What's Rasterman Growing?

I mentioned there’s a predator in the greenhouse. Here’s some proof:

I’m not worried about it , just curious. Last time I checked, when you’re outside the bugs occasionally just come and go as they please.

One suspect. Soldier Beetles

It could be… I’ve seen something similar but the coloring was different… I think. But I’ll keep my :eye: peeled.:+1:

Edit: I usually just leave bugs alone though, unless something bad is happening.

Here’s a Skunk #1 regular F4, courtesy @BRMTreefarmer, at 2 1/2 months old:

Nice structure. I took cuttings of her (hopefully her) a week or so ago and up-potted her. She’s really taken off since. You can see scars - the trunks of three colas that were never getting close to the canopy.

There’s no room at the inn, so to speak, so she’s going to be finishing on outdoor light.

Edit: You’re also seeing volunteer chocolate mint all over in the background, along with tomatoes and squash. That’s why I’m unofficially calling this unnamed Rockwell, “Among Friends.”

Here’s an update on my Decaying Alien Fruit auto. She’s fully cloudy and her buds are starting to turn. I’m hoping to harvest in two weeks. Then I can see how the cross turned out.

A few weeks ago I put a couple of green grasshoppers in my flowering tent. The thought was that they would nibble on leaves and encourage a potent reaction.

I can’t find any evidence they’re actually eating, but this grasshopper just shed its skin and is more than twice the size it was.

Interesting. I don’t know that I’ve seen grasshoppers used like this in a tent. Have you tried this previously? Always curious to see these types of things at least attempted. :green_heart:

Never have I ever read nor heard of this. I get the idea even though it is odd and way outside the box.

A potent reaction? You referring to potency or stimulated growth?

Nope, I’ve never tried it before.

The thought is that it would try to make itself taste bad to grasshoppers, and hopefully become more potent as a result.

You may remember the cross I made that I’m calling Decaying Alien Fruit, which is Mephisto Toofless Alien X (Northern Cheese Haze x Chem Candy) by @Cbizzle . Yes, I threw that pollen on everything.

I only made 100 seeds and tossed a bunch of them in a five gallon pot to see how many came up, and kept two. The rest are still coming up.

They’re going to be ready for harvest in a couple of weeks, but one was a stunt and I wanted to plant the next auto in its spot. So I chopped it.

I should have taken a picture, but this is all I got:

Maybe 15 grams if I’m lucky. It was still about 20% clear, definitely not ready. So I wasn’t expecting much, but half a doobie and this shit is fantastic!

But I’ve stunted a few autos in my time, and I’ve fairly-recently noticed that stunted autos seem to be a lot more potent. So this stunt is awesome smoke. It smells like overripe (read “rotten”) fruit, so it certainly lives up to its namesake. But I’m going to wait for big sister before getting too excited.

But if she’s as awesome as the doobie I just smoked, I’m thinking about doing some real breeding.

Stay tuned for a Purple Canyon hermspawn update.

@NDNCHILD found out how much I like Purple Canyon, and hooked me up with some naturally-feminized Purple Canyon F2s that made themselves. (He told me they hermed, but I didn’t care.)

I’ve grown quite a few of these, and if I just wanted to fill bags with good weed, it’s good weed. With a 30% chance of herm. But I’m looking for the strong diesel smell I got from the second Purple Canyon I popped. I’m keeping clones along the way, so I’ll keep anything unicornish.

Somehow, I got to day 40 and never once remembered to check for male flowers. :scream::scream::scream: These brown pistils reminded me.

I just went over the whole plant and haven’t found any male flowers though. This is her on day 40 (yes, today ). She’s a little stressed because she dried out and the tent was 94°F.

Looking good here. Stunted auto more potent? Interesting. Have you noticed this in other strains? Speaking with zero experience other than some autos I’ve grown that I don’t think were stunted, and are great smoke. Be curious to know more of what you think about that. :green_heart:

I’ve grown plenty of fire autos that weren’t stunted, @Jpaul. Like Toofless Alien, which was so awesome I tossed pollen on the next one.

Last summer I grew a Mango Smile that stunted and it was fire. Almost stunning. I remembered the previous summer when that happened to another strain. A dynamite in small packages thing.

It’s just happened once (today) since I started paying attention, so who knows…

Edit: When I said fire on the Mango Smile, it’s a great strain and is usually fire. But the miniature Mango was extremely potent by comparison.

Nice one! I see you’re still on the hunt.:grinning:
I hope you find the one you’re looking for. If not at least you’re pulling some good nugs for head stash or hash! I wonder if this one is reacting to the heat with those pistols or maybe she’s still hiding something up her skirt? :man_shrugging:t3:

That’s what I suspect. Maybe some flowers inside her flowers. But nothing else seems to be affected, so it could just be the drying out that caused it.

Exactly! :fire: I’ve only had to make hash out of one, and the rest have been reliably good smoke, so I don’t feel like I’m taking a risk. (I do have two other plants in that tent that are risks.)

I had a really stumpy Super Orange Haze that was really really nice.

Glad you’re working those beans!

I also threw that pollen on some Nam Kading landrace females I was running, and have been growing a couple of them out. I’ve got two in a 7 gallon in the corner of my tent. I’ll post a picture of them tomorrow. They’re past day 60 and have a long way to go.

This is another one of that cross, 33 days after flip. Right now I’m just calling it NGOPLE until I know if it’s got any love and goodness :fire:. Then I’d give it a proper name. 20240711_154946
