Vacation Spots

Jesus Christ guys I get a butler!

Mrs Foreigner is not messing around.

Some features:
Turn down service
Beach reservations/shade reservations.
Dinner reservations.
Private pool/towel bringing
Dedicated beach area.
Pillow menu (whatever that is).
Will draw me a rose petal bath.

Ok so I made up the bath part but still.

What do you tip for that? I have no idea.

You mean: “Mrs. Bucket” right?

Does this include a fluffer?

It’s Bouquet.

This is why I’m asking about tips :joy:

If you want to be remembered, tip the staff accordingly. $20 once for drinks for a big group, maybe something at the end. The service was good overall, but if you want to keep things flowing a good tip right off the bat will make it happen. I know your mentioned you don’t drink, but the others in your group will. Also, make sure to bring plenty of cash for tips and other things. The atms in Mexico dispense pesos.

Yeah man USDs are king.

And agreed, my strategy is to tip very nicely at the beginning and then marginally later. That way I make a good impression and they are motivated to move fast for me :+1:

So weed, according to wiki the pedia, is only unregulated in Antarctica & Georgia(nation)…

But prostitution is pretty damn legal worldwide.

:thinking::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

So governments think people should sell their bodies but not grow weed.

Says a lot

:evergreen_tree: says a tree

I’ve been growing Glacier Kush for ages.

But yeah, it’s silly. Ten bucks says there are signs in the resort saying they’ll kick me out for smoking weed.

Well this thing has ballooned.

Mrs Foreigner and I
Her mom
Her brother
Her sister and husband and kid
My parents
My sister and her husband and two kids
My friend and his boyfriend

This trip has undergone some serious evolution and I think it means we do our own things and meet up for meals. I hope this is everyone’s expectation.

You’ll be able to find me on the flow rider or sitting on my chair outside the back door on the pool.

I think it’ll be nice but very different from my Panama style trip.

And I get free room service (plus tips) so I think I will make them bring me hot dogs.

Did u choose a resort in Cancun?

I highly recommend the Grand Oasis Palm. I’ve stayed there twice. It’s relatively affordable for being all included, super clean, the breakfast buffet was excellent, the pool area is large and beautiful as is the beach, friendly staff… but the best part is the location… its not in the super busy area of the hotel zone where are the kids are… its still in the Hotel Zone but the northern part. It’s actually right past the bridge which takes you from the mainland onto the Hotel Zone peninsula.

One tip for visiting Cancun that’ll save you a lot of money… learn how to use the bus. The bus runs all day and makes stops every 20 minutes and is super cheap like 50 cents in USD. Also in Cancun beware of the fact that almost every single person you come in contact with… from the money exchange people, to the shopkeepers, to the random guy on the street… they all want your money and will go to super far out extraordinary measures to get it. Even the police are crooked there. Never let your guard down… and don’t go outside of the Hotel Zone period unless you’re taking a day trip to Xcaret with a tour company.

Also… do go to Xcaret! It’s a eco-cultural theme park of sorts and was one of the most memorable things I’ve ever done/visited on any trip I’ve ever taken in my entire life. It’s also smart to book your Xcaret trip before you go… as most tour companies will pick you up in a big bus from your hotel and take you right to the park.

Hope any of this helps. Have a great time.

Check out the Mayan pyramids in Tulum if you can. We took a trip from the resort and spent a day there, dropped by a cenote then back to the hotel pool :call_me_hand:.

I thought the actual Tulum site was very cool but I didn’t really enjoy the tourist experience. Kind of like being on a conveyor belt but maybe it was just too busy that time.

Ya I feel ya, just one of those things that was worth seeing since we spent the rest of the week on the resort eating :joy:

No man really it was super cool but was kind of crowded

And you should see me eat. I’ll eat the whole damn place roof and all :joy:

Now a cenote, that I haven’t done.

And oh yeah we are doing Planet Hollywood. I’m going to bring my autograph book.

The most blown away by a Mayan site for me is Tikal. But if you want to get away from tourists, there’s plenty of lesser known places all over Central America. We went to Caracol in Belize…it covers 25,000 acres, there was about a dozen people there.

Also the Actun Tunichal Muknal cave is an amazing experience, though it must be done on a tour (I hate tours)

I was in the vicinity of Tikal but I didn’t make it there which is a bit of a shame but it wasn’t that kind of trip so I’m ok with it.

I did do Copan Ruinas in Honduras and it was similarly amazing but not as tall but most importantly we were the only people there along with some parrots. So fucking cool.

That’s one thing about Tikal, even with the crowds they’ve left the jungle there between temples so theres still plenty of wildlife around.

If I could do it again I would skip Panajachel and do Tikal but hindsight and psychic powers and the like. Copan Ruinas is a very weird narco controlled money laundering town which is in itself kind of neat.
