@Blowingupjake Unfortunately, I did t get my 2nd layer of trellis put up due to my last minute decision to use one. The clones we’re bought from Medicine Man and The Green Solution in Denver. Cross-breeding on my first grow would have been awesome though! There are 6 different strains in trellis which explains the great variance in height.
Okay! Good work on your first grow, neighbor! Are you having as much fun as you thought you would?
I’ve never seen med man clones grown out- which ones came from there?
Stay Hazed from Aurora
Jake
Yes Jake it’s everything I expected to be. I have helped with many grows over the years but never had to space to “do it right.” I was a member of the original Overgrow when I was in my mid teens haha! I am glad I can finally put many hours of reading to good use. The only strains I got from Med. Man is Headband. It’s not my favorite personally. It’s tall and lanky. The cuts not under the trellis won’t yield crap unfortunately.
Right on man.
Welcome back to OG!
What is your favorite cut in the garden so far?
Stay Hazed,
Jake
I love the “Bank of the West” tote bag you’re using for a pot – just more evidence that stoners are secret MacGuyvers. Anyway, extremely impressive grow, and jaw-dropping first grow… looking forward to seeing how it wraps up!
@Blowingupjake my favorite cut is either the Chem Sour Diesel x Graper Ape or the Star 47 x OG Grape Krypt. I don’t know much about the lineage besides that Star 47 is comprised of 2 well known winners Ak-47 and Sensi Star.
@oranje I have been waiting for a month to see if anybody would comment on that bag, I either had a 7 gallon plastic pot or that bag and I went with the Bank of the West mortgage bag, so far it is proving to be a wise choice
I am not seeing any amber trics just yet, but I am going to start the flush in about 5 days. Comments or suggestions please?!?!
Looks great and like it all worked out with the net suspension. Got some beautiful lil ladies up in there.
Ones closest on the right are
@Kalgrae thanks buddy, I just put up a pic of my Jack Herer x (Blue OG x Ripper) that is no more than 1 foot tall but +4feet wide. I assume I flush for 2 weeks and harvest when my trics are 50% amber!?!
Do you have a good loop? My best luck has been to watch each strain type and pull at about 50/50 hairs and tricomes turning. I go for the punch effect and try to avoid couch lock. Wouldn’t say that my technique is 100% perfect, but I get close. Here’s a good loop for digging deep.

I hate to give advice on harvesting, there is too much personal taste involved. I will say that you should start your flush when the plumping up stage slows down or stops. From the last photo it looks like you have a bit more to go. That is from photo’s which isn’t the best to judge from. Trust yourself with harvesting.
Thanks guys! , @ryasco you are 100% correct, the buds have just started to fatten so I am going to wait until they slow down, last time I checked 1 gram/watt was the benchmark of a good grower??? I’d love it if I could pull 1 gram/watt on my first grow although I’m not sure if that # has increased
If you harvest, dry, and cure your buds. Then you roll up a big fatty and smoke it all the way down till it burns your fingers and you have a big shit eating grin on your face, then i will say you are a good grower.
Well played @ryasco, that made my day thanks bud! I do have a deficiency or an issue check this leaf out…Any thoughts?
I would venture to go on and say the YOU are a good grower. Very nice plants at 44 days. I don’t know what strain you have there but most hybrids I have grown do their fattening up between 6 and 8 weeks 12/12 so yours still have a lot of packing on I bet.
I don’t know how many watts you have, but I would guess you get between 3-5 zips from each of the plants under the screen.
Very nice show!
It looks good to me. I can’t see any problems. The slight tip burn looks like your heat or humidity got a little high at some point. Nutrient wise you look on point. Good job.
The ladies are beautiful. But, like another commenter stated, they should be better supported. The stress of leaning over will claim some of your weight. Try tying the girls to the bamboo rods, or garden yo-yos. Again, nice job!
@ganjajuana I have 13 plants total, 10 under the trellis with 2, 1000 watt Eye Hortilux Super HPS bulbs inside Magnum XXXL 8" air-cooled hoods blasting them, then I have 3 plants under my 3rd Magnum XXXL hood, those 3 hoods are in line running on Phantom digital dimmable ballast and being cooled by a 10" Max-Fan pulling around 1000 cfm. I had someone give me an old school Sun System 1000 watt magnetic ballast and batwing hood that I added for extra lighting. In conclusion I have 4000 watts shining down on my ladies.
@Cannarose I just picked up a pack of 25 4’ bamboo poles I will work on that when the lights turn on this afternoon
@ryasco hey bud I bet you are right about the humidity and heat, ever since I added a 4th 1000 watt my heat has been close to 80 due to it not being air cooled like the others, I did just.put in s dehumidifier that runs 24/7 with a hose running to a drain so it can always be working, and I added a dehumidifier/air-conditioning so I can tweak my temp or humidity level depending on what needs correcting
I would love to see what difference the bamboo poles made. I am guessing staking will make a lot of difference. Your ladies are leading over on day 42, supporting them will divert their attention from growing their own supportive stems to flower production. But, how much? Can’t wait to see.
