Bodhi Plant and seed guide (Part 2)

Didn’t Doc already make a Lemon Thai/Goji cross? Like, using Bodhi’s personal Goji Razz cut? I’d just buy those seeds haha.

I actually think any of the GHash hybrids might be kinda cool to cross with the Goji. If I had to pick only one to cross it with, it’d be the Golden Hashplant. That’s a line that’s worth moving forward with, for sure, although I’m not sure how much more it could be “improved.”

I vote Gorilla Ghani and Beautiful day. Unless you wanna go in a kinda bx direction. Then go with anything that even remotely shares genetics with Goji OG .

Spilled Unicorn Milk #1 day 52 from flip . This is one of 8 seeds I found from a Mother’s Milk #31 x PU F3.

Also wondering if anyone knows of any pictures of the female versions of Bodhi’s males? ATM I am mainly interested in Appalachian females but would like to see any.

Wow thats a beauty

Looks great! Can I ask how long that has been flowering for? I’m curious what the PU male is doing to flowering times.

I have not seen an Appalachia female, but you might check with High & Lonesome.

It is on day 52 from flip . Neither of the 2 PU F3 crosses I have grown have been ready sub 60 days.

Thanks guys @LegsMahoney @anon85454369

Got a confirmed female love triangle about a week in flower. Let’s hope she makes it my soil is out of wack and causing all kinds of problems for the plants in flower.

Cool, thank you! I grew the PU F5 and it took forever. I was hoping it wasn’t lengthening the flowering times of crosses to more than 10 weeks.

From what I have seen and read I have nothing good to say about PU F5 lol PU F3 on the other hand has been the best purple weed I have ever smoked by far.

Thanks man! That’s really good to know. I grew a few Pillow Book, and I thought they were real nice. I like the smell on the PU5, but unless a head stash run I usually try and keep my production plants at 10 weeks or less.

As a side note, I’m taking down some of the BCSC NL5 Bodhi did (and I reproduced) and they’re really nice thus far. The first ones I took down were purple and imo smelled like grape bubblegum. I’m stoked to see what people find in the F4’s. :v:

That sounds like a killer smoke! Hopefully they come out absolute fire for you!

This thread shows some g13hp females.

That was exactly my thinking when I suggested the Goji/GHash thing. No need to start bottlenecking genetics. If I ever actually made any seeds haha, I’d try to keep the parent plants as diverse as possible. Goji x with any of the GHash plants sounds good to me, especially since that 88G13HP is a worked and (I’m assuming) relatively stable line.

What exactly is bottleneck in cannabis? Is it culling/selecting too much?

Thanks man! I will definitely let people know! There should be a lot of their offspring in the cannabis community now.

As another side note… I’m going to harvest some Blue Tara x White Lotus in the next few days. I will update on that as well.

No, culling/selecting is always a good thing. Or selecting is, anyway. I never cull plants. Google “bottlenecked cannabis genetics” or something like that and read up on it a little bit. It’ll kinda make you think twice when you see all of these assholes crossing GSC to another GSC derivative to another GSC derivative…

Lucky we have landraces once they breed themselves into a corner

Issue is most of the elites are recessive one-offs and the only way to make those genes pass on is to backcross to the original and/or line breed. We need to “bottleneck” to create anything close to an actual F1. Otherwise it’s just a polyhybrid and the seeds will represent any number of past parents used in the line to get them. Some “bottlenecking” makes sense, fuck GSC tho

There are some others who talk about it…but don’t seem to practice it, or else just release everything anyway.

Same here. I’ve seen people like Strayfox post on IG that they’re looking for testers, but it always seems to be when I have a full tent or need to break things down for a bit. Besides, I have way too many seeds already. I’m trying to practice active not buying for a bit so I can grow some I already have.

I like the Dazzleberry idea, but that’s just me. I think it’d be cool to see a back cross of sorts. If you wanted to take in really different direction, I think the Chem 91 SVA x SDDD x Goji OG would be a cool cross.

I’m so bad at this, haha, I just want to keep them all. I was re-listening to Bodhi’s potcast the other day (for like the tenth time, btw has anyone transcribed that podcast? so much good info there, would be cool to have in text to search through, I think @nube started to transcribe it…) looking for specific information… He did talk about what he looks for in males, mainly late forming resin on male flowers. Then structure, smell, etc.

I really think it depends on what your goal is with breeding. Should probably be the first thing to decide with all breeding projects. I think Bodhi and a lot of other breeders will get new genetics and the first thing the do is F2 them, for two reasons - to preserve the original line with no outcrossing and to see the expressions of the grandparents in the offspring.

I don’t personally see a problem with with crossing GSC to GSC to GSC to whatever, if that’s your jam, and you do it with intention and with passion and spread the love - go for it! There’s plenty of people doing that right now, and who am I to say that GSC sucks? Maybe it’s just not for me. Maybe someone will backcross gsc so much that I’ll actually like it, haha?
