**Updated Week 6 Flowering** 1st Grow, 14 strains, 3 Rooms, 2 Dehumidifiers, 1 Layer Trellis

Thanks @MadTruka , you are correct about the Can-Filter size. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe it’s the largest size they make. It was a pain in the ass lugging that thing down 2 flights of stairs!! It weighs well over 150 pounds. I have a 10" Max-Fan with a 12" to 10" reducer, followed by an Active-Air padded clamp to reduce noise and it looks nice and clean. I actually have a controller on the fan and turn it down just slightly, and I cuts down on noise significantly. I know it moves over 1000 CFM. In my opinion, it’s better to over do your fan and filter sizes.

@Dickertjulias,

Yes its the same filters that I use the can with granules / pellets inside, the proper one 75kg approx, yours is sat on the floor on its base, I have done that before and also had them lay on there sides, but I prefer to get them as high up as possible as heat rises and humidity / moisture falls. for this I use filter stands, but its a bitch lifting them onto the stand on your own. I then lift each side of the stands extension legs up a bit at a time and fasten the securing screw whilst doing the same to the other side, until its as high as it can go.

Not the Can - Lite

They used to make one called the Can Max filter that was slightly wider at 54cm across the base but its no longer made by them for some reason. They do have a 2m x 45cm but to get hold of those is like trying to get hold of rocking horse shit.

I also use the fan controlers to to adjust fan speeds, mine are also capable of increasing or decreasing fan speed dependant on the temp and humidity, from smscom.

As you say and I agree its always better to over do the filtration and fans then you can slow them down or speed up as required.

I started using terpenator at day 14 of flower.

Honestly man i notice a huge difference but i will say that it could of been that i had just finally dailed in the food regime .i stopped using bottled nutrients shortly after that so i never gave it a true test run to be honest

I will be giving the first full-strength dose today. I I’ll keep everyone updated!

Thanks Mike, did you switch to yes or true live organics?

I switch to a supersoil style of growing so now instead of terpenator i use crab meal

Nice! I made a custom blend of soil that has some crustacean meal in it along with blood and bone meal, alfalfa, oyster shelk, lime, greensand and live earth humates.

Good evening Overgrow 2.0 here are some pics pre-prune of the lower limbs. I should have removed them prior to now. I haven’t ever done this before and wanted to make sure I wasn’t cutting anything I shouldn’t have.

Good evening Overgrow,

I was thinking about building my 2nd and final trellis tonight and installing tomorrow. Please see the attached pictures and chime in please!! The 1st layer was just used to guide my ladies in prep for this trellis.

It looks like your stretch is about over. Wouldn’t it mangle your buds pulling it down? Just chiming in i don’t use trellis.

I was thinking the same. I could do it very carefully or I could tie them down. My buddy that grows commercially insisted on a second layer but he could be wrong!?

Why didnt you take your buddy’s advice if he has experience growing commercially ?

You could place your 2nd net carefully with help from an extra pair of hands (with possibility of plant or flower damage). Alternatively you could choose to raise the first net very slowly as the fan leaves will allow that direction of upward movement easier than been forced down by placing a 2nd net now.

What is the reason for your net? To train the branches into the spaces you want them to grow? Or to support the branches when under the weight of heavy buds?

Can you get some of these from your local store?

The reason I ask is the net look mobile secured by hanging method, as if designed to be raised as the plants grow?

My two cents… being the frugal type I’d say use the KISS technique. Keep a close eye on the flowers that are stretching and need extra support, then use yarn or similar to secure them from the supports used to hold the first net. May save a little on material and time for the grow, allowing more time to focus your energy on maintaining and producing stellar flowers, potential last minute pests/tear makers.

Looks beautiful so far. Post that progress. Cheers.

What is the strain? It is overgrown and I agree with previous advises… Maybe just tie and bend them lightly to make height more equal…

In general I don’t use trelis for bushes (they don’t need support - just use air-vent to make them strong), but if I do only one is needed to train them

Only one net or trelis are you refering to a screen of green there @LemonadeJoe SCOG, agreed with the bushes type of growing, oscillating fans to strengthen the stems and branches and simulate wind in nature. But I only see lighting from above not all around. So thats why I asked the question what was the purpose or proposed method SCOG or SOG or just for support?

Herbie, my reason for the net was to create an even canopy. I have about 5 strains under the net (Star 47 x (Blue OG x Ripper) , Headband, Chem Sour Diesel x Graper Ape, Jack Herer x OG Grape Krypt, Jack La Mota x Graper Ape) and I initially had all of my plants under and woven into the trellis net. I got my Headband clones from a different source and they are very very tall and stretched wayyy more than the others. When my buddy saw it he said I should pull them through the 1st layer for training and directional purposes. He said I needed to let the 1st layer fill in before I do anything else. I took his advice

Thank Kalgrae! I already bought the trellis and PVC for the frame unfortunately.

Hi @Dickertjulias,

I think there may have been some confusion between yourself and your freind on the actual purpose, crossed wires or is that nets and trelis lol. Its always very difficult to acheive that even canopy with multi strains. Some will reach the trelis before others. You are refering to the SCROG method, and I think your freind is refering to a SOG method. For future my advice for mixed strains is to go with multi nets or trelis assembled at the start, then you can acheive the screen(s) but allow for the different strecth and finishing heights of the different strains. Got a similar problem my self at the moment multi strains in 1 room. You need to place the screen at the height the smallest plants will be getting trained at, the others taller strains will hit it first and start to be trained before the others reach the trellis. There are plenty of threads on here refering to each method SOG and SCROG. It seems you havent managed to keep up with the unexpected strecth of the clones, his advice is right about the diercetion etc and the 2 net too, you will get to know each plants way of growing and the individual stretch the more you grow each strain. Best of luck, its looking good.
