The big bud I’ve got will put you in the sleep zone.
ALL of the following are listed as “Anti-Insomnia Strains”: Tahoe OG Kush, Purple Kush, Afgoo, White Widow, G13, Kosher Kush, Afghan Kush, N. Lights, Critical Kush, God’s Gift, Cannatonic, The Black, GDP, Blue Cheese, Grape Ape, Kandahar, and BOG Bubble. EVERYONE, SS/BW…mister
Nice… I’ll have to look into it
Great info! I have crosses with a number of these! Extremely helpful!
I’m wondering if anyone here has tried Top Dawg’s Dirty Taxi. I asked JJ if he had a good “sleep” strain and he recommended Dirty Taxi. So I ordered it a couple of weeks ago. I want to get the Hibernate and Orange Grove going before I start Dirty Taxi. Just curious if anyone has tried it.
I do not know these strains…good chance any of the others may work
MAC makes me nap
Stay safe/be well…mister
If anyone in the US has or finds a cut of gods gift let me know! One of the better smokes I’ve had in a long time and I can’t find a cut of it. I have others to trade with once I exterminate all traces of pests in my grow.
people who dont have real insomnia may think its easier to fall asleep then the person who has it,
I smoke indicas and take multiple Valium and end up staying up all night, pain can make the insomnia worse
I usually go with ten to thirty percent amber. Does anyone else find a long cure helps? Like a year long cure…
Yes, it definitely improves the medicinal qualities (for insomnia) to allow them to age/cure longer based on my observations.
I know it’s not a strain suggestion, but cbn should help with insomnia in general. Any strain with thc can make it if you decarb too long on purpose.
Indeed, it does. I did an experiment where I slow cooked some higher-CBN buds in oil for 48 hours to convert as much THC into it as possible. What I learned was too much CBN will actually make you feel pretty sick and is not beneficial.
So what would be the ideal percentage of amber trichomes?
I prefer the 30-40% range.
Can be strain dependent. The white widow I grew back in the day was just approaching the couch lock territory around 40-50%. At 75% (some were beyond amber and were reddish) it made me groggy and gave me joint and mussel aches.
Strange for a developed medical strange.
Stuff was strictly medicinal.
The real first issue stuff anyway, couldn’t stand to partake in it.
Quite possibly the strongest I’ve ever smoked.
Ture, but not even just variety/strain dependent but cultivar/clone dependent. For example, you pop a seed lot of Orange Grove… Maybe plants #1, #2, and #3 would benefit from curing while plants #4, #5, and #6 wouldn’t.
The long cure really does make a difference. Though in my case the long cure is mandatory to get the chlorophyll out and let the sweet smells take over.
I’ll let my plants get to about 40-60% amber when I want a sedative effect to help with mood regulation. The same seed stock if i grow it to only about 25% amber or harvest it at wherever the amber is once the clear thrichomes transition to cloudy and the smell is so strong it burns my nose instantly before I can get close. That is when I want a more Sativa high, but I need to treat pain as well.
In my experience as well I’ve found that the longer the plant grows the less pain it can treat. I’m not particularly benefited by CBD as ibuprofen does the exact same thing as it and for longer when all I need is an anti-inflammatory. For nerve/back pain nothing to date I’ve tried for cannabinoid isolates/distillates has helped my back, neck, and knee pain like CBG and unless the strain you grow is naturally high in it at maturity it’s probably better to harvest as early as you’re comfortable doing to maintain CBG levels if you need to treat nerve pain.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but unless I’m relatively nerve pain free I can’t sleep until I crash from exhaustion. Even then I wake up every hour or so having to adjust my body position just to relieve pain in my back.
CBG and CBC have been so far to date the only way the last few months I’ve slept through the night without constantly waking up in pain. THC helps to a degree, but it can only help nerve pain so much. CBN I try to keep under 100mg or so a day. Some days stress makes me be completely unable to benefit from any of this as most of it is going to antipsychotic uses and the treatment of body reactions to eating stress. Those days need my entire CBN supply.
@OniTenshu that’s interesting because I grew three tashkenti hash plants which were supposed to be great for pain relief but I didn’t find that to be so true. I checked them for CBD with the lye test me they had almost none
I kept on female back and re-vegged her and cannot bring myself to kill her. I sent her to he green house because she was hermied inside after several stresses
She seems much better now
I’m wondering if I need to choose an earlier flower for her next time.
