. no pipes either. smoked join in my car at the beach house and 2 minutes after I walked in the rental property people showed up saying they had a report of a dog! there was no dog but the two houses across the street were “dream home” folks and my money is on them.
It sure does. It may sound strange but I enjoy grocery shopping in unfamiliar places.
Madeira was beautiful, small island banana trees growing up and down every hillside. Lots of cafes and walks, viewpoints ect, a nice slower pace holiday for the older relaxed couple We did a excursion that involved riding a wooden sled down a busy road from the top of the mountain to the bottom, great fun
Greece was nice also I’ve been to Kos, another small island with lots of boat trips to other tiny islands for BBQ nights and scooba tours ect, food was amazing in Greece and the beach
Egypt very hot and I went in December, the markets are something else and night shows with shisha pipes, fire dancers ect. The resorts are very big and luxurious with your own villa and private beaches ect, great range of desert stuff like star watching and quad biking
Not been for years, very overdue
My favorite place on earth.
https://www.scotchbonnetfudges.com/ do yourself a favor and order some of this if you don’t go I recommend the creme brulee fudge. Absolutely simply mind blowing.
It’s nice to meet someone that also appreciates a good grocer like we do, lol
Very interesting I’ll have to do more research on Madeira but it looks like it’s got a lot to offer.
Well it gets you out of the touristy vibe for a little bit and you can see what’s local and different and interesting.
Giant Central American passion fruits in the grocery store were a big excitement to me.
Floribama and the Gulf Coast is fun. Orange Beach…. Ms. LT and I have rented condos there and had loads of fun. Hilton Head Island in SC near Savanna is interesting too.
I’m not leaving my glass bowl broken on the beach when it’s empty tho lol
But rules is rules when you get caught
I had great fun in Alabama throwing benign jellyfish at people. Like translucent Roma tomatoes.
Hawaii is tourist central - but there’s a reason for that. Went on our 3rd trip there last year. One of the most unique and beautiful places on earth. We stayed last trip on the leeward side at an air b-n-b in Makaha on Oahu with my son. It’s not like Waikiki or Northshore. Much more of a working class community, but still drop-dead gorgeous with awesome beaches. Really felt like we got more exposure to what life living and working in Hawaii is like vs the full on hotel/resort tourist experience.
Yeah, it gives me a little pause. But it’s beautiful.
I didn’t know throwable jelly fish was on the list, the beer coozie is from a different jellyfish throwing tournament further north lol
What’s your preferred jellyfish density?
the kind that explode into gelatinous goo on impact.
I’m not gonna throw a man ‘o war at somebody unless they really have it coming.
These will do that. You have to throw em real hard though
I’m pretty sure jelly fish tentacles can’t sting your palms or the bottoms of your feet, so just yell “dance mother fucker dance” as you fire em off towards the ankle. Yelling loud absolves you from all blame.
If…
“Why won’t anybody dance with me?”
She is yelling at me now about St Lucia which might just get put on the short list.
I’m not suggesting any place in particular, but December is really a good time of year for the southern hemisphere. Weather wise, one of the best xmas’s I ever experienced was outside Auckland. That was maybe 30 yeas ago, but I expect it hasn’t changed much. Of course, weed is seriously illegal, which, sadly, is why I won’t be going back.
Can still remember going in there as a kid lol. fishing at the Frisco pier, RIP.
Just move to california and you won’t need a vacation!
Since everyone is being so helpful I’ll share one of my secrets:
El Paredon, Guatemala
It’s a bitch to get there which is half the fun. It’s not quite the sleepy little fishing village it once was but it’s a sweet very forgiving beach break. I had a blast. Nesting turtles, tiny little bars filled with very cool local fishermen, mangoes right off the tree. Awesome.
