The difference between my ethiopian banana x omg afghani “nectarine” pheno and ethiopian paintbrush x omg afghani “strawberry” pheno and “cherry” pheno clones is the pure ethiopian female mother that bodhi used.
They are made from two different ethiopian sister plants. Both are from testers.
I tested the banana x omg, and ran those plants from seed and then from clone for several rounds so I could give thorough feedback.
afterwards, bodhi sent me the paintbrush x omg as a gift for my long term medical use because it was such effective meds for my muscular disorder, and gave me permission to breed with both of these.
The original ethiopian banana clone from bodhi was given to doc d and stray, but bodhi has never officially released anything using the banana female. Doc d used it in his bananastan v1 and other hybrids.
the ethiopian paintbrush x omg is identical to the"god’s paintbrush" supernatural selections line that bodhi officially released in small numbers.
When it comes down to it both are very similar, but there’s an amazing variety in these lines so every plant is pretty unique so far.
The banana seems to have the potential to produce wilder heirloom type expressions, and plants with highs that are either very kind and gentle, or absolutely insane. I kept the nectarine because it gives me excellent meds, and is totally stable reliable and easy to grow. The high is kind of the best of both worlds- starts off gentle but throttles up to insane psychedlia with high doses.
ethiopian banana footnote
(2 of the wildest sativa type phenos would sometimes pop late flower bananas but they were totally sterile with no pollen, and some phenos would autoflower under any lighting schedule when the plants were old enough. I wouldn’t consider it unstable, but a lot of variation and unusual landrace traits to be found.)
The paintbrush version offers similar and excellent highs, but is more consistent in structure and yields- phenotypical variation doesn’t swing as far towards those more extreme expressions. Very reliable plants.
Bodhi mentioned one other ethiopian sister pheno called “spider,” but as far as I know there were no testers from this plant. I found a “spider” plant structure pheno in the banana x omg, it was a true creeper vine that mostly shot out lateral growth and snaked through the other plants, creeping up their stems to steal the light. It was very cool. I loved it- it was the wildest sativa high I’ve ever experienced.
I guess bodhi probably thought it was too unusual to be useful for most people.
