Terpenes and vaping temps

Been enjoying it! Was a small learning curve. Gets me baked though!

Weird theres a band missing in the pic. Not like that…weird…

Glad your enjoying it. Ive been using my extreme Q for about 18 months and I’m still working on dialing it in. Enjoy!

Anyone notice smoking bowls after tastes meh? Ive been vaping for a few weeks now and tried smoking a bowl and my bowl isnt clean or anything but it tasted like I scraped resin from the inside and smoked it.

Now I just have a nasty taste in my throat lol.

Definitely never going back to smoking

Flicker from the leds I bet, just that little bit didn’t line up with the camera exposure. Fast enough our eyes don’t see it though.

Got DDaveMod and it lowers the bowl so it’s closer to the heat source. The digitally displayed temp would match the air temp and not necessarily the temp of the flower in the bowl. I then lowered my temps to 230 C (446 F) I still have to wait a bit it to draw any clouds. Any higher and I get the toasted popcorn taste if it is bagged.

I will try lowering the temp and have a non-contact thermometer to take some readings of bowl temps as well.

I tried my pipe last night after 2 weeks of vaping, I forgot to re charge the vape :frowning: I thought the same, I didn’t like the burnt taste anymore from the pipe.

I still burn joints and am trying to wean off…I use the bong occasionally. It can take both water and ice. It’s not too bad but I find myself doing single tokes and just flaming the terps and leaving a lot of trash in the bowl that I would have flamed in the past

Yeah once you go vape, you irk the idea of combustion.

Here’s the terp boiling point

From this chart, looks like 388f for unlocking all terp profiles

I bought a POTV One during the 4/20 sale this year. So far, so good. I love the portability of it. I will set it (and my Arizer EQ) to 388f and see if I enjoy the benefits of that temp. Great chart above. Thank you @Syn

There are probablyover 100 terp profiles that we dont know much about in how they work or the temps they unlock at. The chart shows the most common ones.

That is a mighty big rabbit hole to go down. I don’t want to jump in too deep, just get a basic understanding of it so I can reap the most benefits from my vape session. It’s pretty fascinating subject!

I found when vaping it’s always better to aim higher than 388 because of temp fluctuation.

usually 395 or 400 i aim for.

but i always go back and revape already vaped material at higher temps.

start at 385, then 400, then 420.

each time regrinding before filling a bag.

LOL! I think both of my machines came pre-set to 395f ( gee, think they know something there?)

Do you find that when you raise your temp to re-vape, the flavor taste worse with each temp bump?
I only use it once, then dump and save to make some hand salve.

oh yeah, but you get everything the plant has to offer without burning it. Its also harsher at higher temp, but I like to use everything i can then i make butter with the left overs, and i reuse my vape bags to make a roast or something in the oven, which pulls the resin off the bag and puts it on the food. (the volcano bags are oven bags)
