Nice big ol’ chunky buds of those last couple!!:fire::fire::fire:

Nice find on the cheap controller, I’m not exactly sure what it is as I’m not very savvy in the technology part of things…:roll_eyes: but happy you’re happy that it works :grin:

Oh and remember 9mm…safety ALWAYS off…:sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Could be some wind-burn on your plants from the fan.

At least if you vent back into the basement you wont lose your heat or humidity if you want to keep it, I have the option to do both inside and outside venting to change between winter and summer if I need to.

Might be wind burn causing the yellowing I get it sometimes, especially in low humidity.

Edit Joe beat me to the post lol.

After I hit reply I had this strange feeling you were typing up something similar. Great minds think alike/fools seldom differ?

I just noticed the plants most affected were also really light in the pot. Like dangerously light. Maybe I just wasnt getting enough water to them and was getting some buildup in the coco from not cycling through. I hand watered to a healthy runoff then increased the frequency and duration of my auto-watering so I’m hoping that I see some improvement.

Well the last two weeks have been busy.

I harvested the remaining two PRxCDs in the SP250 tent.

The biggest plant had some massive tops on her.

The smaller one had experienced a bit more stress a long the way and was a lot more crowded out by the older plants it used to share a home with. Due to this it basically grew right into the light fixture and without a whole lot of options for flopping or training alot of tops got heavily light bleached, which I think contributed to the lower overall yield on this one.

Still a great yield for 2 plants that spent 80% of their lives crammed in the back corners of the tent. I reckon 150g+ when all said and done.

In the other tent, well things have been kinda rough but the plants are gonna make it.

The EC had spiked to nearly 2.0 about a week ago. I’ve resorted to doing a couple flush throughs with pH’ed water but theres no doubt still some imbalances with nutrition and salt buildup.

I cleaned them up this morning, defoliating damaged leaves and anything blocking bud sites.

After

The 4 “replacements” are doing okay, I guess, they’re either going to be small and help fill out the tent or be huge and get neglected til they grow into the light like the two I just harvested lol.

Gotta get a new round going in the SP250 tent, and as soon as I find something plastic to prop my little 2x2 on I’ll be starting a project in there too.

Nice Haul!! Got some beefy tops, and pretty meaty branches attached to them.

Started a new run in the SP250 tent. Made some modifications to the drainage system and also gained a few inches of headroom by making some adjustments. Also gave the tent it’s own temp/humidistat and it’s own exhaust fan. Still havent figured out a plan for venting both tents through the same duct network so I’m just venting into the basement for now until they get stinky.

Strains are PRxCD, Dark Spark, Lemon Pie and GRxCD, all courtesy of @Mr.Sparkle

Other tent is coming along, 2-3 weeks out on the flowering plants.

Hard to believe they were on the brink of death 3 weeks ago. Small but should still get some good smoke.

The younglings took a bad turn the day after my last post. Not sure what the problem was, but since I was pretty much out of MegaCrop and all I had on hand were full bottles of GH Micro, Bloom and Calimagic, I whipped up a batch of Lucas Formula, and gave the plants a heavy feeding with lots of runoff.

Within 24hrs they were back to looking perky again. I’m really wondering if I should just ditch the MegaCrop once and for all as I’ve had nothing but troubles with their formulations ever since they switched it up 3 years ago.

Today I did some training and tucking to get their tops exposed. As long as they stay healthy they should end up being nice plants.

Time for a weekly update!

Had a bit of a booboo the other day when training one of the young PRxCDs…

Yep that’s the meristem with all of its apex snapped off… lol I taped it back on but it was really a goner so I just let it go… what’s worse is it happened when I was trying to show someone how to train plants and inspire confidence in them to do so… the look of horror on their face… “Well shit…No worries I’ll tape this back on and it will be good as new watch this”

Normally I just supercrop/pinch and flop but I was trying to show the classic way of “gently” pulling branches down… ironic?

Anyways chopped a couple early finishing CD and GRxCD 2 days ago.

Not much on them but the CD smells terrific just can’t really put my thumb on it yet…

We had a massive amount of rain over the weekend and my basement got a good 1 inch of water in it.

I got to work with the shopvac, having to carry each bucket upstairs one at a time because yeah… the drain to outside backed up into the basement as well!!!

After hauling a good 100gal of water out of the basement, it started coming in even faster than I could pump it out… that’s when a hole busted through the bottom of my chimney and even more water started coming in.

Trying to think quick I ran and grabbed a can of flex seal I had. I sprayed it on the leaking areas while using the vacuum to keep things dry.

It slowed things down sigificantly, but I still had to spend the next 3 days going down there every couple hours and pumping more out…

It was a nightmare.

So I decided to re-arrange the grow space a little, since when it floods a lot of water goes under my tents (which are up on plastic shelving) and in the case of my unused 2x2 was actually getting it wet. So I shifted things a bit closer to the workbench, which led me to re-organizing and optimizing all my grow gear and supplies. The 2x2 is really close to the work area so I’m more apt to use it for something now. The keyword over the next few weeks is going to be optimizing and I’ve already made some changes over the last month to really give some quality of life improvements to me and my plants.

Oh and yeah plants!!

The remaining eldest plants in the Bridgelux tent are doing great. Small but not the smallest I’ve grown so hey I should stop complaining lol. They should be done in another week or two which will free up even more space for their younger neighbors sharing the tent.

Some nice buds, though…

The younger ones, despite the afforementioned decapitation, seem to be doing fine since the switch to new nutrients. Arguably better, really. They just were switched to auto watering 2 days ago as well and seem to be liking it.

Over in the SP250 tent (I really need to come up with better names but whatever) the seedlings have been sprouted for a couple days (3.5 days after direct sow) and I’m just keeping things moist while they get their first week or so in then turning up the volume on watering and giving them some nutrition.

I’m excited to see how these Lemon Pies perform, they seem to be the more vigorous so far and are twice the size of any of the other seedlings.

In the 2x2 I have things ready to roll and I think I wanna reverse some fem autos and make some seeds but I still gotta get set up with some reversal solution before planting anything so stay tuned on that adventure.

Sad to hear the bad news Trev

Leaking basements are a pain, mine was leaking for a while, had it repaired and it was good for another 3 years but then it started coming in again further along. I ended up chipping out a load of concrete and replaced it with hydraulic cement, and sprayed that same sealant over it.

I was checking mine a couple of times a day for the last week, but it’s held up Ok thankfully.

I got a shop vac just for this problem, after the 4th time it leaked, sponging up gallons of cold water on my hands and knees at 1am is not fun, at least my back door was only 20ft away on the same level, so you have my sympathies having to carry heavy buckets up stairs.

Plants don’t look like it upset them so that’s a bonus :+1:

floods suck. We used a hammer drill to punch a hole in the cement and installed a sump well. When the icy water was flowing it wasn’t good for the clones. I lost a batch of prized stock to the floods.

I live in a house that was built in 1902 and the basement is made with pieces of granite mudded together.

9 months out of the year there’s always a foot of standing water.

edit: and thats with 2 sump pumps at either end of the basement

Another week in the books!

In the Bridgelux tent, the remaining elders are awaiting harvest. Probably Monday as I have some events scheduled over the weekend.

The younger 4 plants seem to be doing great. A little tip burn and some weird growth around the bud sites but I’m thinking they should be pretty decent in the end.

This top was getting too dominant so floppy floppy it goes…

In the SP250 tent, the seedlings had a bad reaction after their first feeding. It was a couple days overdue and they were starting to look hungry so maybe the sudden nutrition influx gave em a bit of shock. They seem to be fine now. Feeding them at 1.1ec (50% Lucas formula + calmag), just gave em their first heavy water to runoff tonight, and will probably get them on auto watering within the next few days.

That’s it for now!!

Happy 420 OG!! I’m sitting here watching TPB and smoking an assortment of different strains of flower, hash and rosin, all of which I grew and made myself. I can’t help think back at all the 4/20’s I’ve spent without or with only a small amount of cannabis, and I’m grateful to this amazing plant for providing me with medicine and mutual growth. I never take it for granted, but today of all days is cause for reflection.

I hope you all have a bakey and stoney 4/20!!

Harvested the rest of the mature plants a couple days ago.

All said and done these plants are probably going to yield about a half lb. Not bad for a 2x2 footprint as they were limited to only half the tent.

That left room to space out the remaining plants which are at day 47. They’re a little runty because they were forced to share a small space for too long but should still produce a bit of bud in the end.

Over in the other 2x4 “SP250” tent, the seedlings are 17 days old and have been on auto watering for 2 days. Really hoping this is a good round!

Since I ran out of the 1 part MegaCrop a few weeks back I have been using the spare GH Micro/Bloom I had on hand and just mixing up doses according to lucas formula. So far so good, but I got 35lbs of MegaCrop Part A 5-12-26 and 35lbs of Calcium Nitrate arriving on Tuesday so looks like I’ll be using that for a while. Have been and will continue to read @GramTorino and @lefthandseeds threads for info on how best to run this stuff in coco, but if anyone else is running a 5-12-26 like Jack’s or this new MegaCrop please link me to your threads!!

Absolutely amazing harvest.
Beautiful stacked buds.

I’m still learning by trial and error. Glad to help where I can.

Really nice harvest and photography, you killed it on this one. Those are some real fat nugs!

Where’d you find the clear tub? Looks like a perfect fit, it’s hard to find ones that are just right.

Thanks guys!

@smokenhike the clear tubs are just “underbed storage” containers. I have two different ones but they both fit in the tents just fine. The actual 2x4 flood trays, a lot of them won’t fit a 2x4 tent and these tubs are the best thing I’ve found. Still looking for a better way to make a drain hole where there isn’t a lip preventing 100% of the water from draining.
