agreed - it may not be how you planned it, but its how it worked out. I attended a seminar with Ed Rosenthal years ago and he proposed that as soon as they develop their first sets of leaves to switch them in to flower - that you can get more yield from six 1 foot tall plants with a single cola than you can from one 6 foot tall plant - that’s when the Sea of Green became popular, and it is a method that has proven itself over and over again.
The hormones ramp up as the daylight is shorter, you may never get them to ripen or it may take weeks longer than the reported flowering time for that strain. Remember, the hormones that get them to bloom in the first place develops in the dark period.
The shorter photoperiod signals the plant that “winter” is coming. However, at this point it becomes a tradeoff because the plant is getting less time to photosynthesize each day, and the buds are going to be smaller than if the plant was given longer periods of light. The plant will mature faster, which also reduces yield. For land races that come from near the equator (where it is normal to have 12 hour days/nights) a light period of 8/16 is sometimes needed to get the plant to flower properly.
@OleReynard did you see this in any of your blue kush? She will clone, and has grown OK, after she got a bit older, she just looks frazzled. All the rest look pretty normal.
Doing pretty good buddy. Woke up with a body ache thrusday, so i missed a couple days of work. I think I’ve been pushing myself way too hard and just got worn out. I’ve been out of work for months, so it makes sense. How about yourself?
Chugging along with this gd back.
Had an mri last Thursday just waiting for results…
I’m only working 4 days a week but it feels like 30 straight, have spasms all up my back, I think its the walking the cement.
Aint been lifting shit.
If I have to drop down to 3 days, ill probably just fully retire.
Yeah no fun at all… shitty thing is that since those have been “fixed” it can cause others to blow out. Covid hit when I was gonna start the process with my lumbar. Just put that crap on hold. 20+ yrs in pain i can wait a few more months.
