Tents full of happiness and love ft. Bodhi and friends

Actually freezer works better.

Yeah typically I vape the BT at night, usually after dinner… it definitely does not make me want to get up and do things, but it doesn’t make me feel stupid either, like it’s not numbing me to the world. If I was a better practitioner of meditation, I think it’d be good for that. Good for looking inside yourself, or ya know just chillin’, watching a movie and picking up on nuances you wouldn’t otherwise.

I threw a thermometer in the fridge… my guess is somewhere around 38-43 degrees… I’ll let ya know for sure. A wine fridge would probably be fine, at least to help prolong the life a little bit. This is the first time I’ve tried it, so just playing around really.

Outta room in the freezer… filled with smalls for bubble, and my girl is already mad she can’t fit her smoothie stuff in there. Does the freezer work better for long term storage? Might try it at some point.

Mine always stays in a freezer once a week or so I’ll go in pull out what I want, leave the rest in there.
The more ya handle the more the trichs will fall.
But that’s actually how I make my hash also.

Nice, ill have to try it that way.

Do you make your hash just from the knocked off trichs, in your jars or bags? or process the buds thru bags?

Out of the bud bags, my sugar leaf, seeded bud material after beans are out.

I just throw it all into the freezer in a hvy duty zip lock.
I’ll go down once a day take it out of the freezer and shake rattle and roll it.
Throw back in the freezer then when everything is broken up pretty good I whip out the dry seive screen and do it up.

I’ll have to get some dry screens at some point. this is obviously pretty contaminated, it’s just from trim bin, but like the way it smokes.

Looks pretty great compared to the green dust storm I whipped up!

I love the trim bin smoke. Yes not clean but very flavorful and once it melts and bubbles :yum:

Yeah, the trim bin stuff is definitely full melt and super tasty, more so than water hash. I like to watch it all melt together and bubble… you definitely need a little finesse to smoke it :stuck_out_tongue:

Turning off the light for the last time in this space tonight. It’s been an awesome run here, a few hiccups along the way, but that’s where I learned the most. Very grateful to have had this space to learn as much as I have about growing. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Had this Goji OG going since 2017, one of the first Bodhi seeds I popped, I think. Flowered out the mom… pretty sad looking, I just threw it in a bigger pot and let her fly. Not even sure what day flowering she is on anymore, probably 80-90days. She looks pretty done, but I think I tend to like my plants over done. Some fox tailing… Strong OG and berry smell. The high tends to zip me to the moon, clear-headed at first, then brings me back down pretty gently. Leaves me a little tired most of the time. Been a fun run with her though!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun long holiday weekend! :peace_symbol:

Onward and upward, brother…

Cheers to that! The only way is up

That Goji looks pretty frosty, though. So that plant has just been vegging for four years? And you finally flowered her? That’s pretty awesome. I think haha.

I think it’s actually a clone of a clone of the original plant, but yeah that mom was probably going for like 2 or three years. She did come out super frosty this time, haha, maybe from all that stress of being root bound and in a small pot all this time :man_shrugging: I sent out a cut of her somewhere, maybe she’ll come back around?

She’s a good looking beauty :fire::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I really hope you got a cut saved somewhere of her!

Don’t loose that :pray::pray:

Looking forward to your next chapter as well
Good luck with the move.
That Goji is looking all too proper. Well done

Useful Seeds - Black Lime Special Reserve F4

I popped a 10 pack of seeds, got 4 girls, 3 boys and 1 started then rotted, and 2 failed to germ. Fairly easy growing plants, kind of slow in veg, but sped up in flower. All plants grown in coco with canna a and b. Tossed the males and grew all the girls un-topped. I stated earlier, but think I’m going to start topping everything, as I don’t really like the massive colas… but I think that may change anyways, with a change in my growing style. I heard nspecta talk about just tossing all your seed plants and only running the clones, especially if your running for production, as it’s better to see how the clone performs, as that is what you’d actually be using. I dunno, I like seed plants, they always seem stronger and tougher, but I’m always open to trying something new. Anyways, Black Lime… all 4 girls went to day 77-78 flower. I feel like that’s kinda long, but almost feel like they could have gone longer. Again, I think a change in my growing style may speed up finishing times, switching back to organics may help them senesce faster. They were pretty sturdy through flower and all yielded pretty nicely. They could’ve used some support near the end of flower as the buds just got too heavy for the stems. Two of the plants did pop some late nanners, but no big deal, no time to pollinate. I dusted all of them with some Black Triangle pollen, but so far no seeds… bummer. Chopped, then dried for about 12 days and then bagged and trimmed.

Smell/Taste/Resin/Bag Appeal

All the plants had a lime rind/zest to them, varying from sweeter key lime, to more lime pith. Two plants had a nice diesel/oil smell mixed in with the lime. After drying and cure, one plant pretty much lost it’s smell entirely. Two others smell more on the sweeter end of the lime spectrum, but no funk there, very mild, more just a light citrus. One came out spectacular, super funk diesel-y lime peel when you pop the jar. The taste of that one translates well to the smoke, the others not so much. There’s some sour lime-y taste there, but more muted, kind of dry smoke. The funky one tastes good, citrusy smoke, mostly smooth on the exhale, slight sharpness to it… The resin was really greasy on all 4 girls, some have a little more coverage than others. It would make your fingers slick at first, then tacky. The bud shape and overall appeal is good on three of them, the forth that lost it’s smell, is kind of air-y/loose, would be hard to sell in commercial market. Buds are not super dense at all, though they have a nice density that’s almost Styrofoam-y, easy to break up and smoke if you don’t have a grinder.

Effects/Longevity

I have been sampling the funky lime/diesel pheno only. It’d be the keeper out of the pack for sure. It has the best smell, bag appeal, and high. I’m tending to find the stankier buds and give a better high, which make sense to me being that there is probably a higher terpene content. Not true in every case, I know… but true in this case. The high on this one is real nice. It’s not super stoney, and doesn’t send my brain to space. It consistently puts me in a good mood, makes my body feel good, but not in a euphoric drug type of way, just makes everything feel right. I’ve noticed this pheno in particular lowers my anxiety levels greatly. I’m not a super anxious person by default, but I do have bouts of anxiety, like when meeting new people or going to new places sometimes. This bud seems to calm my nerves, and helps me ground myself. I can remain clear headed with no cloudiness on the comedown. I don’t feel sleepy after the effects wear off, probably lasting somewhere around 2 hours for me. My tolerance is fairly high, so always keep that in mind. Pretty nicely balanced hybrid type high.

Overall Thoughts

I’d say overall… pretty… pretty, good (cue Larry David voice). My standard is that I should find at least one pretty good plant, or a plant I would run again, in a pack of ten. I did in this case. I can’t say if I would keep it around forever, still forming a final opinion on the smoke and that changes the more I vape it. But the high is very good. I think I’d be pissed if I paid $500 or whatever Aficionado charged for the original Black Lime Special Reserve, but definitely worthy of $50 from Useful Seeds’ reproduction of the line. Are the original F1 of the line better than the F4’s I grew? Who knows… just glad I found some good happy-time smoke

Looks good. Maybe not quite as good as the Pura Vida or the Black Triangle, but good enough.

I’m with you on that, their prices are ridiculous. Still waiting for them to release something I’m interested in, though, so I can do my revenge seed run haha… It will happen. Oh, yes, it will happen…

I’d say that’s pretty good assessment. The BT and the PV both have stronger and more interesting smells I think. I can’t say that the high is better or worse on any of them though, just different effects.

We should get a little group buy going and pitch in and buy and pack of Aficionado just to spread around to all us OGers. If only they’d release something good … :joy:

For the money, I’ve found Bodhi is really tough to beat.

I’m pretty sure I told you the Aficionado story, right? I’m gonna buy a pack or two at some point and do exactly that, just waiting on them to release something that sounds good. I’m not buying a pack of anything that’s GSC-related and that’s all they’ve been putting out lately, so… But yeah, I was already planning on f2’ing everything and giving it to anybody who wanted the seeds. And letting Aficionado know all about it on their IG haha. I swear I’m really not this vindictive or whatever, but they piss me the fuck off. Everything that’s wrong with the seed business…

I agree. All I ever grew was Bodhi gear until two grows ago, so I really didn’t have a frame of reference. But now that I’ve tried a few other people’s seeds, it’s obvious how much better Bodhi’s stuff is than most people’s.

Except for that fucking Purple NL2 haha!
