Obsessive OG member from 02-03ish here! Was devistated when I lost the OG family! Just found out it was back! So ecstatic!!! Just in time for my state to go rec and med home grow! Wooo! Excited to get back in the swing of thing! Also… you can get some kinda badge for this?

Strange…for some reason i decided to search what had happened to overgrow, and one of those links lead me here. i did not know this site existed, new overgrow that is. I’m an original member of the old Overgrow. i joined in 2004, right around the investigation it seems which is funny, lemme explain…back then i went by pabloescobar9. i know this handle sounds Gey AF now, but back then no one knew who pablo escobar was unless your read a book called “killing pablo” by Mark Bowden, same writer of “Black Hawk Down”. so the funny thing is i got arrested by Union Township PD (Cincinnati, Ohio) for growing. handyman entered my home illegally after getting complaints of a leak from the people below ( i was doing Hydroponics) and spotted my grow and called the cops. so i went to jail and bailed out the next day. Overgrow was a tight community back, people were respectful and kind to each other. Nothing at all like sites of today. When i got out, first thing i did was go home and log on to warn everyone on OG that i had been busted and there was a good chance they had been tapping my PC so to clear their PC’s of messages, links, evidence etc…turns out i was right, they had tapped my PC but AFTER they had busted me. they saw my post which pissed off the judge, DA, and obviously the cops who i had referred to as “keystone cops”, a reference to bumbling law enforcement. i was a first time offender, member of the US ARMY, pillar of the community and i lost it all because despite it being only 26 plants, 20 of which were babies they hit me with a 3rd degree felony and would not budge because of my comments online. i got 5 years probation and a 5000$ fine, but i lost my job as a surgical tech and found myself selling gym memberships and sleeping in my friends garage to just to get by.
13 years later ii am 43yo and with some hard work and determination i got it all back… i now live in Oakland California, my home state.
i work 2-3 days a week assisting a local nationally recognized surgeon who specializes in shoulder replacement surgery, and the reason i only work 2-3 days a week is because i own and operate a legal state licensed Hydroponic farm. (Check me out at IG@relentlesshydroponics) Iv’e often thought about sending Officer Sean Zint (the douche who busted me and called my boss) a postcard of me in the middle of my farm holding up my license and a proud middle finger, someday i suppose.
By any chance are there any OG’s from OG on here that remember my post? i would imagine something like a posting warning about cops would stand out in someone’s memory. would love to hear from you and share memories!

was hanging around OG in the olden days (never been a great contributor though) and only just now realized the site is kind of back, at least the old spirit seems to be present from what I see from a little lurking. Kind of co-founded a german forum some 20 years ago that went to shits later, and contributed a little to another place after that but never saw anything like the old OG ever since. Kind of followed the Zeitgeist in that I stopped combusting a couple years ago and run LED Growlights since 2 years. Apart from that, like most elderly people I feel like a young person in an old persons body.

Yes, old OG had unique vibe and spirit and I’m sure we all agree with that… Sometimes I wonder if it is just human tendency to idealize memories in order to survive in good psychological condition, but I have only great memories to my participation on OG1… We were young and felt like pioneers
