Tents full of happiness and love ft. Bodhi and friends

Those plants from the 4x4 turned out great, man! Looks like a nice haul on both the Goji and the BT under the big light! lol total BT Dongs. Also that Polynesian Thin Mint looks gorgeous, but I agree cookies is all bark and no bite.

How old are the ladies in the nube tent? I guess you flipped them by now. How you liking that Mars SP250?

Thank you! The genetics and plants do all the work

Yay for BT dongs :cucumber: :sunglasses:

It’s really a shame that every cookie cross I’ve tried so far has just been nothing special. Don’t get me wrong, taste and bag appeal are off the charts, but really nothing else.

The PV’s are about 30 days from seed, maybe a little under. The Dank Sinatras are a little older, 6 weeks or so. I flipped them a few days ago. Still have the males, but unfortunately won’t have the space to keep them this round.

I’ve been pretty impressed with the SP250 so far. I like how it is very wide and covers the 2 x 4 space perfect. I also like how the driver is removable, so I took it off and put it outside the tent. Also, it has a semi water proof covering on the LEDs. Last round in that tent I had GMO, Hazmat OG, and SSDD. The GMO and Hazmat stretched everywhere and I had to get creative with raising the light and breaking/bending branches to get every thing to fit. Yield was still decent, but really happy to have some smaller/shorter plants in there this run. I think the “quantum board” style of LEDs definitely produce better if you can have a nice even canopy and get even penetration through out.

Amen, man. Amen. Those good vibes from the bodhis are conveyed in the seeds they produce. :sun_with_face:

Thanks for the birthdates. They’re tiny for sure, but that one DS looks bushy. Was that the only one that was topped? Looks like the rest were untopped which makes sense cuz they’re so young. I’d fully expect the PV to stretch far more than DS.

The SP250 looks like a hybrid between strips and boards. It’s a nice compromise. It has a really big blue spike which should keep the plants shorter than the Timber Redwood you have in the 4x4 (what’s its color temp? 3000K?). That’s a double-edged sword - great for stretchy strains, but your squatty DS will prolly need a lot of defoliation and may not make it to the screen. It’s been theorized that the stretch after flip is impacted a lot more by genetics than by the spectral distribution of the light source.

I totally agree that strips and boards really benefit from having a flat canopy. Boards are a little more concentrated light source, so the great thing about strips when you position them equally across the canopy is that they spread out the light sources so much that shadows are reduced, actually creating more photon “penetration” below the top canopy. Research has now proven that shadows prevent penetration of all but green and far red photons - those are the only color photons that have any chance (about a 1-in-4) of penetrating thru a leaf. So more concentrated light sources that create more shadows actually result in less penetration than distributed light sources with fewer shadows. When comparing equal PAR output light sources, that whole “hang it high and let it fly” theory from bulb users doesn’t work nearly as well for buds below the top canopy as strips in a small enclosed space.

If the Mars PAR maps are to be believed, it puts out a good amount of photons when mounted at 12". After stretch is over, it looks like keeping it at around a foot above the canopy is going to make sure you don’t lose too many photons on the walls (which eat about 15% of all photons that hit them, in the best of cases). How high do you normally run it?

Yeah one of the DS is topped, the other is un-topped. The more compact is un-topped, here is a better view of her.

I’ve already removed some of the bigger fan leaves on her to try and open her up a bit, but definitely going to be a short and squat one. But yield not important really on this, really interested in effects.

Here’s her sister for comparison:

The Timber is 3500k, so slightly more blue, a nice balance though. The SP250 is definately putting out more blue thou, I can tell just by looking at both. I’ve only had one round really under the SP, so I’ll have a better picture after this round. So far the plants have stayed short and manageable. Last round with the GMO, I noticed it got much more foxtail-y under the SP compared to the Timber. Also, more purples came out. That run, the light was max height (5ft) and the hazmat and GMO were practically touching the light though. Not ideal… but it was my own fucking fault. I had a timer error and was basically running a 12/12 cycle but my lights were coming on for 2 hours in the middle of dark cycle and I didn’t catch it for about a month :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:. So for anyone wondering if the gaslight veg method works, it does! haha my plants were huge by the time I caught it and had to cut every thing to below the screen and correct the timer. Too late, the plants had too much energy and root mass and just overgrew everything… lesson learned!

For sure, the flatter, more even canopy you can get, it is going to be the best with distributed LED strips. My best run under the timber so far was a mono crop of SSDD, 4 clones in 7 gallons in the 4 x 4. Since all the plants were exactly the same and I trained them really well, the yield was just great. Monocropping is boring though :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I know we’re talking COBs versus strips here, but I agree that having more points of light seems to be the way to go.

If I were to ever to have the chance or space to build out a room I would probably go the DIY distributed LED strip route, much like @ReikoX 's build out. His new room is pretty inspirational. Having greater control over the LED spectrum would be fun to play with.

The Dank Sinatra’s and Pura Vida’s are trucking right along. One of the ones I originally thought may be male was a girl, so I’ll have four Pura Vida’s to sample

Dank Sinatra on the left putting on some early frost!

I may try and lower the Sp just a little more, but the plants seem happy where it is. I’ve just been hand watering until about 5-10% run off every day. Temps are good in the tent, and finally the weather is changing so I won’t have to fight the heat so much. I only like the winter because it helps control the temps in the tents

Also, I popped some Purple Wookie v2s, but I think I fucked them up putting them in root riots, only 4 survived, the rest rotted or couldn’t get out of their shell. Of the four the survived, one was a runt and funky looking, but it is growing out of that now. All 11 of the PWv2’s did pop tails after 24-48 hour soak, so I think it was grower error. I’ll be using organic seed starter mix from now on. The Atonic x Apollo 13’s and Goji x BT were started in the new mix and I didn’t have any issues. One of the Goji x BT’s did die randomly, due to damping off or an infection of some kind, shortly after transplant to coco. All the new starts will probably go in the big tent after they grow up and I sex them.

Oh yeah… so apparently the BT pollen went wild in the tent, so I’ll have a thousand or so BT f2’s… I was thinking of donating them to this site some how? Is that possible?

Aw sadness for your Purple Wookies  least you got some out of it :crossed_fingers:

If you want to donate, could either setup a wiki coop page here for it and do sign-ups, or get a hold of @Sebring as he runs a site for donating seed packs directly.

Looking good in there! I see the Pura Vida F2 are stretching out of control, and I’m glad to hear you found another female! Everything looks happy and healthy. I’m sorry to hear about the lost seedlings; perhaps some of us can make it up to you.

As for the BT F2 seeds, I think @HolyAngel said it best. PM Sebring, or you might also consider contacting Headie Gardens and seeing if he wants some extras to give away with purchases of bodhi and strayfox packs. You never know. Either way, I’d suggest doing a germ test before you send them out.

Yeah, always a nice surprise to get an extra female! Two of the Pura Vida’s are really stretching, the other two are not too bad… no worries on the seedlings, sucks to lose them, but that just means I get to plant more

Definitely planning a germ test on the BT f2’s. I’ve reached out to Sebring and arranged something with him, so once they are all shucked and tested, I’ll be sending them his way.

Update on the @nube tent… Dank Sinatra 1 on the left is filling out nicely! Starting feeding a little PK13/14 to her this week and will feed through the next week or so. Dank Sinatra 2 in the middle is sooo dense… I left her un-topped, but with the right training it could be a killer plant. Excited to see how she finishes. Two of the Pura Vida’s really wanted to touch the light, so I had to bend 'em over. They recovered quick, without missing a beat. They are already starting to frost up and get some nice odors.

Purple Wookie V2’s looking happy in big tent and a OG Ghost Train Haze 1 in the back right. Gonna have to get that one under control, she likes to stretch 4x and has monster buds.

Changed around the fan situation in the big tent too, added a big box fan right over the timber tor more even cooling. Moved a smaller fan under the canopy for circulatation underneath.

Everything looking tip top. I preferred the smaller DS that were very blue/green like that one. Seemed more Affie in expression, best potency of the bunch.

Everything else looks like they’re eating you out of house and home, but that tiny one looks perfectly content. I’m surprised the PV stretched that much with the big blue spike in your lights, but 2/4 moms were pretty stretchy and 4/5 dads were as well. You’re no stranger to stretchers, tho! lol

Keep on keeping on! :+1:

Everything looks nice and bushy, except for that one Ghost Train Haze. Which is interesting. I’m growing some Starkiller and Moonshine Haze, first time ever growing Rare Dankness, and they all look pretty similar to your Ghost Train. Must have something to do with that RD male they use…

Yeah I grew a whole pack of GTH and most phenos were 2-3x stretchers, so maybe the Neville’s wreck dad would bring that, but not really sure. My GTH keeper is pretty hazy, big buds that are more on the airy side. Great taste and high, citrus-y and sweet. The Moonshine Haze looks good and Starkiller too, hope the grow goes well for you, I’ll be following along.

Ghost Train Haze Budshot

Ghost Train Haze keeper in the back, barely being contained, haha… buds are about the size of a soda can.

Holy crap how did I miss this beauty of a grow! Wow, just wow, beautiful plants you have grown! What is that purple beauty in the bottom left of that last pic?!?

Awesome! I use to grow a c99 cross back in the day, then I lost all my mothers and stoped growing when my partner got busted. I just last week tasted it again for the first time in 12+ years, wow the feeling from smelling something familiar after so long.

Thank you! I unfortunately never got to try the original C99 release so I have no frame of reference to compare the re-release to the original. The re-release beans I grew were fast finishers (55-60days), smelled like overripe or rotting pineapples. I actually just sent Sebring some of those C99 crosses and S1s, but the crosses and s1’s are mixed together so they would be best for people just starting wanting some fem beans. I do have a few C99 s1’s if ya want any, PM me.

The purple plant in the bottom left is Archive’s Polynesian Thin Mint. There’s another pic a few post above of the buds.

I did see that, didn’t make the connection lol. I had clone of a c99 cross, don’t remeber what else was in it lol. But the smell and bud structure of the c99 we got from a dispensary was just as I remembered it lol.

So I have to ask, the thin mint, did it turn purple like that due to temp? was it dark like that through veg? Have you grown it before and we’re others that color?

It seems to turn dark purple no matter the temp. The buds don’t really get purple, just the fan and sugar leaves. I’ve had this plant from seed since 2017, so I’ve grown it out quite a bit. The purpling doesn’t really start until it reaches the end… and I know there is so much debate, but I lower my nutrient levels the last week or two and it really makes the leaves turn colors.

Black Triangle after a month or so cure. This is Pheno #5. Great nose to it, smelled up the room when I took these buds out for the shot. The high is really nice and relaxing, no anxiety at all. Smoke is heavy, I think all the 88hp/g13 plants I’ve tried so far have had a similar quality to the smoke, where it just feels thick on the exhale. Hope you guys can find some great plants in the F2’s that Sebring just released.

Many thanks to Sebring for getting them out to the world!

edit: and of course many thanks to Bodhi for making them in the first place :star_struck:

Big Tent Update:

Two of the Purple Wookie V2 I thought were girls turned out to be boys… sometimes those preflowers can look weird especially on different strains :upside_down_face:

Crowded in there now. Up front from left to right, Black Triangle #5, Black Triangle #3, Purple Wookie v2. Straight back through the middle there are three Atonic x Apollo 13 f4’s that are girls. Back right corner is GTH, that I’ve been hacking away at. Back left corner is 3 x Goji OG #4 x Black Triangle crosses, all un-sexed still. Hoping they are not all girls, cuz I am definitely gonna run outta room!

You are so right about the GHash crosses, they really do all smoke very similarly. I’ve grown three different crosses of B’s with the 88G13/HP dad and the high on all of them is nearly identical (which is not a bad thing at all). The only differences I’ve noticed are in the smells/flavors of the finished flowers. But the high is pretty much the same on all of them. Again, that’s not a bad thing haha. It’s a pretty great buzz.

That Black Triangle looks really fucking good, though. Very frosty. Pretty stoked I have a pack (two packs?) of that. How does yours taste?
