I watched him when he first showed up and his posts were interesting. He showed a dogged persistence with some trials and setbacks but he adjusted and motored ahead.
When he indicated that he had succeeded in nailing the pine and potency he remembered, I knew I needed to check that out, and here we are…
Absolutely amazing! Brother you’ve earned cover for Double CripXmas listing. The 2nd pic is Xmas Bud, so get ready to enjoy a pheno of it. I hope you’ll do me a solid for a review under the listing after smoke is ready. This helps considerably to know the seed is worth it… I believe I do see an A that looks like @Greenfingers plant. So what’s is your finishing time ? Or you want me wait for your full report to see ? a grand slam slam is what this grow has been
Well, I suspected a couple grows back I was seeing some TMV effects on sprouts and that lead to some research and I added stuff I knew (ultrasonic cleaners) to research paper conclusions and I started zapping all my beans.
It’s not a cure-all for everything but it cleans the outside and softens the shell slightly.
If they aren’t my beans I don’t know what they’ve been through.
We all have been frightened by the possibilities of something nasty getting into our grows.
Honestly I love the idea. It instantly stopped me in my tracks. I’m pretty big on being as sterile as possible so a start like that is something I’m definitely interested in. If nothing else it’ll be good fun.
I’m gonna have to grab one now. Thanks for the cool idea @Gpaw haha
Those cavitation bubbles pack a lot of energy when they implode, like micro depth charges. They are relentless.
The ultra sonic tanks are ‘cheap as chips’ as a buddy used to say (compared to when I was younger…).
When your wife sees what it will do for her jewelry…
I had to ‘lobby’ my boss to get one back in 1991. The cheapest decent one was $600US, maybe equivalent to 2,500~3K today. We needed it to rehabilitate these alpha radiation sensors we were using to build Radon gas monitoring equipment…
I think I said …sometimes I talk funny…
It’s really just a lack of context…
Familiar with ultrasonics from time in body modification. Great little machines. Been considering one to speed-clean trimming gear, but seed disinfection and softening is a bonus I hadn’t thought of, either.
Good call, y’all. I think I even saw one at Harbor Freight the other day.
Lookin’ great in here, as usual, @Gpaw . Mmmmn… Pine terps. Always a welcome smoke.
Stay up
Coffin_Dodger
It’s been drying at 60% RH for a week and getting close to ‘jar time’.
So I snuck a small bud for sampling…
You know… A Quality Control sample…
OK, Tampa Crippy is definitely a 'pine’, I’d say it reminded me most of a mentholated pine or pine/turpentine flavour.
She’s a sticky one, a ‘grinder gunker’ for sure… Surprisingly smooth for a 7 day cure… Nice high, mostly ‘headspace’. Great gaming weed.
In other news, CrippyXmas A2 x BX2, #3 plant is going weird…
She popped a couple late flower ‘nanners’ (not totally unexpected) but the more interesting thing is there appears to be a single seed at the apex of 3~4 buds…
I suspect they are not real but I haven’t squished them yet to check. There doesn’t appear to be other seeds in the buds but time will tell…
The balance will be down shortly.
There is something subtly odd about these girls, their trichome development seems to be slightly out of sync with the plant’s development.
They motored through Flower at full throttle and are all hitting senescence but the trichomes are progressing… slower?
I’m seeing 70% clear, 25% cloudy, <5% amber and slow to change…
I gave them more time because I’d like to see the clear/cloudy numbers reverse but the message I’m getting is Porky Pig’s “That’s all folks”
I can’t add anything because of how precise this is said
Yeah the rouges can and do happen, but these late ones are a day late and dollar shot. If it’s deeper in the center there can be a mature seed, but most white hollows.
That is odd. It’s usually accelerated on a day to day basis in the ratios. Amber hits faster at the 48 mark, but they keep developing until harvesting too. Especially the lowers keep packing until you harvest. Anyway she is a mutant plant so it’s difficult to compare with normal patterns
It’s probably something about my grow.
It is subtle, I checked for a week before I decided it was real.
I know most folks like a lot more amber but I like the early trippy weed so this is perfect for me.
My kids are ‘lightweights’ and will probably find it a bit much for them
(more for me!.. )
