If the mom was good, I usually grow a few seeds out, just to see what’s there but you can expect a high frequency of the same usually. I’ve also learned anecdotally, that I can run a clone of the plant that hermed and the clone might not herm.
But keep this in mind: If a plant can’t figure out a way to squeeze out at least a couple of seeds, it’s not worth growing.

All I’ve tried so far either molded or squeezed out a slimy grey goo after about a week. I tried h2o2 then a few days in paper towels, but I’ve never heard of rinsing after h2o2, so I’ll try that. I think I also scuffed some, but who knows. It’s been a few years since I’ve tried.
These were stored at room temp in a cedar box for a decade, spent a few months in a hot Florida shed, then room temp for another 8 years or so. So yeah, pretty similar to that Texas garage probably.
