lol you just wait till you see me redneck design for humidity boost!

I run at 40% humidity in climate controlled, dont make no diff.

I’m trying to keep my humidity down, and in so doing, I keep my temps down as well. Everything is still well within acceptable range, yes. I just am trying to work towards the ideal.

Everything looks good, I just know I can do better. I would like co2 eventually.

if you grow in a basement there is little need to supplement with much CO2 since there is a higher density of CO2 in most people’s basements than they realize. Those CO2 mushroom bags work well without much fuss or muss or cost.

It would be awesome to have a huge, grow basement.

@Badger. Yes it is!! Lol. Not huge, but around 1500 sq ft to play with.

Not huge? Shoot! You can fling alot of tents around that thing bro!

So we are mostly up potted and ready to go, somewhere.

After taking clones, some of these plants look rough. The lighting sucks, I know.

The paralyzers. One has not shown sex yet, we will see.

Here is the group. All the female pararalyzers, blue kush, triple durbans, and durban x kullus. 3 in front that haven’t shown sex yet.

Nice looking plants @Badger. For somebody who hadn’t grown in umpteen years, you seem to have picked back up just fine. :grinning:

So, I have a KNF question. I have 5.7oz of crushed eggshells.

According to Chris Trump, I need to cook them in a skillet over medium heat until they’re almost burnt, 45 minutes to 1 hour. Then I slowly add them to a glass jar that’s 2/3 full of Apple Cider Vinegar at a 1:10 ratio by weight. (Wouldn’t a 1:10 ratio mean I’d need 57 ounces of vinegar? That seems like a shitload of vinegar to me.

Anyway, once the shells have been added to some amount of vinegar, I cap the jar with a couple of coffee filters, and wait for it to stop bubbling.

Does that sound about right? I’ve tried this twice before, and both times it was a complete fail. Mine bubbled about 30 minutes and that was it. This time I did some prep work, and pulled the membranes out of the shells myself, as cooking them off didn’t seem to work.

But, given what a huge PITA it is, I’d be really happy if it worked this time. Please let me know if I’m missing something.

Thanks. :vulcan_salute:

Sounds like you are mixing up volume and weight. It is much easier to work in grams. One gram of water is roughly one ml of water. So… 5.7 oz (weight) of egg shells is about 162 grams. So you would need 1620 ml at a 10:1 which is about 54 fluid ounces. Or just shy of 1/2 gallon…

Guess it’s not that far off from your 57 oz. If you wanted to be precise, use weights.

Thanks man!!

Besides that mixup, sounds good buddy. Cooking them is necessary. Monkeyman explained it somewhere.

5.7oz x 10 = 57oz. Grams vs ounces don’t matter that much, do they? Although the way I wrote that is sort of a combination of volume and weight, isn’t it? :upside_down_face:

So then, I’d need about 25oz of vinegar to process 2 1/2oz of shells? So I have enough shells for 2 batches?:partying_face::partying_face:

Turns out a fluid ounces of water weighs 0.96 ounces. So they are close enough to interchangeable in this case.

Its actually much more fun if you just dump them all in really quickly. The spouse may not enjoy the mess though.

It takes me back to the valcano experiment in grade school.

Mine has been jarred since the second, and I just had to let pressure off. Apparently it is still reacting some. I used the good, organic acv with the mother that I take to help my digestion.

I think @monkeyman explained it quite well. I used a couple dozen eggs and after cooking them and powderizing them in the blender I measured the the thickness of them in a glass jar. Multiplied it by five made a mark and filled to that line with the the apple cider vinegar. Now I gotta wait 3 weeks.
I do have one question though. Should I put some molasses in with it now or not?

Not now, I think that is right when mix it with your water to give to the plants.

Edit: yup, right in with the water you’re gonna water with.

Alright cool! Do you or @Tinytuttle, or @ReikoX have any organic fulvic/humic acid recipes?

Maybe, I think you can get a good mix of those in a good compost. They may have more to say on the subject, and I’m curious to hear back from them and monkeyman on their view.
