Congrats for your harvest and good luck with that interview , hope to see you planning your next grow, you will find it easier and more rewarding once you managed to leave problems behind and learn from them …
Things are well, not much happening lately.
The one Poison Mimosa is really throwing pistols, while her sister is not making much notable growth (going by how much more color she has and her location in the tent I’m guessing she’s a little colder). The Sk1 x BP x PT is doing well too- I saw a fair bit of green coming up in the buds. I was expecting these to be done about now, I don’t think that’s correct. Trichomes are still crystal clear, new pistols still coming in… I don’t know, I’m just waiting on them to tell me when they’re ready.
This is one of my CBD seeds but for the life of me I can’t remember what happened to the other, or which this is. But whichever it is it’s doing well.
Here we have the ABC seedling, who isn’t quite as happy. Also the only clone I have remaining from the three I took (what kind of idiot doesn’t label anything?)
I also dropped 8 seeds into LABELED solo cups. All more of the Sk1 x BP x PT so I can do a bit better a job of a grow log for them. I was going to start that today, but none have sprouted yet.
Day 70 something… 77 I think. I took some more serious testers as I’m getting the idea they are ready. I have had middling luck with trichome spotting- I can maybe tell the difference between clear and cloudy, amber is just starting to make an appearance on one Poison Mimosa, I’ll probably cut it this weekend, I need the tent for drying so it’s going to all three or none. I think I saw a cropping of black trichome heads? Maybe the light playing tricks.
The Poison Mimosa (blue and yellow) are giving lovely mimosa fruity smell. While I was trimming I noticed a fair amount of kinda fluffy crap, like white calyx?
The Sk1 x BP x PT (Green) is quite acrid, but delightfully piney. It’s stinks but I’m kinda into it.
Overall I’ve learned… well I don’t think I know how to trim. And maybe the plants will be done in the next week or two. If I can manage it, I’ll try and get some pictures through the loupe but tbh the results I got earlier aren’t promising. Considering just investing in a USB microscope for such purposes.
Results are in, after trying the samples myself and passing them around a bit. They’re ready! I myself have a higher tolerance, a bowl of anything doesn’t really hit me that hard, so I was dubious of the strength and wanted an outside opinion, so I passed them off to an experienced smoker. First responses were “oh that shits great” and later on a text “oh wow, it’s really great” so I say they pass.
The Poison Mimosa are I’m guessing maybe 15-20% and very true to its lineage. The high is subtle but stimulating, just what I look for. I definitely taste the Mimosa more than the Durban Poison, there is a faint licorice note. 10/10 will grow again.
The Sk1 x BP x PT is nice, fucking nice. I haven’t gotten the report back from Buddy Guy but my impressions are strongly good. The taste is like smoking a cedar chest, and also has this acrid note that on first smell I thought ammonia, but I liken it a bit more towards tobacco in the smoke. I would guess also 15-20% on her. Maybe a bit more.
I cut them all today, will update later in the week when it’s time to weight and jar them up. Honestly though I’m over the moon. Not only a successful first grow, I got to find the joy of other people enjoying your work. I’ve had thoughts of growing more than I care to use myself, because I love the variety and the growing process. Knowing any extras I have will be happily used reaffirms that!
Oh, I didn’t know MH was so awfully green when cold. Gross.
Well friends, everything is vegging now, or revegging as it were. I don’t have specific plans to flower or document these, except the Sk1 x BP x PT seedlings which I need to update the log on. I believe this brings this train wreck thread to an end, unless anyone was particularly interested in anything else. It’s been a fun ride, many more to come (hopefully with better titles).
I will add one more update! These banana peels I put in seem to have done really well. All I found left of them was scraps of thin black paper and most of the stem.
Would I do it again, yes maybe if I used organic bananas. Did it help? Ehh… I don’t know that I ever needed it since I was alkaline poisoning them their whole lives. So hey, if you’re desperate for potassium, throw a banana in there? A tea probably would’ve been way smarter.
Hi @George, I was just searching this topic and found your comment… have you tried this before?
Hi Ian, yes I did, I made my banana tea but following other video, very simple to make it. How’s your Spanish? Cheers …
Gracias George, no hablo mucho pero lo entiendo
