Dang man that sucks. I figured they’d grind them up and test them the same :-/
@Principante8 how can I contact you off this,? If your okay to be on my team. Cuz you can clearly tell hlv from a photo. Your someone good asfuck to know. Your knowledge would have been useful when I was growing those stupid things. Plus the way you talk is like a nice guy, you actually gave Greg a chance with his company and you did 3 times for that matter and you were not talking mean at all you gotta be a nice guy and your careful about what you say. Let me know how to reach you, would love you to be on my team brother.
Side note: Green Bodhi told me to test those fucking plants but I believed the clone conservatory telling me I was a not good enough grower so tied the symptoms to my growing method which was wrong (I thought maybe the plants needed to be grown differently because they were used to different all their lives or genetics that take extreme shock or they couldn’t take the transition from clones lined up in a tray to soil) plus I didn’t really have the $ to test at all bro I was broke. So I wasn’t going to with Green Bodhis suggestion alone. Especially cuz i drove so far I wouldn’t of imagined this could happen. But I think if you woulda said that’s hlv for sure like you did here along with Green Bodhi telling me it’s a good idea to test I believe I would have realized quick and tested them. Green Bodhi didn’t say it is but told me to test them. Kinda said that it seemed like it too, but I’ve never delt with it before this but makes perfect sence now! But Green Bodhi was giving me new tips to get plants healthy and trying to help me grow. Now I know why the grow looked embarrassing, because of you bro. Thank u for coming on this thread brother I’m grateful I know this information. I wanna learn from you you have 4x more experience than I. I was used to the reliability of dark heart & pcg so I thought another clonery would be like that cuz that’s what I was used to. Big lesson learned. Now I also know how blessed I am living exactly where the dhn and pcg drops are located and what that’s worth!
@Principante8 I meant
I would follow your handle because I want to see a 200 clone grow and I would only support people who are good. Would love to support you on your handle. Or if you don’t have one consider making one. I think a lot of people want to see a 200 clone grow. Either way I’m grateful you came on to share this knowledge. Now I have experience with hlv hands on and know what it is and how to spot it! Thanks brother for coming on💯I’d support after you got brought down with bad cuts bro on your channel. Id like to see what you do next cuz we rise higher when we get knocked down
Thanks for the kind words Daniel. I only signed up to this site for this specific thread so I could warn the community, or at least communicate the misfortune I had with the Clone Conservatory, in hopes it would be of help to whomever may be looking for it. I won’t be posting here much in the future but I’ll leave my account open and I’ll link to my email so if you have any questions or concerns I’ll see yours message and get back to you.
Pictures and lab test confirmation is so important in this time of misinformation. Without having something to compare to, people are left guessing, but now there’s another small resource. Hplvd is everywhere and it’s really a bummer that when people have an infected plant that they second guess themselves as a grower. I posted about the same topic on another forum under the same handle. The …mag site. I don’t post there often either but I’ve been there for years on and off. Mostly off
I had the plastic box of used soil that could of been contagious with hlv from the clone conservatory and rinsed it out really good and wiped with disinfecting wipes squeaky clean. Put fresh soil in it and started a few seeds yesterday. Then I learned the next day (today) that alcohol doesn’t faze hlv and only bleach works. Am I fucked yet again bro
I learned this info from Real Cannabis Talk on YouTube with Nate from Prima Clones. Really informative
@vernal ^ what do u think too
I’m not sure if it spreads through soil or how long it can live without a host. It may be that the viroid isn’t present in the soil if there isn’t any plant debris in there. Many pathogens spread through soil but I’m not sure about viruses or viroids. I wish I knew the answer and could be more helpful. Maybe the guys at Dark Heart lab can answer your question. If you do run it by them please post the answer here so the community is aware. My thoughts are that you’ll probably be ok. My memory isn’t as good as it used to be but in the interview I watched they really put emphasis on scissors and cutting into the plants.
You’ll be fine unless there’s a lot of root material left over. If you cleaned it out well, rinsed, wiped and added fresh soil I wouldn’t worry at all.
That’s what happened @vernal but I was still nervous because only bleach kills hlv I learned. I care about not having it so much that every time I wake up from napping it’s like a nightmare all over again of worrying
Yeah it definitely fucks with ya. I’m still always trying to bend branches and on lookout for anything appearing “off”.
You’re probably fine though.
R u sure/positive I’m fine @vernal & can I keep using that soil
I can’t make any guarantees. There isn’t even a guarantee seeds are safe.
I wouldn’t use any soil at all from suspected hplvd plants.
But germing seeds in a container you washed out and wiped clean is almost certainly fine.
@vernal i meant should I still use the new soil I poured into the wiped down bin
I don’t see why not if it’s new soil and you cleaned the bin.
You will be fine, it’s mainly transferred through plant sap. It cannot survive on surfaces for more than a few hours. It requires a host to reproduce.
What doesn’t work is cutting one plant, cleaning the tool with alcohol, then cutting another plant with the same tool. You need bleach and around a 10 minute contact time.
There’s evidence that even touching an infected bud (dried plant material) to uninfected material can spread it.
In hops fields, they leave the area fallow for six months when they detect HpLVd. I’m not too sure about the dry material, though I saw Dark Heart claiming that was a vector for infection.
At this point I treat everything like it has HpLVd. I act like a surgeon. Wash my hands before handling a plant, use a fresh scalpel blade, and clean all tools in Virkon-S.
That is why I mix bleach and 90% alcohol together in squirt bottles for wiping work space and counter top and wash all reusable small rooting pots and up to 5” square plastic pots drip trays etc I raise bonsai moms in. Plus I fill my utility room sink with a mix of alcohol bleach and Dawn soap to clean trays etc for disease and pest’s. 10-15 percent of each alcohol and bleach. I do first rinse with HOT tap water and my water heater is set max and I have actually deformed some of the cheap catch trays from the hot water. It’s cheap and after it dries I can rerinse with plain water.
@Principante8 it seems like DHN agrees that there is a high probability that I am safe. There’s no real way to know for sure 100% but it’s a high probability that it’s okay because the previous soil was dry and been outside for a long time before I used it and I did clean the bin and the viroid doesn’t last forever on dry surfaces (2 weeks) for surfaces that touched the plant like a knife in my case it’s dry soil so there is a high probability that I’m fine. @vernal @ReikoX
