Intake and exhaust helped.
There’s some nice rural roads that go straight into the horizon
And, unfortunately, alcohol.
In that case, about 85 on I-5 going back and forth between CA and WA
Sorry, just divide my 60 mph in 24 hrs by 24 hrs and you get,…
…wait? Still 60 mph? What, was I on a hamster wheel?
@Gpaw, the worst being Saskatchewan, flat, flat and more flat ground.
That’s a big hamster wheel to hold an Impala
FL highways are crazy. People casually do 90+
When I travel I try and keep it around 70-80 mph. Left lane all day!!!
Except when there’s someone approaching behind you, I hope:grimacing:. Cruise controllers on ~78mph that force people to pass in other lanes are all on my HIT LIST dog!!!
Please get get over red rover
I’m always paying attention to what’s behind me @logangrowgan2020
Clocked at 152 mph by Ark State Trooper in my old Turbo Trans A
Also had a Yamaha V-max that was dam fast. I took her down the interstate one time. The last time I looked I was going about 140 and gaining speed. Then I was too scared to take my eyes off the road. Hehe.
Also did an “Iron Butt” ride on a motorcycle. I did 1128 miles in 24 hours.
It’s a worked auto . Just a gen 1 stock short block . 800 crank horse is about she can live with day to day. It’s my daily driver . I can pulley change and up injectors for more , but it’s not gonna go 100 thousand miles like that . Mine will . At 711 to rears , even with suspension , 20 inch and best tires you can buy , feathering under 50 mph is necessary.
She is pretty amazing . In drive , grandma could take her to church and never realize what she was driving. Flip in to sport calibration and manual trans , she becomes a different beast . Pretty much all she needs for daily driving . Can run 11’s in drive in total street trim with 40 psi in the tires . Walks the Hellcats , will not take the top Tesla , will almost catch a Jeep Hellcat from a dig , but it gets 10 cars out on me in 60 foot and I cannot run it down . So I leave the Teslas and Jeep TrackHawks alone
You must have got a lemon. I loved mine.
Yeah I bought it as a lemon it was a 2006 I think I paid 12 grand and had a bad transmission well actually it had a bad fucking everything but it was so much fun to wind out and on the highway she would haul do you know when it would make it to the highway lol I can imagine all sorted it would be a beautiful car I loved the interior and it was super comfortable I guess if I bought a 40 grand one in good shape I would’ve liked it more
It was super comfortable and fast as hell. It was like doing 90 sitting in your loving room recliner.
Yeah I can imagine mine was more like doing 90 sitting on your Honda lawnmower
Imagine how fast that was my Mustang weighs a whole bunch less and puts down 300 more horsepower to the tires. We literally embarrass M5’s on the highway all the time
I hated on Mustangs…until I got to ride in a real one.
I went to Watkins Glen with some buddies one weekend.
To drive, you have to do classes and shit, so I couldn’t drive that weekend. But brought a helmet so I could be a passenger.
One of the instructors had a race car he built using a late80s Mustang and a rebuilt engine that put down 400hp and 440 ft/lbs.
Dude, even the warm up lap would have made that lap the most exciting rollercoaster Ive been on.
Then the brakes got up to temp and he let it rip for half a dozen laps.
I was friggin giggling and laughing - it was such a good time.
Afterwards he said he took it easy on the first hot lap, then let it rip when he heard me laughing. He said most people get sick in his car so he goes slow the first lap just to check.
So yeah, now, I really dig Mustangs.
