I imagine bigger pots do make a difference to a point of diminishing return based on time constraints. Rock on! Can’t wait to see what happens next :).
Those are great little trimmers. I have a few pairs of those same trimmers.
I just harvested 2 mob one inside and one outside and they look epic. Outdoor is drying and indoor is curing 3 days now.
I think taller containers may allow auto genetics to reach their height potential.
The way i read it, and that makes sense to me is this. The tap root having room to burrow deep… in their limited lifetime parameters… allowing for taller plants by having an overall larger rootball.
Did that make sense? Just indulged on the Chiquita…
It made sense yes but I’m not sure I buy in to that theory that an auto plant will be ready to flower when its taproot reaches the bottom of the pot. My guess would be the taproot hits the bottom of a 3 gallon pot in a week.
I think that autos are predisposed to start flowering based on their genetics, maybe the ruderalis originally used, things like that.
I think the smaller or shorter pots help keep size smaller cause the roots find the edges and grow accordingly. I don’t think that will cause flowering as I had autos in solos that took over 7 wks to start flowering.
Did you see the new mephisto strain? Appletine or something doesn’t sound good at all to me. The dosi delirium different story.
Yep. If you’d planted those two seeds in each others’ pots they’d still look pretty much the same.
So are you saying that if the seed from the smaller plant in the smaller pot had been planted in the bigger pot it would be the same size as it is now?
Or are you saying it would now be the size of the one in the big pot, and if the seed from the big plant had been planted in the little pot it now would be the smaller plant?
Sorry, little buzz so it made sense to me.
I’m deleting all seed company propaganda emails till after the new year.
There’s Black Friday soon ya know.
@carty recommends starting in bigger pots. Like a 1 gallon that gets transferred to a 3 gallon.
Atlas seeds says it doesn’t make a difference.
I do want to try a comparison of small pots and larger pot starting size
You need some auto seeds to use for the comparison?
I appreciate the offer. We have a bunch.
I really want to do the comparison because I was told it would not make a difference. I want to make sure
What in your opinion is Atlas Seeds best overall auto strain? I think I have a pack of their autos here.
I’m liking the fruit by the foot. It did pretty well in bags for us. I’m sure it’ll kick ass in the ground.
I liked cotton candy also.
We will be trying 5 new varieties this spring. I’ll be posting updates
Did we have this conversation at some point cause it just felt like Deja vu when I saw Froot by the Foot because I think that’s the strain I have.
I believe that we have
Fruit by the foot was much better then the fogdog
I’m glad my Fog Dog auto seeds are from that guy on Strainly I think. I could be wrong about that but I got them from @GCBudz and he said they make nice plants.
It was good weed, people liked it. The fruit by the foot is just nicer all around. I want to try the gummibesrs, wedding cake and some other stuff I picked out. They are adding some new autos to the catalog this season. I’m curious to see what’s coming
Mark at Strainly… they were distributed here by Corey.
I never had the opportunity to try Froot by the foot. You ran that outdoors @Emeraldgreen ? How did your season go, im way behind on journals here.
Season was brutal. Losing a lot because of the 1,2 punch of septoria than bud rot. Not a happy season.
I ran the fruit by the foot two springs ago in the hoop house. 3 gallon grow bags. So far my favorite of the 3 atlas autos we have run.
