yes, i mostly use a dynavap vape for everyday use, but yesterday i rolled a blunt (with hemp wrap) of some bargain $60/oz trap star from a dispensary. i’ve smoked and vaped it before and it’s mids but this time it got me very, very high, almost like a sativa though it’s an indica dominant hybrid. i find especially that using a dry vape on a regular basis and occasionally smoking works very well. it does depend on the strain though, and i hadn’t been smoking or vaping any trap star specifically for a couple weeks at that point. it’s almost like a backup bag but it really did the job when i left it out of the rotation, and smoked instead of vaped.

Back in the heyday of 215 a buddy had a Haze cut that took like 12 weeks and hella space. The Trainwreck cut going around the Bay around the same time was also special. These plants would always work.

I feel like i said that wrong, i smoke weed less to get stoned these days, and more as an uplifting element, its less about intoxication as it is about the happy glow. Im happy theres so much different weed out there, because we all change too, and partake for different reasons. Theres something for everybody.

some strains I noticed I can never smoke enough of are a lot of the classics and some new favorites - og kush, jack herer, african haze 11, northern lights, dread bread, panama, durban, some thai weed, gg4, gdp
i’ve been working on getting frankenstein and the crippie going as I expect them to be worthy of always staying in the cupboard - also am checking out the aj sour

Same here seems old stuff is just stronger overall. I dont care what percentages are give me a 15% thc ssh over any new 30% strain. Night and day potency diffrences for me. New stuff hits fast and hard but done after 30 min. Old stuff like ssh, g13 x hashplant, nl, etc. last for a couple hours and just more medicinal overall for pain relief, sleep, and whatnot. And most importantly the tolerance buildup is much slower imo.

Non GMO cookies mess with me in a negative manner so while I don’t care for cookies as cultivar I understand many folks do. Its frustrating some days going into the dispensary and seeing 1/3 of the menu is a no go. When I ask for heavy indica and tell the bud tender I don’t care for cookies the young ones look at me like I have 3 heads. Sometimes if its not busy I give em oldies to look up.
I love how SHSC structures his smoke variety by time of day and purpose. A tool for every occasion!

Totally get it.
I was hurt really bad a couple times and the docs have told me twice I wouldn’t make it through the day. I don’t smoke for pain, although it does help. I have to take steroids for maintenance and another handful of other shit that ain’t good for you, nor my mood.
I now smoke to be personable to those I choose to interact with. Just makes me feel so much better and that’s what I look for.
I like Chem91/SD for that and also Trainwreck is super positive weed for me, plus it always gets me high and lasts a couple hours before heading back to the well.
I need to look into that Frankenstein as I hear all kinds of good things about it!

Yeah i think itd be tough to rely on weed as a pain killer, luckily thats not my case. Thats when burn out is real. To me Its some kind of soul medicine, that has all kinds of positive side effects.
Chem and wreck are two standouts imho, they both presented themselves to me at a “when stars align” kind of way. Slh, blue dream and sour deisel, for the same reasons at different times. Sometimes strains give you something extra you didnt know you needed too, so its important to stay open to that.

I think some older strains might have been stronger but overall I don’t think that is really true on the broader scale. It may depend on the scene you came up in and what was availlable to you as a grower/toker. I’ve been growing since 89 and came up in the BC , Vancouver lowermainland and I remember the stand outs back then and through the 90’s before the mass hybridization really took off in the 2000’s.
I still find a pretty good variety of very potent cannabis out there and I am all about flavor and potency in THC… though I don’t put much merit in percentages from lab tests. You just have to be fussy and sometimes take chances but there are lots of breeders out there offering powerful cannabis that gets me as ripped as I remember getting in my 20’s.

I always thought i was just being too nostalgic about the old classics i grew up with. But last 4 years ive gotten back togrowing the classics, and i must say the high is superior. Now they cant touch alot of the new stuff taste wise ill admit. Everybodys diffrent its just my experience with new vs old cultivars.

I’ve never tried either one. I have some heirloom Bubba Kush seeds from Mendel’s that I’ve been sitting on for a few years. I’m always afraid of getting that knockout indica effect which I really don’t care for, my meds slow me down enough, I could use some boost lol. Motivational smoke!

Bubba is more relaxing to me than narcotic deep stoned. It has weight but it creeps up on you. I have auto immune issues and my muscles are uncommonly tight. For 20 years I thought you all were putting on about the power of Bubba but I recently had an epiphany after getting good bubba.

The Bubba here in California gives me slight energy and from my lab results, it is high in terpinolene. I don’t like it really because there isn’t much of a head high… very functional, but the pain releif… holy shit. I just am having some delivered today actually because I woke up with a kink in my shoulder a few days ago that won’t go away.
