WHAB’s 1924 Brick Schoolhouse RDWC

I fixed the front to back movement, well…I prevented it from sliding off the back of the stacked benches.

It looks like it will need more stabilization. Side to side. And, I’ll probably have to attach the Slab to the ribs underneath so they at least move together when they move.

And, I see now that extending that stop I just put in to that front leg then clamped down to the stacked benches should work!

But, I mentioned the height of the Slab.

It IS tall.

What’s really cool about the BenchDog Fence is that I can just lift it out of its dog holes and move it closer to the front of the bench. And since all the holes are CNC located it will index in any set of dog holes I choose to use.

BUT…check this out!

I can square cut a 28-3/4 inch wide board or panel.

That’s a WIDE square cut!

Square to within 1 and 1/2 degrees, that is! winky

HOWEVER…I just noticed when I was typing 28-3/4 inch wide that I haven’t allowed for much IF any length.

I put myself in a box!

Edit Add: Oh, AND I have to move that task light! winky

I ‘might’ have to take it all apart to get up there! ROFLMAO

Two things.

@JoeCrowe, I got to thinking about what you said.

At the moment I didn’t think of taking something that I’m trimming anyway and see what that looks like at the desk. I think I can take something close enough to the ripe stuff (wanting to be ripe winky)

I’m cutting something. I might as well bring a piece to my desk! winky

Thank you for the suggestion, my friend!

And now I forgot the second thing!

It’s about to get sketchy as all get out here in a minute!

Not only am I partly atop the Festool-ish Multi-Function Slab with my Little Giant Velocity 17 but, the width of those legs are wider than the stacked benches they’re straddling. cantlook

But the transport wheels fall just right…as long as I can control their movement.

Sure this will be alright!

Whistle,

Oh, I can get 36 inches on the right side of the saw. tup When I need more I’ll move those boxes. I plan to keep going around the corner getting things better arranged.

I can see it’s starting to look something like what looks like something getting into shape!

This is what cost me 3 trips up the sketching ladder works…

See anything wrong?

Refer to first image above. winky

I did this on the first brace I added to stop the Base from slipping off the back of the stacked benches.

I drove that Torx tip right into meat of the base of my thumbnail.

I really can’t remember how many times I reopened it over the course of the balance of time I’d been at it!

Okay, I’m done.

Good morning!

Not yet, but I’ve been meaning to.
I’ve a strong curiosity to see what’s in there…

If it is conducive, I might try to ‘hack’ it. Hang a Raspberry Pi or equivalent on it for more sophisticated programming (but I’m not the best guy for doing that).

I was going to say you need a ‘spotter’ for that ladder, but I think a medic might be more appropriate…
How’s the leg swelling today? (That has to be watched closely)
What’s up with that ‘pouch pot’? That’s weird looking stuff.

We have these extra controllers, those that bought the Controller 67, that is.

I’m gonna take a look inside when I get a chance.

Yeah, there are times I need a medic nearby!

I was thinking of putting up signs saying, “Don’t worry about the blood, it’s mine”.

ROFLMAO

Still swollen, but greatly reduced from what it has been. It seems to be turning the corner, until I bang it again! winky

I was up on the second from the top rung on the ladder. Guess what contacts that last rung when standing on the second from the top rung?

BINGO! ROFLMAO

I took the back off of the AC Infinity 529 Controller.

I don’t see any mechanical adjustment under the hood.

But, check out the engineering and manufacturing processes to dust proof the unit…

That’s A LOT of engineering and manufacturing costs for dust caps (of sorts).

Garden II Flower Day 60

I missed the 8PM and 10PM feedings. I only just made the 2AM feeding.

Res. Temp.

pH…

I gave it a 25ml squirt.

E.C. bouncing 1.8…

Environmentals…

AC #3 75RH Test 07292022
1% Low Deviation
AC #3 32RH Test 07292022
6% High Deviation

After it returned…

I just gave it another 20ml squirt.

E.C. bouncing 1.7…

I’ve been playing hurt.

I was wondering what to do with this.

I’d knocked that pile down a good bit before this image. I was sorting the small stuff and trash. I was putting the Spalted Red Oak smalls on the stacked benches to the right of the Slab along with some plain grain smalls.

I’d prepared a reinforced box for it and another for NOT 2x4 wood.

It was about there that I thought I’d put the spalted smalls in there. A much nicer home for them.
I put the NOT 2x4s wood in there.

I got that crate for Christmas with Lap Blanket in it several years ago. I’ve never used it for anything. I’ve never used the blanket, either. I have at least 2 of those lap blankets - never used. ROFLMAO

Great use for it!

But, this is what ails me! Working back into that corner, then heading North.

I’ve been working around that 12 foot long Original 1924 Oak Floor Joist Since I took it down. It was repurposed as a handrail in the Loft before I started building it out. In fact, removing it was the first thing I did while there wasn’t any walls thought of yet. I knew it had to come down eventually. It’s a beast!

It never really got in the way - much.

Now it had to be relocated. Something I always knew I would have to do at some point.

Now it’s sitting atop 2 14(?) footers

Most of those bulk supplies will go out to the Original 1924 (or earlier - what is likely to be a) Wood Shed, literally.

That is the shelf that came with the Festool-ish Multi-Function Slab. I would typically go under the Slab. I have not been able to configure things that way.

I just pulled it out of that corner to do something with it. Trying something.

I’ll get that sorted out next. That 2x4Basics bench is pretty sturdy. I need to put some support across the middle, they recommended 1 diagonally…I’ll try that, but I’ll likely support it better than that…until I can build something else…I’m hoping it’s the Rob Cosman Woodworking Bench (a truly budget friendly BUT super flat, super straight, super strong and excellent woodworking bench that can be modified to your own liking)

Oh, remember that Lunch I was supposed to be having with my sister later today?

Earlier yesterday evening I texted her to ask her the time again…the date was made over the phone.

Remember I was researching the Cell Phone Booster for her?

In the above text exchange she came back with “But I am thinking you should meet me here. I got that cell booster. But it needs installed”.

Cell Phone Signal Booster system Technician at your service!

ROFLMAO

She did offer to buy my lunch and give me gas money.

She added (all before I responded to her first text) “I don’t have a ladder, few tools, and no silicone to keep water from sinking in”

I responded - Hi. That sounds fine. I have ladder and tools. I probably have some silicone, I’ll look. Can you send me a link to the one you bought, please? I’ll get a head start on it.

I did. I’m still researching it. It looks like it will take a few more things than just that booster kit.

I didn’t know the first thing about installing them. I still don’t. But, there are some “Best performance” requirements that may be difficult in her situation. An RV in a Trailer Park. 50 horizontal feet or 25 vertical feet of separation between the outdoor antenna and the indoor antenna is preferred, then that goes to the booster.

50 horizontal feet or 25 vertical feet.

timeout

That’s going to potentially require a mast of some height or asking a neighbor to let you put your mast in their yard.

Maybe this park has related infrastructure already in place? Maybe the neighbor has a mast already? :crossed_fingers:

IF not, it’s going to be a long day! And a bit more cost, potentially.

I was able to delay it as I told her I’d need to research it.

That ‘may’ afford me another day or two to get her Bookcase finished.

I was playing hurt so I could get back on that project in a space that is A LOT more available to the process.

I’ll get back on it when I raise my head later today.

Good morning!

Make it a great day, damn it! winky rockon

“Verrry Interesting” …in my best Arte Johnson voice…

Clean design and looks very ‘hack-able’. The single row pins (either side) are the lines coming down from the display board and should have all of the switch contacts coming through…
I see their bed of nails tester needs maintenance (pins are not hitting the pads well, almost missing in a couple locations).
I could give their mechanical designer a couple minor pointers on cost reduction…

I wonder what they were planning to do with the unpopulated section, there’s some interesting power electronics (Q1, Q3)… Looks like they use the same PCB for two different assemblies.

Cell Phone Signal Booster Technician Mode Engaged! ROFLMAO

Wow, almost 2-1/2 hours texting with my sister about her Cell Phone Signal Booster installation.

In the middle of it she left me hanging while she chatted with the ‘Manager’.

During that chat, did she once mention Cell Phone Signal Booster Antenna Installation?

No facepalm

ROFLMAO

Did she inform the Manager she needed a minute to conclude a discussion with her brother that IF concluded would get her nearer to where she needs to be - Cell Phone Signal related?

Again, No. Of course not! facepalm

ROFLMAO

This is a test. I already don’t like it. Needs some refining.

Shop Shuffle! winky

This where I’ve got to…

I made a cabinet - out of an old cabinet - for my router bits and accessories a few years ago.

You can see that Luan I used as the 'Drawer Slide"…

On the accessory drawer I used the “Tongue” off of some Tongue&Groove flooring…

I used the Groove off those same pieces to receive the above.

I left the cabinet behind. I wasn’t my cabinet.

But, when I got to where I was above, I realized I had forgotten to do something I wanted to do BEFORE I put that 2x4Basics bench.

But, two programs I worked on…

On the below, I lead a team that installed the first Flare Dispenser on THAT AIRCRAFT…that specific airframe.

That’s ALL 120 flares being launched at once. It was a ‘test’ of the system. I came out of a C-130.

I was told it cracked the frame and on future aircraft it was ‘suggested’ not to launch them all at once…

crazy

I had Engineering Authority from Home Base to make Redline Changes to their Engineering Orders and Drawings. Those Redline Changes were then incorporated into the Blueprints for future installations.

I had to move things just to do what I wanted to do before I needed to move them again! ROFLMAO

You’ll notice in the back of the pictures, that while I was back there AGAIN, I moved some of that bulk material out of there. I laid that carpet down in front of the Slab.

I’ve been eyeing these for a while. The top of the molding above the windows here. They’re pretty wide, considering.

After I got to the point above, I realized I could probably fit 2 images above the windows…move and back up the ladder!

Then these will be going up somewhere in here.

Two programs my brother worked on…Shuttle Challenger…

Shuttle Atlantis…

And these, my Mother got all of these for me…Signed and Numbered and framed.

And these, Signed “Giovanni” and framed…identified in titled in image.

She knew I was the “Keeper of things”! winky

I only noticed today that that picture has slipped down out of its mount.

Oh, and this…another gift from my Mom…

My most favorite place on this Planet!

Okay, where was I?!?!

winky

I’m going to get started on the Assembly Table/Bench.

Maybe a little tokie first! winky

I will get in the Bloom Room some time today to check Trichs with the Loupe and maybe get some shots of them under the digital microscope.

I do hope you’re ALL making it a great night!

Edit Add: Of course I forgot something. It wouldn’t be my post unless I forgot something! ROFLMAO

I have about a dozen or more 8x10 images in frames I put them in (cheapies) of the C-17 in different stages of initial testing. Load and Flight testing. I got them from the McDonnell Douglas Company Archivist. We were friends.

They’re going up somewhere!

test (2)

This empty footprint?

It looks like a 3 pin connector, I noticed that as well.
The curious thing abut it (besides it’s a poor location next to the sensor) is that it doesn’t have a designator… Notice the sensor connector, labeled P3, the motor connector, P4 and the 2nd motor connector (partially obscured) but I’ll bet a nickle it says P5 (just under the buzzer).
Another odd thing is it’s through-hole, the others appear to be surface mount.

Production engineers get ‘pissed’ when you mix tech like that (through-hole & SMT) because then they need to do a secondary process to mount the odd-ball parts.
That all adds up in my mind telling me this is an ‘Engineering add-on’, probably for powering up the assembly on the bench for debug and software development. Production units are the same PCB, just leaving that location unpopulated…

Here’s some of the 8x10’s. Company Photographer images…

Two more of my Birds…

…I’m not sure IF I ever worked on the KC-10 but it was built right next to where I worked. And, Management would often send me out to different departments to help in any way I could. They knew my capabilities and weren’t shy to avail themselves of them. winky I was happy to accommodate them. winky I truly loved the work and I was very good at it.

I literally worked circles around the Union Slugs.

They, Union Stewards, once pulled me aside to have a chat with me about making their members look bad and I needed to slow down.

I told them “That’s your problem, you’re on your own. Piss off!”

The doors were shuttered relatively soon after that.

Then, this…sorry about the glare…I couldn’t do anything about it (in here with the lights on).

That is an unpublished picture (I knew the Developer! My Texas Girliewinky)

Then these, I’ve been packing these around since about the mid-90’s…

I’m pretty sure the 2 little one I bought that same day.

But, what’s remarkable is that other than those 2 ALL the other were found in the lake bottom due to decreased water levels in the lake.

I was there, Pyramid Lake, California, camping and fishing for Trout.

Those Spoons and Spinners I found in the lake bed were what the Stripped Bass Fishermen were using.

One is broken, I don’t remember it being broken. Likely I have its twin! Score! winky

I thought, not knowing any better, that it might be a “Service Connection” where they’d be able to make under the hood changes. Sort of that an OBD socket. I don’t know any better! winky

I did find P3 and P4. I don’t see anything that looks like an obscured P anything else.

Lots of R’s, lots of TP’s.

Btw, you’d have a great conversation with my Brother…the one that built the Shuttles, and then also rebuilt a few. He is a genius Electrical/Electronic Genius.

I’m the Mechanical, he’s the Electrical!

He just recently retired - I think 30 years - from Boeing (or a direct Boeing subsidiary) as a Test Electrician. Last I knew he did Vibration Testing on something that went in Space - I know what it is it’s just not coming to me at this moment. It was part of the Guidance System…it had multiple Gyroscopes in it. It may have been Launch Systems related - something like that.

Here’s part of it - Inertial Measurement(measuring) something “Unit”?

Some of what you say even sounds familiar to me in just knowing my brother and his work winky.

I did work for Frame Inc. They made coded access systems for storage yards and such so I am familiar with some of the work done there. I had to incorporate what they were doing with what I was doing. Mechanical Engineer and Machinist. I hired on as a Manual Machinist but after I suggested a few improvements to their existing mechanics I was offered to opportunity to continue with that work while also doing the Large Batch Manual Machinist work.

Thank you, brother @Gpay, for the discussion! tup

That took me 10 min. to find the graph I made for AC#3 (it was under the couch…) :vulcan_salute:

If I was doing it for Documentation, I would produce a correction table as well as a chart, but for myself, I just use the chart.

The perfect sensor would be the unmarked 45 degree sloped line starting at 0 and going to 100 (arbitrary scaling). Then I added two points (35% and 75%) for AC#3 results and plotted that line.
The underlying assumption is that the sensor’s response is linear, it’s not really but ‘close enough for government work’… :+1:
I’m using a shortcut here with that chart. The proper way is to derive the data is by math instead of a graph.
For proper documentation, I would derive a correction table, probably every 5% RH.

Funny about your brother working on the shuttle, I worked with the same RH sensor that they used back in '85. It was a POS!..LOL. It didn’t last, we had to design it out.

Garden II Flower Day 60 - Pre-10PM Feeding

When I went in the room I was reminded of something that needs to be addressed. I’ve been pondering what to do about it. I’m not sure, right now.

What I am sure about is I need to find something better BEFORE I cause an accident, even this late in the game…I’ve been pushing my luck.

That’s just a small link chain with ONE of its own closed links opened up to hook onto itself.

Manipulating it by hand is a little bit worrisome.

I’ll see what I can do in the mean time.

I Loupe’d at least 5 of the 6 and still Mostly Clear to Cloudy.

And, with that knowledge, I’m likely going to do a Res. Change., I’m pretty sure.

But, I also have to get that bookcase done so I can save a trip, and I don’t care who is paying for it.
