Respect the feedback, but I still have to ask. You regard Doc D as the man (I do also) and he made a cross with a PCF cut so is the dude’s gear all that bad, or is there more to the story on why the cross was made?

Thanks for that, very interesting. Growing up in Humboldt and Shasta County I heard little about piff or Cuban black haze at all growing up in a heavily “grower” scene, as it rarely utilized any genetics that went into November+ but as a student of the plant and just a nerd in general I find threads like these fascinating and it makes me wish I had thousands of disposable income to throw at every seed that sounds cool. That said I have a few cuban black haze crosses being sent to me that I’m kinda excited about and this thread has just made that excitement more burning. Thanks for the information y’all!

Way it was told to me it was crossed to the A5T to increase vigor & potentcy . If that’s gospel I don’t know . The Piff cut

PCF didn’t breed the piff S1 or create it he just passed it around and sold the cut.
You might be thinking of the PC3 or what ever he called it.

As far as I know the “piff s1” came onto the scene around 2018 labeled as NYC Piff through mass blooms. It quickly got outed as a bag seed of CBH and picked up the name “piff s1”

I’m on a mission to find that amazing Haze I used to smoke in highschool just north of boston, the bud was from Nyc and my dominican buddy I got it through always just called it Haze, no specification on what type. It smelled soapy, catpissy, floral, “churchy” and just hint of sweet musky skunk. It looked amazing unlike a lot of other hazes that are really hairy and dark. The shit we smoked was very light green almost white just covered in frost. Last time I smoked it was in 05’ the dude sold it in a glass vile just .7 for 20$ or 3 .7’s for 50$ I remember picking it up crossing the railroad track on my way to school, smoking a bowl and being so incredibly psychedelically high that I ended up most days just wondering around the woods and never making it to class lol.
I said that to say this; I just popped a few things from Doc d that I picked up this summer before he moved to mexico. Just popped some of the Piff S1, CBH, Bandaid 4.2, and 1 Santa Cruz pure haze all of which are crossed to his A5haze/thai bx male. I don’t care how long it takes me to find something similar to what I’m looking for, but hopefully one day soon I will taste a piece of my childhood. I Just wanted to ask @nobodysnursery from my description of what I’m looking for, and your knowledge of doc’s gear, what would you think I’d have best luck with? I apologize for my ignorance but rather get some input before running the rest of the packs. Sorry again for the long winded message just really really dying to get some that beautiful haze back in my life. Cheers everyone grower love!

I think you can find similar phenos to what you described back in the day in all of those crosses if you select toward the male because Doc’s A5htbx male puts out those type of smells and profiles in the progeny.
If you’re looking for more of the metallic incense types with soaring effects I would hunt the Midnight Buzzsaw because the Purple Corinto mom adds lots of incense to the mix.
The Santa Cruz Pure Haze x A5htbx progeny that lean toward the dad come out similar to nevils haze.
If you want more of a wet basement black haze type profile then the BHix3.0 is my first pick.
The piff s1 x A5htbx and the CBH x A5htbx have the black haze profile too but they are less worked and have more variation.
I haven’t ran the BH 4.2 so not sure what to expect with those yet.
Also the A5 clone x A5htbx will be a good match too but those haven’t dropped yet.

Last time I talked to Doc he said he wanted to release that cross as well as a few others in the near future. I’m gonna pop the tester seeds for A5 x A5HTBX real soon so I will have more details on those to share as I go and I suspect he will release them right after the test grow and smoke testing is finished.

Awesome thank you dude so much that’ll help me out immensely to know what to look for. That A5 x A5TBX does sounds amazing!! Do you think he will drop those at GLG? I will keep my eye out for those… My bday is coming up next week and I was gonna get myself a few packs, but I think I’ll hold onto my dough until that drops. Heh you guys are late. Doc moved to mexico and isn’t really doing drops anymore. Not like he was. Few and far between now.
He was talking about releasing it last July but I believe the plans fell through 
he released A5 x dragon energy, A5 x watermelon HP and A5 x sensi star, but not A5 x A5/Thai. I would’ve bought it immediately. He was also working on a C5 x A5/Thai that never got released either.

Doc still has, or access to, his A5/Thai male so I don’t see why it couldn’t happen, even if through a third party or whoever is holding his male. Nobody’s Nursery above said he is popping the testers of the A5 x A5/Thai so there are obviously seeds out there, just haven’t been released yet.
