It’s my old brewing keg I got sick and tired of brewing beer every week so I put it to better use in the garden!
Well I was originally using the sugar at a 1 to 1 ratio to suck the liquids/nutrients out of the Hops but then I got busy and never took out the solids. So I switched to more of a JLF hybrid I guess. JLF basically stinks to high heaven from what I’ve noticed. It depends a lot on what you have in there. You might be able to add some EM-1 or labs and maybe that would help with the smell. That’s the benefit of KNF over Jadam is it doesn’t smell bad. I’m not an expert by any means so I’m not sure if you can get rid of the smell. I’d think some mollasses and EM-1 might help. But the stank might transfer over to your buds! Lol
I tried the curds. It not bad kinda like cottage cheese. I fed most to my dog. He loved it lol
Ok everyone, it appears I am done with the first post whether I want to be or not lol
I have exceeded my maximum amount of characters, luckily I got through all the core input explanations.
I encourage every one to read as much as you can and do your own research. Here are just a few of the resources that I used along the way…

I wanted to go back and edit in pictures as well but it doesn’t seem like I will be able to do that now so once I get through all the words I will prob detail each one in a separate post in detail with pictures
The Formulas and Application will come in a new post.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
I’ve always wanted to try organic sometime and it’s people like you who inspire me to start taking those first few steps. Knf and jadam were both on my lists to explore and your hardwork on compiling this make it a lot more easier in navigating through with ease.
Respect bro!
Outta likes as well…but I totally love ur work!
Appreciate the kind words @iceman! It is all well worth it if folks can gain something from it and ultimately pass the knowledge on further. That is all I am doing, I take zero credit for any of this.
Glad it is making it easier for you! that was one of my big hangups when I first started, every time I thought I had it, I found one more piece to the puzzle.
Once you start its hard to stop. Its cool to start with LAB or WCA or something thats fun. These you get to watch the alchemy and the materials change, and you can use them solo without a maintenance solution.
Once your hooked its easier to put a bunch of fish in a bucket and seal it up for a year without loosing interest lol
I think maybe the ffj instructions need adjusted to fruit instead of tops.
yup, you are correct, thanks you!. Hopefully I can do that without going over my limit
yes JLF out of whatever fruits and veggies don’t get eaten by me.
Curious if raw cane sugar is as good as brown sugar?
If it says cane it’s what you want
Crystalline right? Not the cane juice?
Well even the processed white sugar is pure cane sugar
But I know that’s not ideal.
I’m looking into sugars like this that is not necessarily brown sugar but raw sugar.
Does anyone else’s LAB finish up in two days. This is done right?
Just added the milk I think two days ago if not yesterday.
That Florida cane sugar looks fine @Kasper0909
If you have a Costco around, they have a good deal in 7lb bags of organic cane sugar.
White sugar is malnutrition for the microbes, just like us.
LAB looks great!
Ya even personally I don’t like white sugar. Wasn’t sure on the labs since it finished so darn fast.
I would take it as a good sign. Robust population
It is so great to have all these basic recipes in one place! I will be referencing this often. Gonna slowly build my arsenal of tools, will probably need a dedicated mini fridge by the end of it. Thanks for pulling all this info together!
What’s it smells like? I’m worried mine smells weird? It’s sorta like bread yeast?
Yup, that sounds right. Bread yeast or slightly cheesy smelling is what you are after.
