The first Canadian Frost Cup!

I was thinking of doing multiple cuts of the same thing. I usually don’t do huge plants either. Is this supposed to be all from seed @Kushking902 or can we do cuttings ?

Clone or seed doesn’t matter, just grow your best buds  start no later the. Dec 1 and sent in by March 31.

your continued sacrifice is deeply appreciated, Arbiter

I think you’re underestimating some of us. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Id also be fine to pitch a prepaid box if needed to help, along with some stuff for the winner. :v:

Sure we COULD try and figure it out, but in the end it’s about finding the best bud, not finding out whose is whose - until after of course .

I say watch the grow but judges should themselves also try not to actually figure that out… Can’t be kids finding Christmas presents early, we have to be good too :ok_hand:

Also, 4-7 grams? I’m pretty sure us judges could fire out a smoke report with 2 grams… That’s a couple solid joints and a bowl or two in a vape, sounds about right, to me anyway :metal:

Yup, absolutely :ok_hand: (or cover the cost, for me personally)

I agree. When multipled by 10 judges it adds up and it was short sighted of me to assume otherwise. It’ll be good to keep the growers investment under a zip.

I would definitely prefer an eighth to a quarter, over a gram or two, though… especially if it’s better than mine! :joy: :raised_hands:

Would be awesome if some with a 3d printer could make a cup for the winner. Something like this? Trying to find something open source we could use.

I like it!

Even though the 10 slots are filled more growers are welcome to sign up if they are interested in taking part.
The signup will stay open until the deadline for starting the grow.
Everyone that is signed up can start anytime they are ready up to the deadline

@Kushking902, I jumped in a slot for a judge. Looking forward to judging flower. Do you have an criteria of methods of judgements or is this still something that needs to be hashed out still?

What I was thinking was scoring out of 10 for each of the following categories,
Smell, Taste, Medicinal effects, Strength, Bag appeal, Flush/burn/cure, Smokability/smoothness, Enjoyment,Trim job
and Would you buy it?
Decimal points should be used to avoid a 5 way tie or something though. I might have to break those categories down a bit to make the decimal points easier to achieve. I have an idea of how to do it but I need to sit down and hammer out the finer details.
That’s the basic idea for it.

With some of the bud I’ve seen people on here grow, I totally agree… But, that’d at least take a whole plant to cover the judges alone, hahaha

I’d just need one nice little nug really.

if we have 10 judges at 3.5 grams each that would mean the plant would need to yield at least 35 grams cured. In the time frame some strains may struggle to deliver that in some folks set ups. 2 grams per judge might be more realistic? And that is just a question, not stating my opinion.
december 1st to march 31st gives us roughy 16 weeks to accomplish that.
assuming a 6 week veg and 10 week flower… will we have time to cure the bud before the submission date? I usually don’t even smoke from the harvest till at least 2 weeks after it’s been down. Again, just throwing some thoughts out there

I vote 2g’s per judge is plenty, as there’s (as of now) 10 growers, that’s 20 g’s per judge for them to try

The Karma cup judges sizes were somewhere about 2g’s
(I’ll weight one when I get home to check)
