Snuck a peek in the 2x4 tent this morning. Buds showing up to the party.
Great job so far, you might look into getting a ro sytem to get your ph under control. Canāt wait to see the ww grow some thick buds
Howdy Mrgreenthumb, thank you for dropping by! I do use my RO system to make water but one night I forgot to pH one of the pitchers of water that went into tent. Good scare once I saw her color going bad. Had to flush it and it recovered nicely. Lucky lesson!
Oh I see, I have made similar mistakes, it happens just glad you caught itā¦
Beautiful grow @BobHasBurgers! Nice to see you have turned things around! Big fan of WW.
Best of luck going forward
While the WW is still in the oven, hereās a pic I entered into Bud of The Month contest. Itās a Bubba Kush I grew, from seed, on second grow. You can also vote for it if you feel itās worthy:

Nice bud!! Good luck Bob!
Well, I didnāt win the Bud of the month contest. Heck, had I known what sort of monsters these people were going to show off I wouldnāt of bothered. Seeing otherās work and results was enlightening though. Grats to the winners!
OK, here we go again with an update on my third grow with White Widow. Kinda Meh? Maybe I lost track a little but these plants are not stacking the way I thought they should. The buds are forming long wise rather than just fattening up. Have no idea if too early, genetics, too much heat, grower inexperience, add possibly a few dozen more possibilities? Something is stressing them out! Also noticed what appeared to be nute burn. Last night tested water runoff on one plant and it was down to 300 ppm so I fed again and raised another 300 ppm. Spider Farmer lights at about 70% strength. Saving that last 25% for late stage. Plants do smell heavenly though.
My first grow of GDP was a single plant in same 2x4 tent and it yielded large buds! It took up the entire tent! Iād inspect daily and it would hand me buds the size of a watermelon (allow me this fantasy please) or so it felt like it to a new grower like me. Now this is going on and Iām expecting/hoping that these buds will begin to fatten up. Thereās no helping these plants with say tacos or chimi-changas is there? I can help there! Will return again soon with updatesā¦
I just wanna say that I canāt believe Iām into my 3rd grow! I remember the cops at my grade school terrifying us with reel to reel movie about horrors of drug use, passing around paraphernalia, sniffer dog found weed stashed in teacherās crossed arms demonstration, and finally dropped the mega ton bomb when he lit a joint and walked around for us to smell it! Horrifying madness! Cop saying something like āThis is the smell that takes you to jail!ā, āThis is the smell that takes you to jail!ā Well shit, we kids couldnāt wait to get home and tell the parents what happened at school today. Into my 50ās now, it turns out itās helped me both mentally and physically. So thank you for guiding me during my growing journey. While many drugs (particularly street lab drugs) are detrimental to anyone using, this beautiful plant is not in that destructive and deadly class.
Turns out we can all chant āThis is the smell we grow so wellā! - āThis is the smell we grow so wellā! Until next update, THANK YOU for sharing your expertise with me along the way.
Plants are looking real healthy, putting on weight nicely, great job so far. Love the white widow, might have been my first strain I grew
These girls are hanging in there. Opened tent early morning and found some of those pesky rust spots. Removed as many affected leaves and found the plants noticeably fattening up. Regarding the rusty spots, when I rub between fingers it doesnāt come off onto my fingers. So probably not a fungal infection. Perhaps a magnesium or calcium deficiency. Canāt be nutrient burn as Iāve kept those ppmās under close check! Seems I have new problems with this new approach of holding back and verifying nutes (PPM and pH) and water until needed.
good bud development, can you get a close up of those rusty spots?
@Mrgreenthumb, thank you for chiming in. Iāve attached two pics of the rust effect on some leaves. These have been cleaned up a bit but I didnāt run into this on first two grows.
Looks like a case p lockout, for sure, I believe you checked your ph. Did you make the adjustment, is it back in check?
Iāve figured out whatās causing these spots and premature fade effect. Itās TOO HOT IN THE TENT! Now hitting 90ās. Raised lights all the way to the top of tent and then some. Lights hanging around 16" from plant tops. Iām screwed on this one. You see, this 2x4 tent got moved into a closet space since last two completed plants. I removed the door to that space and assembled the tent within. Turns out the intakes are not taking in cool air. Itās just a big oleā sunny trip to H**L for these plants as the lights come on for 12 hrs. I try cooling off by opening entire front for a few minutes and even dropped in a cheap Amazon air cooler that uses ice - doesnāt affect shit! Will have to come up with a solution other than dropping an air conditioner into an already central air cooled room. In the meantime, I went back to my curing GG and sampled. Awesome effects and high. Second only to my first and only little White Widow completed on second grow.
Kinda went like thisā¦
On a side note, any idea why my home grown varieties never look like buds and nugs purchased at a dispensary? Iām talking about that highly compressed look and feel like the example pictured below. What are they doing to the final product to make every single bud so tight and compact?
Well these girls are hanging in there despite the heat within tent. Still adding daily ice to the mini crapola USB desktop A/C. Again, the PPMs have been kept in check and this is not overfeeding or overwatering issue. This didnāt happen my last two grows and still need these to fatten up a bit more!
As of today, Oct. 17th, 2022, available in Toronto, Canada, Uber eats delivers your weed to your door!
Most dispensary weed has been passed through a trimming machine. Thatās why it looks the way it does.
Your homegrown is probably far better than theirs, so donāt worry about trying to make it look like theirs. Rough trimmed homegrown is the best.
@firehead - Thank You for chiming in! I almost bought a little trimming machine for home use. However, I was a little confused when so many warned about those Trichomes being damaged and falling away from buds if mishandled and not treated with TLC. Then they want one to throw their precious cargo into a trimming machine?!? Practical and maybe even necessary when dealing with tonnage of product but Iāll stick to hand trimming my little private stash grows. Thank You for verifying our home grows are just as good if not better!
