Well im about to water these 5 girls. Quick question, this early how much water would you pour in and around each. 1 gal for all five evenly? Its been about 3 days and my moister little thingie mabobber meter says its getting 1 notch until dessert.

Thanks =)

I dont know what moisture meter you have, but in less you spend some real money on one they are generally crap. Seedlings wont drink much water at all. You can tell if you need to add water by lifting the pot. As it gets dryer it gets lighter. If you do add water, water around the outside to get the plants roots to search for it. And do not over do it.
Looking at your pics your babies look fine. :smiley:

Not much…maybe…maybe not that much. I just eyeball it when they little…because they don’t have a root system of any size at this point. So just around them …moist

Im going to try to do light out with the same time i have lights out as i cant shut my closet door due to heat. PS im going to start tagging you if you dont mind. Love the help and suggestions you give .

I’ve always thought the plants will sleep for at least four hours regardless of the light being on. So 24 hours on is just wasting 4 hours of electricity. Maybe its different for autos. I’ve never grown autos.

There is a process plants go through in the dark period. They store energy as starches while they photosynthesize and use up those starches in the dark period. Now they do respire with lights on as that process is not dark specific but they are performing the process of using up those stored starches while lights are out. That debate is long running. I like to chop at the end of the dark cycle before they start building those starches again. Not an extended dark cycle, just their normal one.

Now does that make a difference in the final product, I cannot say for sure. I don’t find any real difference but it’s just the routine I got into. It has been argued the extra 4 to 6 hours of light does not really produce any yield benefit and as such is just a waste of your money running the lights but the debate goes on. I like to give them some rest, some don’t. It’s really dealers choice.

I’ve always done 18/6 veg and 12/12 flower. :smiley:

Me as well, auto growers sometimes just do 24 hours of light for the whole life of the plant. I don’t do that myself as I feel the natural process of building and using those starches makes for a happier auto. That said it is my opinion and not fact. The studies I have read said the added light provides very little benefit so I personally don’t see the point but to each their own. You can grow auto’s under 24hrs of light so it really becomes a choice.
