An envelope method of sending cuts(unrooted), potentially across the border

You already did? Woah! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

At least it looks like one will make it.

And damn @Pigeonman, I think the postman drives his Grumman LLV 13 days, from my mailbox straight to yours.

Maybe 4 was one too many? They honestly look great., compared so some I’ve sent to places way closer to me. I’m sure you’ll have them into full size plants soon.

I do think they travel better in bags solo. :person_shrugging:

Can’t believe no one liked my basement toad. His name is Knarf.

Here he is hanging with a ringneck snake. :person_shrugging:

Sometimes if there’s a fly pestering, I’ll trap it in a cup for him. He usually misses, but it’s fun to watch him try. :frog:

Do rooted cuts travel as well as unrooted ones?

Are cuts easier to send solely because of the lack of root mas+medium? (Ie: space)

I personally think snips travel better but I’ve sent and received both.

Unrooted can last a good amount longer. They aren’t trying to function like a complete plant. Mostly I think it depends on the ambient temperature around them.

And cuts are definitely easier to send. No need to pack them so the root cubes are stable and won’t break or damage the other clones.

I’ve had. Cuts just in a plastic baggie in an envelope root just fine. They didn’t have moisture or anything on the cut ends. I have had more failure than I’d like receiving rooted cut. They just don’t travel as well.

I’m sure others have different experiences.

That is spot on imo

Ok yeah that makes sense
Roots = its a full plant now and it probly expects light and nutes.

No roots = no demand

Just thinking out loud here, im also designing a square holder for root riot slice to use in air layering (rooting a branch before cutting it off) and that should also fit in my Clipshippa™…

I didnt forget about you @rhino_buddy
I picked up envelops yesterday.
And i upped the p+k as suggested 2 days ago.
Just need stamps

Clipshippa v1 weighs around 20 grams so i may need to trim it down or get the extra 1oz stamp

i ran into this with several iterations of chopsticks and cereal box cardboard prototypes.
the weight kills you. everything you try to do to reinforce the design to prevent roller death ends up adding weight.

i was wondering if adding angles to either end will act like a “ramp” for the rollers?
< snips > rollers
i think the rollers have a tendency to destroy the envelope when they hit the blunt ends of the chopsticks.
bevel/angle the ends for solution?

@til_valhalla

I had the same thought
See above in my pic. Post 279
i added 45* angles to the ends of my clipshippa :+1: :+1:

Seems like you’re doing it right @JAYY_2the_R-O_WHAh . Learn from all my mistakes. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I snagged some p/k yesterday!!! It’s on!

And if it’s over an oz, just slap another stamp on it. If it’s over 2oz, just add a 3rd stamp. I was told by an awesome OGer, and postman, that they don’t care about weight until it’s over 3.5ozs. I think that’s right anyway.

And I agree about the taper on the print. I’ve been using packing tape to reinforce the ends over where the chopsticks might push into the envelope. Seems to keep them from blowing out entirely.

Maybe I should start tapering the end of the sticks…

right on! that’s what i’m talking about.
i think the bevels will help keep the interaction with the rollers far less destructive.

great minds…

@Rhino_buddy the cuts that arrived yesterday are still wilted in their cubes. I didn’t re-snip their tips as you had dusted them really well in rooting powder so I left them alone but now I needlessly worry…

…but I’m still gonna practice LITFA though as they are under a dome at 99% RH so what happens is what’s gonna happen.

I need to adjust less variables when attempting this. I’ll send more! We can try both. Maybe 3 variables. un dipped, dipped, and then dipped and cut. Lol. I do think the single cut per bag helped them to rot less because of less plant overlap.

I have faith you’ll bring them back. Just dust that bottle of @ReikoX’s LITFA off the shelf.

Next set of cuts will be loaded with p/k and will hopefully root fast and be greeeeeeen!

Also, gushmints cuts never showed @Pigeonman ? Went the way of the GMO maybe? Or did I miss it? I sent them b4 this last set.

Whoa Gushmints!

Nothing yet. Fuck the post folks are really fucking around… I went out to put out some recycling yesterday to find a postal truck at the end of my driveway. The parcel carrier and the letter carrier ran into each other and were chatting.

I was expecting a package with taxes to be paid so I was waiting for the doorbell to ring and had my card ready. Thinking I lucked out with this randomly I opened my mailbox and found the envelope with the cuts and a card for pickup… I held it up and the parcel guy was already bolting back into his truck knowing I just caught him doing the laziness usual and even though there’s a car in the driveway… he was just gonna drop the card and leave.

I have a doorbell for this, a sign that reads: RING FOR ALL DELIVERIES.

Nope. Folks just wanna cruise their work because their work doesn’t give them enough to do anything but want to cruise. :man_facepalming:

In the end the government took my money for letting something cross the boarder, and I got my new dab rig and luck had that all work out for me and for the cuts as they didn’t end up sitting in a warm mailbox for more than 4 minutes  :+1:

Will keep an eye out @Rhino_buddy and i’ll make sure you know as it’s not just polite it’s the OG way!

Par for the course.

My mail lady is great. We give her small gifts, and she leaves us notes. Ahhh Karen. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Now the parcel company is a different story. The neighbors had a truck blocking their drive, so instead of walking their package to the door, they just delivered it to my house. I can see the neighbors house from mine but it’s not close. So lazy. I would of yelled after him if I knew what had happened then and there. I literally waved at him as he drove off. Lol.

This is how we succeed!!
:mailbox: + :sunny: = :wilted_flower:

Appreciate you man. I’ve got lots of cuts flying around, and been busy destroying my body doing prairie burns left and right, so my record keeping is lacking.

I know, unimpressive pictures, but when it get exciting I’m usually busy. :fire::fire::fire:

Sadly the Skunk Tangarine is 100% dead. White fuzz all on the top this am.

Cap Junky isn’t too happy either with the Green Crack being the strongest followed by the GMO.

I’ll try to resend her @Pigeonman. I bet you’ll enjoy it after reading Greasy’s review. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m just about to toss mine into flower, but he’s not wrong. Such a finicky plant.

Hope the other 3 pull through. I think no root powder is probably the way to go. Thoughts?

You would have to rule out snipping the end of on arriving first , as it may have been a uptake problem , why cuts stayed droopy

I use clonex and I always snip ends after slathering so as not to hinder uptake / turgor

Yeah no rooting powder. Makes it easier to make a fresh cut.

Also if it helps the cuts that are having the most difficult were the ones that had a bend in their stems. Not a total bend but a wave to fit.

May have stressed out areas as pinch points.

Have ya’ll thought to put them in Aloe gel first?
It helps with root growth. It’s a gel, so might adhere better.
Just a thought…
