The Central American landrace and heirloom thread (Part 3)

Thank you for the kind words, I am well pleased how that reproduction turned out. It is something I will do again no doubt but not this winter that’s for sure. Believe it or not I’m STILL shucking seeds from it, as I smoke it. I have a 10” diameter Dutch cookie tin with 2 inches of seed in it. Going to start some this winter for smoke and grow them right.

Thank YOU for growing some out and sharing with everyone. Does my heart good to see them and know how pleased you are with them.

I find it interesting how popular the seed seems to be yet nobody is growing them out. It is a time commitment to be sure. And it ain’t that easy to grow as you have discovered, especially indoors.

I’m baffled …when we done the sign up it was full and eventually more were added.

I was happy and as you know I followed your grow relentlessly to see how they were coming on, noticing what difference’s were from other Sativa strains.

CORINTO Is a special plant, with a lot of culture in the Corinto area connected to this plant grown in black volcanic soil.
I offered up my limited knowledge of the plant after a visit to Santiago de Cali.

The Colombian Gold has been bred to death, the Red Point is going the same way.would hate to see Corinto going the same way.( I don’t even think it should be crossed…it’s a piece of History.

I as a Overgrower believe like a lot of us…We believe in preservation , especially these special strains.

TLT was selling them at $200 for 10

What a win we got with the amount of seeds you distributed…ye I thought we would have seen more folks taking a grow on.
It’s a brilliant experience , Totally different from The Colombian Gold and Punta Roja…

The best thing me and you @GREANDAL can do is find a cannabis convention in Colombia, and visit and give some of those seeds to Enthusiasts in there home country.

I’d grow it. I like having a long-flowering plant in the tent. They usually get stuck in a corner and ignored as a harvest possibility for a long time to help with patience as I’m not that patient about harvests.

Exactly….you would do a grand job of them …they veg no problem , flowering is long but worth it…The smoke is of the scale…very social weed, smiles abound.

I veg 13- 15 weeks as TLT…my next veg I be lowering that to ten, I think that would be ok…but wouldn’t go below that.

Smashing plant to grow Rasterman…ain’t so difficult…the climate here at moment slowed the flowering …but a nice crop and one still getting on with it.

I’m sure you would do it credit…Seing some of your past grows here.

Good luck

Happy to send you some! Sorry I was busy and didn’t see this until now. No need for anyone to surrender their pack when I have enough for birdseed!

Just the same, it’s very OG of you to offer @MissinBissin!

I don’t mean to scare anyone away by saying it’s not easy to grow. They grow like weeds when they get what they want, one just has to figure that out. Perhaps I should just say it’s not a beginner’s plant.

A word of warning for anyone attempting to grow Corinto strictly outside like here near 33 lat. I started mine 4/18/24. Started flowering on 9/1-that’s 19 weeks in veg. Now in week 7 of flower. I may finish before the end of December.

Sounds like a fun plant to learn a thing or two with! I’m digging growing these long flower sativas. I’ve only had a couple that put out good smoke but it’s the journey not the ending I enjoy more… Almost :rofl:. I was thinking I need to drop some Malawi .

Great looking plants. @Panamajock killing those cornitos! Thought you had chopped all but one that won’t quit nice. Well done.

@Panamajock Here ya go! 2 of the 5. A flower closeup and both. Big one is now 4’9"

There are 3 more columnar ones. Where he grows I bet frost is starting. Just checked NOAA, Saturday he will have 30 degrees at night. Here, today it is 85 degrees day and 55 at night.

The plant to the left of the tall Corinto is a Huixtepec. 2 others I took at 15 wks. This one shown has 17 wks in flower and no tricomes showing yet.
