LOL, I wrestled with that one too.
Nursery ‘X gallon’ sizes are smaller than real ‘X gallon’ sizes.
I basically gave up and resorted to sizing containers in cubic inches.

I purchased the same exact bag but 5 gallon, these are very good quality grow bags.
But do they prune the root tips? That’s the system you should be after. Can not emphasize that enough.
Enjoy your root spinout fellas.
Why is this important? I figure the more rootmass the better so why try to limit their growth?
Rootbound plants grow just fine.
That’s my point, more root mass by inducing lateral branching.
Saves space and gives you more of a variety to pheno hunt.
Gallon gets confusing very quickly. Litres would be a better way to measure pots if we can. Over here a gallon is 5 litres
One gallon pots except for the second picture with a bigger pot in the front middle. They all get a watering each day with full nutes, a 2L pop bottle will do five plants. Of course your mileage may vary. With pot the first picture is about three feet in height, the second picture are four feet.
I bet your house smells good.
These plants do not have much smell. I had a CBD plant a while back that had a definite funk to it. I lost the line when the aphids almost did me in (salvage the one Dinamed CBD plant). It will be interesting wen they get further into flower, maybe a month from now. But for now I am not using a humidifier for the house and it is keeping the place at 30%, which you know is pretty good with the temperature out side.
As I am typing this I get a whiff of the container of cured bud beside me. Have enough laying around I have to get to. No, no shortage of smells here. I am sure someone off the street could notice it if the first walk in.
I had an internet installer show up one day. Maybe mid thirties dude, I open the door and he cracks the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. I think my house smells like pot.
So you got free cable with it, huh?
Nope. He just came here and did what he was supposed to do. The audacity.
One gallon pots are fantastic and I use them. I veg until my space is full and that depends upon the strain… some sour/chemmy plants may need to veg as little as a week while some like bubba may need two months. This picture of the mother room at Compassionate Caregivers shows a sea of plants in 1 gallon pots with a 60/40 mix of coco and hydroton which were watered via flood and drain once per day. The pots were packed in to 4x8 trays as densely as we could get them, right next to each other with no space between the pots.
These beasts are in 3/4 full one gallon bags. Don’t need much medium to grow big plants. In coco. Watered once a day.
This one in half full bag
These little ladies are in pots that are under 1 gallon with the 3 in the back being in 5 gallon. Seems folks were totally correct, can defiantly grow large plants in 1 gallon or under size pots. Just have to make sure you are watering enough.
And make sure your nutes are on point.
Guess one can figure, generally --1oz per pot size (at least) 1 gallon = 1 oz Now Pro-Mix offers a bag of their soil in a poly (black/white) bag believe 5 gallon - SO all one has to do is rip the top off - plant seed and start growing --FYI see were you have some “boy’s” in the mix - no problems with that ?
It was a reproduction run so the “boys” were the opposite of a problem but more a necessity
