I’ve just been waiting until I have something more interesting to show than veg pics.

Haha that’s awesome, good to see that it’s being put to use! No problem at all though, I really appreciate you germinating some of the seeds as well. Hoping either the SSDD , F2s or both come through for you. If not , the SSDD crosses may be a good place to look. Personally I prefer them over the pure SSDDs that I’ve had.

Not at all, I enjoy it and a lot of people here have the same seeds so someone else I’m sure finds it worthwhile. People can post whatever here, I don’t care. If you do end up starting a thread though please tag me so I can follow!

I have found the plants that show sex later to often be females. Interesting that you have the opposite experience.

Yes, it is interesting! But that gives me hope that these very well may still be female. It certainly looks more like female pre flowers to me than male.

I haven’t paid attention to my experience in that area but have heard those sorts of claims before. I know I’ve had a handful of males take a long time to show though, such as the Goji OG male that I used to make my last round of F2s.

A good odor is starting to come out of the flower area. I’m thinking it’s the blend of Triple Sunshine & Lav jack .

So far around day 30 -

So far Bubba doesn’t have much odor. Looks nice, checked it again today and 0 intersex issues. Really the Triple Sunshine A , G & Lav Jack smell the strongest at the moment. Got a couple shots of the Trip Sun G earlier when watering - it looks a lot frostier in person. Bud structure does not appear to resemble TK very much currently.

Trip Sun G

Also dog pictures from the walk tonight… Still trying to hone my skills with the outdoor natural light shots. Can be challenging trying to make sure the black shepherd muzzle isn’t underexposed while also making sure the highlights aren’t overexposed. Suggestions are welcome if anyone has any tips.

I think it’s just personal preference and some cameras have better dynamic range than others. Digital has so much room to play when shooting RAW that I think exposing to keep the highlight detail you want, then lifting the rest in editing is just fine.

Those shots of the doggos have all the detail needed. Can play with dodging and burning to even out the overall exposure if you really want. Easy to overdo that though.

The SSDD F2’s have taken their sweet old time showing sex for me. So far, females have shown a lot faster than males.

Trip Sun G look sooo good

Thanks for the input, I think I’ve read that suggestion before. That you can fix an underexposed image but not a blown out one and to raise it via masks in post. I suck at anything involving masks and do minimal editing, but maybe later on in the year I’ll delve into GIMP / Darktable a bit more. Only editing I really do on my images is cropping and level adjustment.

Ya, agreed! I still like A more so far, but we’ll see what happens. Interested to see how F turns out as well. F appears way different than A and G to me structurally. A and G are very similar - but so far it looks like G has a bit more leaf frost and more leaves as well. A has a much better calyx to leaf ratio early on and stacks calyxes a bit differently.

Here’s some photo dumps from today - about to take dogs so this is rushed and may edit it later

Lav Jack

No idea if the lav jack / bubba in these pictures are pollinated. I think we’re around 35 days right now so it’s not unheard of to have pistils turn starting now. I checked bubba kush again today and 0 nanners visible. They are also closest to the fan (blowing away from them, not on them) so maybe they are just drying out.

Another beautiful update brotha,
Hope you have a great weekend!

I hope that’s the case for me too with my 3x3 tent. :crossed_fingers:

Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about it, that always happens on my plants right around day 35, but they’re never actually seeded. And I still freak out about it every. Single. Time. Haha…

Love those lav jacks.

Great pics.

The Lav Jack (NN cut) always has pistils that start turning bright orange around day 28-30, I definitely wouldn’t worry about it. They’ll all be orange by the end. Similarly the Bubba Kush looks done at day 50 or so, so I wouldn’t worry too much there either. I think the Bubba probably needs to go until 60-62 days for the full effect, maybe even a little longer. Every thing looking great! Somehow the clone fairy made it out to Oregon, they even left these sweet labels to go with the plants

I took the bubba to 70 and she lost some of the flavor/scent she had earlier. So i’d also say somewhere in that 60-63 day range. Clones looking good ^^

Thanks! Very excited to see what you find in your current run & what you think of the various B F1s.

Haha… Thanks, I’m not worrying about it over here though. If they got seeded then it is what it is, don’t really care. I definitely didn’t intentionally seed them though and took a lot of steps to make sure I was deactivating the pollen on the pollinated plants.

Thanks!

Good to know! I checked my “Sativa” lav jack pictures in my older thread earlier and noticed the pistils changed early on that one as well.

Excited for them to make it through quarantine in the future! Looking forward to your tests and opinion on them. F is still an unknown here so can’t comment on that one but I think it’s safe to say TS A is probably in my top 3 favorites from B so far. Space Monkey pine , Sun Ra cedar & TS-A in no particular order.

I’m hyped to compare it to the TK in the coming month/s.

My bubba really doesn’t have much of a smell yet. Seems like a decent enough plant though and appears happy in a 1 GAL pot. Nice and unique look to the buds for sure.

Could also be that it’s not getting a ton of light where it is as well. I know you are aware of all the disclaimers but just for anyone else reading this don’t take any of my commentary on these cuts as truths - just first impression and observation/opinions.

I will say I’m not a fan at all of the C91 plant. The flowers could completely blow me away and I’ll still hold that opinion. Not saying it is or isn’t worth having or growing, just that I don’t like the plant.

Pinesoul is surprising me and is easy going in the 7 gal pot. I said earlier in the thread that it appeared sensitive - and it does appear to not like being root constricted. I think @ramblinrose advice about avoiding excesses in fertility was a good call. In the tent it actually looks pretty healthy and has nice trichome coverage. Reminds me a lot of my Goji F1 mom that I used to make F2s, only it has more frost and slightly different flower shape. Same smell for sure though. I like the flower traits on this plant more than my old F1.

TK is the hardest plant for me to really inspect where it is in the tent (back right corner). Seeing IAY’s pictures of a well grown TK plant lets me know if I can keep it healthy it has quite attractive plant traits. Currently it doesn’t smell very strong.

Lav Jack smells pretty similar to my sativa lav jack, but not quite as strong from what I remember. It looks like it’s going to produce very large buds and it’s really hard to get a picture to demonstrate that. Seems like it would be impossible to get the top into a 1 QT mason jar without cutting it into smaller buds. It is nice and frosty for sure. I like it and it has spread around locally. A few people seemed pretty interested in it.

Triple Sunshine G smells pretty strong and is frosty for sure.

Sunshine Daydream mom smells fairly strong but I’m still glad this one is retired. Was never a big fan of it so hard to justify keeping it around.

I’m writing all this down mostly for me to look back when my opinions inevitably change later on. I find it helpful for multiple reasons.

They’re here! Thank you @syzygy. I think I can get to these this year. Maybe when I run the black triangle.

Awesome, that was fast! Thanks for letting me know. Offer is still up for anyone else in this thread - think I have 1 or 2 cards left.

Also thinking about throwing out the Irene that I moved to flower and replacing it with a better cutting. I have a spare that looks a lot better. Will decide that later when I inspect it tonight (if I have time).

Took 4 clones each off of the SSDD f2 #1 and 2 today. #3 still needs a bit more time before I take clones.

#1 is still the biggest. But #2 has a noticeably stronger smell on a stem rub.

#1 might end up in flower a bit sooner than I planned. We’ll see… I’d say definitely within the next 2 weeks though. And #2 shouldn’t be too far behind (2-3 weeks at most I’d say).

I’ll get more pics next time for sure.

Also, I just got a tester pack of seeds from cannavore and put 5 into water. I had already promised him I’d do that before I got your triple sunshine @syzygy but yours are next on deck. I’m hoping to at least get a few going soon. I need to cull a bunch of extra clones I have going in soil so that’ll hopefully make enough space to get some of yours going too.

Yeah I wish I had taken a cutting of one of those ssdd f2’s I grew out… really good medicine. It didn’t smell much during flower ( my fault I’m sure… I did a poor job that run lol ) but it cured out nicely and is pretty potent. Hoping to find that pheno again when I pop the rest
