The Cali-Orange x Durban lol

Well, I am glad you asked.

Recently, I received a most generous gift as part of an exchange with the honorable @Jellypowered, and yes, he did provide 5 Cali-Orange x Durban seeds by the now famous @Baudelaire at Fleur de Mal.

These will be prepped for the green house this summer. So, the anticipated seed drop date is June 1. I’d go sooner with them but I have a massive seeding project under way. I hope to pair these with another group or two of seeds, not yet determined.

I’ll set the CoD’s up on the Green House thread some time in late April. :clock:

Yesterday, I went to a jam session with a couple of buddies, including some guy with a name of @nifty16. Our clarinetist sent me a pic of his Grand Daddy Purple 3 months into veg.

Thing is roughly 3’ tall from the dirt.

(Had to drop pic!)

I hope to have 3 about this size for flip on April 1.

Some Week 3 Mug Shots

Space Candy 1 - Better of the two so far

Agent Orange x C99 - Still my favorite overall plant in this run

But then there is the Orange Hill Special Bag Seed which is exceeding all smell expectation.

Agent Orange x (XJ13 x Penny Wise) - this one smells a lot like the one in the green house last summer. :joy:

And Grand Daddy Purple - Man I am psyched.

Although the Jacked Up x C99 is smelling pretty good, this one as well as the Jacked-Up x Heavy Nolog and the other Agent Orange x (XJ13 x Penny Wise) appear to be the best candidates for edibles, all for lack of intense smell. :smiling_imp:

Enjoy your day!

Last week, I ran out of Roots soil.

@Muleskinner picked right up on my troubles and suggested I finally shake my lazy bones and start making soil. It turns out to be much less expensive, and probably better than most. Heck look at his plants.

Its pretty easy.

I purchased a bag of ProMix and a bag of Coast of Maine Compost from Muley, and had the rest of these goodies assembled.

1/3 ProMix
1/3 Compost
1/3 Perlite

4 Tablespoons of each of the dry nutes and blend everything very well.

Mixing your own soil gives you a much better product for a decent price. I spent a lot up front for amendments, but have enough to make several yards of soil left. Got any rock dust in there?

Just what the products offer.

This time I am going to play it close to his recipe. I have killed so many plants thinking I know whats up.

Minerals I suppose, yes?

the promix has gypsum and lime in there. the compost hopefully covers most other needs.

Yes, minerals and micronutrients, but they also help with pH balance and soil texture as well. I use about 4 cups rock dust per cubic foot of soil, but that won’t even begin to break down in a single cycle.

Add it to your worm bin, then when you top dress it’s already covered for next round.

that’s a lot, I think I add about 2 tablespoons of Azomite to a cubic foot - 7 gallons. 4 cups is enough to make it heavier! I had some nice local granite dust but I haven’t been able to find more.

I switched out the aconite in my recipe for paramagnetic rock (basalt). If I had to remake it and order stuff I’d switch out the perilite for an equal mix of rice hulls, pumice, and crushed basalt. All of which they have at buildasoil.

The frost is on the ground and on the plants throughout the Tin Foil Forest

Grand Daddy Purple with seeds forming

Agent Orange x C99 - 2 Shots

The Jacked Up C99 is constantly starving. My guess is it is root bound. It has begun to eat up the interior leaves. Looks like she will just make it, and the ripe fruity smells are pouring out of it all of the sudden. Me likey.

Its really hard for me to say no, especially when it is one of my own and nurtured by @Muleskinner.

This is an cross of Chernobyl x C99 I made a couple or three years ago. She’s really beautiful.
