What’s in the box or what is the value of what is in the box?
Value is standard for tracked shipping.

I have only been asked the liquid, lithium and other questions and so fast I don’t get

This is not "standard " or I would not have spent the time informing you. I went to a MAIN post office in a big city so there is a chance it has not reached to every nook and cranny of America. I will go back and get information so I can update the thread with solid info. SOMETHING changed since the last 500 times I went to the post office that is the point of the thread not to have you try to imply something about what I said. This was a ipad type system on every tellers station with a bunch of checking boxes and agreeing to long tiny print info. This was absolutely not standard in any way. This was Ai connected for sure. I will find out more.

Totally not understanding the sentence you wrote.

Seems standard in the U.k. Sending Valuables | Mail | Post OfficeÂŽ
If you’re sending your item at the Post Office®, you will be asked at the counter the contents of your parcel. This isn’t staff being nosey, we promise! This is to make sure the items are safe to post.

States.
When you bring your mail to the post office, employees will ask if there are any liquids, flammable, or hazardous material inside the package. It’s your responsibility to make sure anything you mail complies with what’s allowed.Dec 26, 2018

I would just answer with none of the above ( liquids, flammable, or hazardous material inside the package) or use a mailbox. You make have just gotten an overzealous employee who was just trying to determine if you followed shipping rules and asked in a strange way or in a way that was quicker in their eyes to the alternative like any batteries in the box ( no) any Liquids ( no) and so forth.
they could have just been being folksy.

Bud that’s just a computer, the post office uses computers now. You’re sounding pretty paranoid man, are you sure you didn’t just reek of weed when you walked in?

Is this the stuff where they ask if you’re sending prohibited items like batteries and aerosol? They’ve had those questions for at least a decade that I can remember.

Wow really? You believe a main post office in a major city does not have a prohibited items box to check for all this time? You actually believe I would make a thread because of the check prohibited items box that has been there for years? Did you READ what I wrote? Multiple pages of fine print and checking of boxes connected to some sort of new Ai mainframe. READ THE THREAD before you post OBVIOUS information.

.For the 5th time. This was NOT I REPEAT WAS NOT the normal , do you have anything liquid fragile etc

My dog sent everything for years. He’s gone and but still handles mail. Even had his own bait and tackle biz.

Relax. You really haven’t posted much in details on what was in the ‘fine’ print beyond it was on some sort of tablet. Until there is more concise information, people are going to ask questions and make comments.

The system was so new the teller did not know what it was all about. I had t click boxes for 3 min and deal with the ipad thing. All kinds of fine print pages . It was really different.

Il be going back soon for the info. As mentioned the people there did not have a clue what to tell me about what this new program was all about. Not trying to be a jerk sorry.

I believe whom ever you spoke too was going to let you tell them what you had and they were going to determine if the items were liquid, fragile, self combusting etc

For the 6th time This had NOTHING TO DO with the contents being hazardous. This was some sort of enhanced tracking info perhaps connected to the mail in voting or the ballot counting for the upcoming elections. That is all I can think of to warrant all the box checking. There were MULTIPLE PAGES, I REPEAT MULTIPLE PAGES of fine print info gathering and agreeing to terms and conditions into a ipad type system the people had no idea what it was for at that time. Il keep telling the same story over and over if I need to until I get in there to ask them.

Statements like “it was ai connected for sure” give big National Enquirer energy, so yes I thought it’s possible.

Was not trying to be a Richard sorry. It’s frustrating because I am trying to explain something it’s so new a system that it’s not everywhere yet. 3rd biggest city in my state so that could be a reason it’s not out there all over yet.
