@HolyAngel That is confusing to me also, but helpful so thank you! I’ve seen strains that have OG Kush in the name, but most often I see one or the other. Since I cannot identify the cured smell on my cross, I can’t help but wonder what kush, OG, and hash smell like.
I’m just trying to look at my own plants and find which characteristics might have come from which background genetics so I can identify what I like. At the end of the day my familiarity is much more with the actual plant and smoke.
@CocoaCoir I usually pop 3 of each strain at a time. I like to have a few different things at once in case one doesn’t turn out as hoped. I also like to make seeds =)
I don’t like running just a few to see… Unless clones are being taken. What if those first few were the best one’s by far and the rest sub-par. Now you’ve tossed the good ones and making beans with the worse one’s. ABC for sure, Always Be Cloning

Yeah I think it depends on what it was crossed with for which name it gets. An OG related gets ‘OG’, a Bubba/PK/Suge related get ‘Kush’.
Basically, we have two types of plants that both go by Kush but the tall lanky growth IS that ‘OG’ look and the look the landrace ‘Kush’ plants tend to have. Tall lanky and set flowers, not colas. The squat leafy one’s can still be considered kush’s but they’re far more general-afghan in appearance. The tall lanky kush landrace plants come from a valley, whereas the squatter afghans come from a more flat plain area.
The hashy one’s smell like bubble hash. I haven’t had an OG cologne type smell pop-up in my grows yet, but imo, the smells don’t have too much to do with the type as a whole It’s a pretty wide line overall with a lot of scents in there. Probably doesn’t help most of our examples are hybrids and our best examples are likely S1’s or S2’s.

Really only have found maybe 10-15 seeds out of the whole plant wasn’t crazy amount but enough to let her go decent smoke makes me a bit sleepy and lazy excited to do some whole pack hunts now that I’m upgrading my 4x4 to a 5x5 with a 4x4 living soil bed I’m thinking baba kush f2 might be my first run with the new bed I’m making up maybe pagoda f2s
I think @CocoaCoir was posting old content from GLG for references. The SoL was a 2022 supernatural line if I am not mistaken. But yes, I am F2ing the ones I have currently growing and have a thread if you wish to check it out.
I just popped half the pack recently. I was able to buy a pack in the 2022 release. All germinated with no problem. Found a male within 2 weeks of veg. I did not keep him. I want to get a good look at the females first. Then i will do a open pollination with the rest of the pack if i like what i see!
I already f2’d panama x a1 x 88g13. DLA16 F2 is currently on the way. I also took my male dla16 to raspberry lemonade and dragonade! Should make a very interesting hybrid imho.
