Who owns an antique car nowadays?

I didn’t know either. Having been a teenager when the Mustang was first introduced, that vehicle definitely looks wrong, very wrong! Thanks for posting it!

Right on man. It’s been in the fam since off the lot. Now it’s got some stuff done to it. Look and works great for a hunting rig. Love the thing. Only about 100k on it and 50k is towing. Runs like a champ. It’s a hard top wrangler. On 31s. It’s a great rig man. I’ll never give that thing up.

Here’s the ‘84 Grand Prix, the “cruiser” of the garage.

My ‘87 Regal Turbo T the fast car of the garage, Hurting modern sports cars feelings with 37 year old technology, LOL

The Turbo T was always my dream car, I’ve owned quite a few Regals over the years, but never a Turbo Regal. I had some “funny money” to play with and put a down payment on an ‘86 Grand National in Florida, flights booked, rental car booked, car transport on standby. 4 days before we are due to fly out, this pops up on Hemmings 53 miles away. Needless to say, I HAD to go look at it, saw it, and HAD to have it. 18,473 miles, and Dark Metallic Blue, I was sold. Canceled everything, called Florida, apologized to the owner of the GN. He took it very well, as another buyer local to him stepped up and was bugging him, so he sold her quick.
I told the guy, “I’ll be back tomorrow morning 9:15am with a trailer and your $25k” it kinda shocked him, then he really got shocked the next morning when I showed up with cash, and my buddy, 1 armed Gary. This poor guy and his dad were nervous as hell, $25k cash, and a guy with 1 arm giving me shit and cracking jokes really took a toll on those poor guys, LMAO

@Kgrim the story is just as cool as the ride.So cool you still have her.

Here’s a few that I let go I really regret

The 71 rr was my first. As soon as i took it to bare metal I found a 68 superbee project for 1200 bucks.lol.

A few bad business deals left me buying the satellite, and then to the 69 with grabber roadrunner. The housing crash in 08 took that with my 401k.lol.i sacrificed that one to keep a roof over my head, lol.

Now I have ol bertha, and her big ass isn’t going anywhere.lol.That satellite was a 30k mile grandma car that just needed that PPG base/clear.

Beautiful cars!!! Sucks you had to let one go, but that’s one of sacrifices needed to stay afloat. My “Best” Regal was an ‘83 that I puked the motor in, and Pops installed a Hot Air Turbo motor out of an ‘81 “Sport Coupe” it wasn’t even close to the league of the Turbo T. It was faster than the standard 3.8, but not by much LOL, was still a damn fun car till I wrapped it around a tree.
I’ve always been a GBody fan, since that was the era of autos I grew up with, and owned. There’s just something about the ride that sets them apart IMO. The handling differences between the GP and Turbo T are pretty drastic. The GP floats like a Cadillac going down the road, and the Turbo T with the F41 option is definitely a “sportier” stiffer suspension that hugs the road much tighter.
Nice to see you’ve still got one in the garage. There’s nothing like the feel, ride and power of older vehicles that just can’t be found in modern cars.

i had a '73 buick regal, best car i’ve ever owned. had an '85 regal that was a close second but that '73 was a land yacht, almost as fun as my '76 caddy, may have been a '74, it was over 20 years ago. but those were all just under the 25 year antique title. next year i’ll have an antique when the truck turns 25.

Nice!!! There just aren’t too many of those ABody land yachts around anymore. Once I got out of the Army, it was GBodies for me.
Then once Pops and I started talking (I was 23 before we actually met) he made sure that I always had reliable, nice cars. Not fast, but ultra reliable, and he taught me how to wrench on them.
I’m the only 1 of his 4 children that has mechanical ability, my half siblings, well, can’t do much but suck up oxygen from the rest of the real working world.
Even though I met him later in life, he was willing to teach me, and I grasped things quickly, and we had a phenomenal relationship until he passed a few years ago.
He gave me all his tools, tool box, compressor, welder, and anything I’ll ever need to keep my old cars on the road.
I to this day, still find myself grabbing my phone to ask him a stupid question, and realize he’s not here anymore.
I was his oldest child, didn’t have him around thru my “informative years” but we had an unwritten bond that was unbreakable, and he really did feel horrible that he wasn’t allowed to be part of my younger years (mom had issues) but more than made up for it once we were finally together, hanging out, working for him at his shop, talking on the phone no less than 3 days a week, and tweaking on the GP to get it “just right”.
Sorry for long rant, LOL it’s just some days like today, I really miss having him around.
