The Not Fridge - nothing to see here 👀

I blame this.

I’m very anti organic things in my tent. They always cause a scene. They break down or get together in undesirable ways solely to piss me off.

Compost tea worm farm growers curating a symbiotic bacterial sludge to drip feed their plants are crazy people. Ain’t no way.

Part of me wants to see you try the octopots without the happy frog. I think best practice is half coco or peat and half perlite. I don’t mess around with coco, but I love peat in the outside garden.
The other part of me wants you just to put that little darlin’s roots right down in that water and forget about it. Little sprinkle of maxibloom and come back next week.

Why the hate on octo pots? Just curious.

I’m doing DIY micro octopots same as @Not-Notjosh

I’ll sparkle in a smidgen of :sparkles:koolbloom crystal :sparkles: and wave her off to wherever she’s going.

Now this just made my morning!
Thank you for that :pray:t3:

Am growing in pre amended halfway living soil, just adding H2O + CalMg.
2nd or 3rd run and plants are doing good or great. Those pesky organics haven’t ganged up on my yet.

But to each their own :+1:t3:

Looking forward to more of your nonfridge adventures

It’s not hate, it’s extreme jealousy. I wish I could figure them out, they seem like the ideal “bottom water planter”.
They also seem to have all the problems of soil like bugs, nutrient buildup, general soil ire. As well as all the problems of hydro, pH swings, roots growing places clogging or making themselves hard to clean out.

Tried to throw some nanners this last week but i plucked.
Trichomes, about half still pretty clear.

Ph drama has revolved, though as a last puzzler it was actually Low today - brought from 5.7 to 6.0 with 7 drops of ph Up.

Maybe Slightly bulkier than last week. She just got the call though.

In Not Fridge news———————————

Sprouters gonna sprout :seedling:

Trying another shot at my first tomato and such seed germ tray that didnt take, this time in root riots. So far do ok? :crossed_fingers::relaxed:

And mug1.1  is looking pluckier by the day. Jazzed to revive it.

Cut her down without a frown on Monday.

Lucky punk of late :four_leaf_clover:
Been pretty stellar humidity conditions all week for the dry.

Trichs looked ok from my POV (even the ones on all the crispy cracklin’s)

Not much chlorophyll in her to begin with so probably not very much to shed. One or two buds gained a little weight in the last push, so im kind of curious how it ends up dry.

If i get an eighth out of her i’m calling it a serious win :trophy:🫲 :star_struck: 🫱 :trophy:

In other news…
Lookin good so far.
If i can keep these sprouters alive for a few more weeks in their not-fridge/incubator, i might be rolling in produce this summer :fire::hot_pepper::herb::tomato::cherries::tomato:

Mug1.1 is still reporting for duty.
I’ll start its official timer once i transplant. Planning to run soil only, megacrop 1part. No frills, 2, maybe 3 gallon. Reconnect with the observable basics.

Current state- little pale around the swales, so i’ve hit it with some foop spray a couple times. Just been giving water otherwise yet.

Pulling my whole human head out of this winter’s ass has been more of a challenge than ever. Glad to see daylight again, and boy does it smell better out here!

Happy to focus on a project again that isnt already a plummeting wreck :v::sunglasses:

But if i learned anything this winter, its

Glad Mug is down and restart is imminent. Not in any negative way, but excited for you to get a fresh start. :sunglasses:

I’ve gotta get moving on some garden stuff this morning. Lots of peppers there!

Cheers man. Good luck on the fresh fridge start and your pepper farm outside :hot_pepper:

Trim day smoke report -
Ketosis x Ice Cream Cake98 = known here affectionately as Mug (cuz she’s tough, and a cause for celebration :beers:)

For uncured, lightly spongy, mostly leafy sticky icky bud, it hit pretty nice and just a little harsh on the exhale, much less than expected. Flavor is hard to place yet, but primarily weed-forward .
Effects were nice and uplifting- i’ve yet to have consistent experience with strains that make that claim. Usually = :point_up_2::up: :zap::warning: to me, but Mug had me feeling focused up and creative and determined to do something challenging. Which i did and felt some good accomplishment feelings :relieved:. Hours later going to bed, my mind was still boisterously enjoying itself in a kind of mental moonbounce. Every mindful breath i drew rebounded the circular wave :ocean: i imagined swashing its way through the cave system of my loosening nerves, flowing just below my awareness… and then… :clapper:click
:sunrise_over_mountains:
So grateful :v::sunglasses:

Excellent. One of the best flavors of weed - weed.

Glad you are enjoying your harvest as well, my enjoyment is a couple weeks off yet. Looking forward to the reboot :sunglasses:

Back in the saddle after several months of hard/yard work. It’s not much to look at yet (so no pictures) but we are getting there :sunglasses:

since i’ll start having a Bit more free weekend hours, i figured i’d start a tiny grow. Doing it as much to shrug off the self doubt i took on over my last grow, as it is to redeem myself, by running those same strains i failed to do justice*.

big asterisk: *as ive come to discover, even though i nearly fried the scarlet grapes to a cinder, the smoke (vapor) is fantastic. Same with the Mug i got five crispy grams from. Delicious, potent, pleasant weed that i enjoy both the effects and flavors of. And my tolerance is practically laughable. Much less than an ounce each, and i’ll be smoking these a long while. All of which to asterisk-edly denote: the bar for True, joyous success in this game, for me, is So Fucking Low, all the slack is mine to cut.

Mug1.1 is a clone of (ketosis x icc98) Mug1 (RIP), rooted about 2 months ago and chilling out in a solo cup, with a few foop sprays but mostly just water. Pulled mug1 before sexing, so could still be a dude. Gotta remember that.

Frankenstein fem, and Scarlet Grapes auto, seeds put in rapid rooters already watered into solo cups full of happy frog+perlite. Seeds in on Saturday, empty solo cups tenting on top. Both above ground today!

Plan is to transplant after a week into 2 gallon fabric pots for mug and frank, then flip 12/12 right away, in the fridge. Not trying to harvest anything huge, just healthy. Megacrop 1 part, plus gypsum, epsom, maybe a bit of koolbloom liquid/dry later in flower.

Scarlet Grapes is gonna live outside (my first OD). I’ll put her into a micro octopot, see how she do outside with the tomatoes :tomato::grin: youll see those too this summer :sunny:

Thats all for now. Calm, centered, positive vibrations outward and inward. Long Days, Pleasant nights :crescent_moon:

Glad to read you’ve been enjoying your harvest. The redemption of the “encrispening”

Also happy to see some new starts! Curious how the octo does outside, I should go toss a Scarlet Grapes somewhere in the yard and see what happens.

Running just soil this go-around? Rather than the octos?

Yes sir. Back to basics. Get my bearings again, and a few (hopefully happy) plants under my belt before i move back over to octotown for real :octopus::houses:

That ketosis x icc bud i managed to eek off of that poor plant is curing up quite nicely :+1: pleasant, tasty, fast acting, focusable… zonk-smoke :metal: :tornado:

Hope you’re doin okay by you - your pup is lookin so grown up already

Fridge got a good cleaning, main circulation fan got a new placement, babies got a pep talk, and we’re off to the races. Or slowses?

We are off to…. The

I decided not to move the auto outside this year, partly because im chicken, but mostly bc i am not trying to be worried about all kinds of new OD problems just yet. Someday, just not tomorrow.

That leaves the 3 babies inside, gonna try to get them all to play nice in 2 gallon pots together on the shelf. May not all fit, but we’ll give it a shot.

Mixed 6 gallons of media today and divided into 3 fabric pots:

  • 4 gal Happy Frog
  • 2 gal perlite
  • 4 Tbsp Dolomite Lime
  • 4 tsp epsom salt

Give em another week, transplant and flip 12/12.
Let’s get some a that sweet sweet Green Live Redemption…. or forgive ourselves and keep trying! :v::cowboy_hat_face:

Best of luck on this run!

I really like growing outside. I’d urge you to get one going in a 5 or 10 gallon. I like big pots because it’s even less work.

Nice fan! Which is that? Vornado Duo? I had considered the Vornado Atom for my tent but I figured out how to get the ACI oscillating fan to work.

It is a Vornado duo - good eye :sunglasses:
I have one other reason to keep clandestine (in-laws occasional visits- no idea i even smoke). Thinking that will be less of an issue after this summer when everybody and their brother starts growing in their backyards (legal for everybody in NY starting in July). I’ve been trying to clue them in, but for now, i’m growing tomatoes in a fridge. In my office. Sure :+1:

I’ll do 1 or 2 5gallons next summer though. Really thinking about getting some more fem auto beans to run OD so i can get in and out without being stuck waiting for it to finish while the weather does its terrible weather things around here…

(Also flip day for the two photos 🩴🩴 :camera_flash:)

Probably not a minute too soon for Mug 1.1

Frankie seems up to the challenge

And i can tell Scarlet has been tapping her foot

The actual transplant went, how they say…. “all kinds of fucked up”

But i’ve done much worse before and my sins were forgiven.
I have petitioned the queen AI goddess of all things ganja:

we will know her ruling in future times
