Well, maybe I missed it but are you using soil or soilless grow medium? I have almost no damping off issues by using root plugs or oasis cubes for starting seeds…

Typically I use promix or an equivalent. I’ve got a fresh bale of promix hp I picked up so i may use that.

All the best for your run @leetdood, hope those beans pop for you and no damping off. I’ve only had two damp off before and they were runts anyway. As a side note I was out of seedling starting mix and used strawberry mix and the seedlings loved it, mainly N and K but not too strong.

Hell yeah brother! This is great! Try watering around the outside perimeter of the seedlings not directly on the base of the stem. That way the roots can grab the water but doesn’t dampen off and mix in a little extra perlite

Howdy pal,
First and foremost, congratulations on your seed run! Second, holy fuck! I love Headbanger! To say I’m stoked is an understatement. It was one of the first strains that was good enough for me to remember the name. It sounds silly, but I smoked a lot of shit prior to that, and if you put a gun to my head and asked me to remember some names; I’d be saying my goodbyes.
For the dampening off; I always germ my seeds in an H202 solution for at least 3 days before planting in my soilless media. That being said, I still had 1 healthy looking Banana OG seed damp off on me. I don’t really do the solution germ part to prevent dampening off, however. I do it to weaken the shell while also killing whatever bacteria might be on the seed itself. It’s maybe happened once to me in the past with some known old gear, so I was a bit surprised. I’ve used a gibberellic acid solution in the past, and hopefully a more experienced member like @misterbee can touch on this (I believe he has a natural gibberellic acid method involving aloe, maybe something else) but I’d assume that may be more helpful towards assisting the plants defense against dampening off.
