Another week, heavy defoliation at day 21 and 2 phenotypes are showing. One tall and quick to bloom and the other lagging behind at least a week.
Getting hard to keep those 1 gallon pots watered, been doing twice a day and they are still getting too dry.
They look great @grotebag very healthy!
Another week done, some changes this week.
Installed a capillary mat into the turntable, it had become impossible to keep those 1 gallon pots watered since the weather has warmed. Took a few days to fine tune it but currently it’s delivering about 2-3 gallons of water daily. My ‘weed guru’ inspired the cap mat, he swears by it…good enough for me.
Phenotype expression shows stretchy & fast blooming, compact and slower into flower.
The taller plants look a lot like Pine Apple, I lack the experience to make a ‘trusted’ call on that.
Another week in, bit of a rough patch…found PM…crap, have sprayed Regalia twice, looks like spraying once a week is back on the menu. Flowers show some damage after the Regalia sprays, I may have run the light too hot while they were still wet?
This morning greeted me with a blumat ‘blowout’ on the capillary mat as seen in the pics. Still happy with it, just a little learning curve and the overflow was only and extra gallon or so. The adjustment of the cap mat sensor has so far been ‘sensitive’, maybe overly so.
Day 40 of 12/12, going to do the second defoliate this week, 9 plants in a 3x3 is too crowded.
Lavender and rubber smells…one of the tall phenos is super fragrant, noticeably so.
Hot hot hot!!!
Survival in the heat was on the menu this week, 5 days @100F, quite unusual where I live.
Tent remained under 85F, running the lights overnight is working.
Did the second defol, that helps the air circulation, PM is in check for the moment.
Smells nice…
Looking great.
Do you think they are similar to the parents you grew out?
Smells, structure, etc…
Most of them look like the Pine Apple mother.
There is one very different plant there…spaghetti branches, slow to flower, short & wide…think ‘red haired step child’, should be culled.
Another week, day 53 of 12/12, no great changes, flower clusters are bulking up.
Weekly fert today along with a twice weekly aerated tea, happy with results so far.
The ‘runt’ is flowering now, hopelessly following the others. Interesting that 8 plants are similar and only one is a noticeably different pheno.
It’s good.
cheating with the flash…
Another week, day 60.
Plants seem happy, flower clusters are swelling and getting firmer.
Smells & rubs range from lavender to tennis balls to hobo…greasy too.
Beginning to like these plants, I think with larger pots and some Super Cropping they could be good producers.
More cloudy than clear currently, zero amber…going to let these all go until they beg to be harvested.
Happy.
Another week, day 67 today.
All the girls are gaining weight, slight fade starting, leaftips are still happy so the once a week topdress is doing it’s job.
One of the plants has a few ‘foxtails’, only on the central cola…it’s been warm, yet not over 90F inside the tent, RH has been fine.
Some of the flowers are looking tasty, won’t be long, still no amber on the flowers.
Decided to do the F2 with this cross, going to use this run as practice for future seed expansion efforts.
No amber yet…having fun watching.
And then the wheels came off…powdery mildew wins again.
Found PM inside the tent a month ago and have been treating with Regalia weekly.
Doing a thorough check of the flowers this morning checking ripeness and I found PM tucked up in the clusters. Was avoiding drenching the buds while spraying and that is where the pest developed.
Learned a lot this cycle, going to try the ‘sulfur everywhere’ treatment after the tent dries out.
Hate throwing out flowers but I have plenty of cannabis, no need to smoke sketchy stuff.
It smelled REALLY REALLY good too…sigh.
On lower right…
Decent for 1 gallon pots.
*sniff…
Needs to be on an Overgrow T-shirt.
I have made excellent bubble hash out of plants with PM.
If they were mine that’s what I would do but it’s up to you.
Man that sucks.
I have been there.
They look really good other than the pm though.
Mix some hydrogen peroxide with water and spray those nasty bits. It will kill that stuff NOW.
And the seeds are almost ready, all in 1/2 gallon pots. Used 4 males, pulled them once all the pistils were dark. No PM this time. Hopefully there are enough to pass out, should be done by Halloween. Pulled 4 females out of the tent and placed them in the greenhouse to flower out for smoke.
Fingers crossed…
What’s that circular contraption you have them in with the blue mat
