What strains don't care about your tolerance?

Jack herer still working for me after a while now, SD and Cheese on cuts.

I love reading this, your review of the Biker kush’s cut-through power has caused me to order a pack of Karma’s Biker Kush V3 and, now I am also eyeing a pack of their Happy Biker seeds too.

Yeah the good C5SensiStar pheno’s I’ve had will cut through any other high, like a hot knife through butter, and there’s no ceiling. The golden colored Jack Herer flower I used to get back in the day day was the same way. Straight soaring high  I really miss that one. The 10k jack and other jack cut going around are garbage by comparison, IMO.

I like Cheese a lot but it has a short ceiling for me and tolerance builds fairly quickly too. Maybe it’s a Your-Mileage-May-Very deal there  I haven’t had any real SD in so long I can’t remember there. Original Diesel did the job tho for sure.

Yeah TK pretty much always does the job in a few hits ^^

OG Kush is the only one for me.

Differences in everyone’s endocannabinoid system can be wild. Me and my buddy get opposite reactions to kush, chems and a few other categories. Even last night we smoked some guavalicious and he was pacing around the house talking rapid fire till after midnight and i was deep asleep at 8:30 and ended up sleeping on my bowl and grinder all night. Ended up getting a solid 10 hours of sleep lol

The only thing I have grown that has come close is ECSDxOGers Kush.
I do have some Frankenstein in 12/12 right now that will be ready before the end of October.
I am really hoping it lives up to everything I have read about it.

Kushes for me have the fastest tolerance buildup and usually lower ceiling.

I believe the key to overcoming tolerance issues due to years of high consumption, like experienced by many long term medical patients, is something @SHSC-1 had eluded to: Constantly cycling through various strains.

Mono cropping is not a friend of your tolerance, unless you are good at long term storage/curing ;-)~

Rotating strains definitely works the best for me as well especially if they have significant different terpene/cannabinoid profiles. Sometimes i wonder if changing methods of consumption help too, like switching between joints, bowls and bongs but that might just be a placebo for me. Also consuming a consistent amount and not going overboard definitely helps too.

Also worth noting that the CB1 receptors, the receptors that are affected by THC will regenerate almost entirely within two weeks of abstaining from use, even with heavy users. Heavy users dont always have a full regeneration in two weeks but if i recall it’s typically the majority (over 75% if i recall correctly) of receptors go back to pre use levels.

While some folks have medical conditions that prevent them from taking breaks, even a day or two off can significantly reduce your tolerance. Im a very heavy smoker and last time i took a week off i could barely smoke without getting too high

After have smoked a few oz of a good one daily lastly, i still don’t modify or update my list ^^

But yeah you’re right on the Cheese, while being potent and fast to hit, that’s not the same oz than a SD. I put the smoke aside, i dislike to smoke Cheese i just like her warm high.

Original Diesel, and Sour Diesel if taken to 11 even 12.

Nevil Haze and several Hazes

Cheese if taken to 10 weeks

In my opinion alot of todays grown strains from the candy era are very weak or High only last 30-60 minutes . Like Soma’s NYCD from back then , was amazing flavour just really weak High , but flavour was that good it got a pass.

You hear this alot these days , how people dont get High anymore.
Its great to have multiple strains on hand to keep tolerance low.
Even the strongest strain you ever had , if you only got 5 jars of that , by 4th jar is way weaker than the 1st jar as you built up tolerance to that specific strain/THC and other cannabinoids

Do you have any leads on where to hunt for some good jack herer seeds or even outcrosses? Been looking for a while but figured it might not be worth it unless i come across a clone.

Man, I wish. I’d be growing it right now :joy:
Maybe @santero or @LED_Seedz
Needs to be from old stock for sure.

I have a far sativa leaning Jenny Kush (Amnesia Haze x Rare Dankness #2) phenotype (JK2) that reminds me more of Jack Herer rather than the usual Amnesia Haze that dominates the genetics. As Jenny Kush has a bit more horsepower (THC%) than those historical sativas, it can get a bit trippy quick and especially without that ceiling. Not recommended for a beginner ;-)~

I dont get down like i used to. Weed used to float me through the day. It seems more like a mood enhancer these days.

I always think of this clip when people start describing how weed used to be

Also recognizing that you have to do the mental lifting, you cant just sit around smoking weed, haha

OG/Kush, Chems, Skunks, Tropical Sativas, Afghans ** YES ** Get you hella high with no weird dumb/drowsy/drunk/headache/anxiety etc

All this talk of not getting high these days just means their locality is limited to boof cookies crap.

ya … variety is essential for guys like me that burn joints all day long. Right now I have 26 different jars to choose from LOL Some are gettin low though
I like to start my day with 2 joints… the first one is all for pain and stiff muscles and goes great with morning coffee… usually a hard hitting indica dom hybrid. Next joint I like to hit the sativa , energetic kind of profile so will reach for a sat dom OG or something from antenna seeds… currently purplelazerlite.
Then it’s all about flavor and just maintaining a happy medium till bedtime… right now that is either sour bubble , ogkb 2.0 or pink x ogkb 2.0.
But I mix it up most days and I like to blend different jars together to alter flavor profiles too.
It would suck hard to have to monocrop or even be limitted to a couple or 3 strains and glad I have a comfortable licensed plant count that affords me the variety.

@HolyAngel i just had to ask haha i havent seen it in like 10 years now since some locals grew it out. Way before i grew so i didnt think to ask where they sourced the genetics. i remember rolling a tiny joint thinking id get a nice buzz and next thing i know the whole worlds melting

@TheMan13 that sounds like a very nice strain. Beautiful nugs, great color and really nice trim job. Ive been looking for more super trippy strains. Trying durban thai hiflyer from strayfox in the coming rotation doing chem x triangle and triangle x notso headband now. Triangle usually gets pretty trippy for me
