Great thread! Nice bushes.
I’ve merged updates to this diary from other topics OP started…
@lifecrop thanks buddy, my basement was the main selling point of my house unbenounced to the realtor. It is 1200+ square feet and climate controlled, not bad for my first grow right??
@LemonadeJoe thanks again for your help, can you change my name to BackcountryBlazer
Maybe there is slight tip burn. What is your feeding schedule?
Overall it is really massive. I wonder what you could achieve with single strain an uniform canopy there!
Big thumbs up!
Great thread, lots of good vibes and great pictures.
So… whens the trim party?..
Will work for scissor hasH<<<<<<<<<<<<<
It would have been a much more uniform canopy that’s for sure
Trim party in 2 weeks!! Are you in the Denver area?
Hah, I wish… I’m in AK…
One of these days im gonna go back to Colorado… I used to live in Wyoming in the mid 90’s. I loved Colorado like FoCo. Good times man…
Things are winding down. Picture #3 is a cola from my Star 47 x OG Grape Krypt. Picture #4 is of my Jack La Moda x (Blue OG x Ripper) and she has the best sativa smell of all hands down. The smell reminds me of a strain my buddies grew in college called S.A.G.E which stands for sativa afgani genetic equilibrium I believe. Tonight was going tobe the ladies last feeding, but I am thinking about going for one more week?? What do you guys think???
I think we should be glad you used trellis for support it is monster, these branches really weigh something
@LemonadeJoe breaking branches seems to be a gift and a curse
Few pics from tonight. I have seen 1 amber trichrome on my Star 47. Generally, how long will it take for half of the trichromes to turn now that they have started changing.
In my experience that depending on indica / sativa ratio there is number of “waves”. By wave I mean cycle of production of new calyxes. Flowers still generate new mass. So the process of old trichomes turning amber is accompanied by fresh production of calyxes with bright trichomes. With some sativas there are many “waves” that can go probably indefinitely …
Primary factor I look for is ratio of brown stigmatic hairs to white stigmatic hairs. When it is about 60% brown and I don’t know the strain yet, I check for trichomes color with magnifying glass and adjust my harvest day few days later or earlier.
If I know the strain well I’m just trying to “guess” when the current “wave” of pistil production ended.
Joe’s answer is far better than mine But yeah, long and short is that there’s no hard and fast rule, and there will probably be huge variance between plants. Even on the same plant, some buds ripen faster than others.
The good news is that the ripeness window is fairly large, and you certainly don’t have to harvest all at once. My last grow, I took 3 to 4 days to chop down each plant.
Be patient and learn the strain. It might amber all at once and surprise you or it could carry on forever. It depends on many factors from genes to temperature.
Good evening Overgrow 2.0,
So 2 nights ago I had to spray Green Cure (potassium bicarbonate) for PM, and I got distracted and left the green light on all night. BIG MISTAKE!! It stressed my Chem Sour Diesel x OG Grape Krypt to the point it started growing the dreaded bananas AKA it turned into an intersex or hermaphrodite plant.
Sympathies for the bad luck. There are always more seeds to sprout and gems to find.
Thanks bud, I still have 12 more big ladies so it’s all good
That sucks… Mistakes happen… Good that you’ve caught it on time…
