You wanting one of mine too bro
Nice setup bro. I agree. That Mars Hydro SP3000 is a great light kit.
Hello everyone thought id check in with my first and unforgettable plant that kickstarts my hobby that I know i’m learning to love!!
She marks 5 weeks into flower tomorrow 105 days old…
she smells awesome… Looking to pull her between week 8-9 flower so still 3+ weeks to go!
Soo… a game for you all!
WHO CAN GUESS THE FINAL YIELD!! state answers in the comments…
Pics below with 3-4 weeks to go…
I’ll guesstimate 26 grams dried.
Lets see! il let you know when done was hoping for a bit more! But it is a very cheap cheap set up… weak light small tent and first grow!.
looks dank a f
Hell yeah!
You have the cat by the ass, my friend. Those look awesome. Nice growing!
After looking at my 4 clones tonight they look so bushy tailed and happy I’m not touching them at all no pruning or FIM or topping they look like they just want to naturally develope
Maybe some late stage flower defoliation and lollipop ping that’s about it would you all agree?
Thanks Bm
Sounds like you have been using that LITFA!
I have!! haha These will just get the pleasure of their environment and that beautiful SP3000 should hopefully see some larger colas than what i project on my first plant!!
That being said I honestly believe the first plant i grew will be a real decent danky smoke!
Indeed, nothing is more satisfying than smoking your own bud for the first time.
hello OG’s!
So as I venture deeper into this amazing hobby! I am starting to get my science hat on and dig a bit deeper into the very foundations of where growing begins for me…
Starting with my Tap Water : PH 7.62 straight out of the tap is HARD…
I have been reading that. this could be a bit too much for germ / seedlings from the off! Although It is not a be all and end all… I am starting to get all inspirational and motivational on how i can be an optimist and give only THE BEST for my future grows!..
Any ideas on what I could do to combat the very early stages and really dial in on my feedings…
I guess just feeding them PH correct Tap water for the first couple weeks is probably the best bet right?
Until they require a little more PPM later on only then i can add in a touch more calmag and nutes.
It can be a little confusing to a new grower because i find all sorts of info about making sure coco coir is soaked in calmag first before potting it… however my water tends to have a nice amount from the off…
Hope this might spark a good conversation / debate!
Thanks BM.
Minerals determine the water hardness/softness. Not PH.
I germ with tap water ph 8.5 and an EC of 0.2 no problems.
If your looking for “clean” water get an RO device.
Right… I’m with you.
So in response to my careful dosing… would I be right in saying it would be best feeding Ph corrected tap water? As I guess the tap water will have the goodies it needs early on… its just the Ph correction that makes it readily available to uptake right?
Thanks for your input!
BM
Correct just make sure to ph for your media. The seedling has enough nutrients until the first set of real leaves and then needs to be fed nutrients.
Excellent… I guess the next thing I would really. like to learn about is what all the 0-0-0 means in correspondence with feeding… ( I know i’m no scientist but I’ve always been one to really try to understand things a bit deeper than instructions on a bottle )
SORRY my tap water is 7.62 not 6.72 I will edit that!
Okay, so here is the deal with coco coir…
Coco coir has a cation exchange capacity (CEC) that allows it to adsorb cations. Cations are plant nutrients like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium that are positively charged. The raw coco coir has those CEC sites filled with potassium and sodium.
If you use the raw coco coir and add nutrients, the calcium and magnesium will have a tendency to knock the potassium and sodium off of the CEC sites because they have a stronger charge. This causes an excess of potassium and sodium and locks up the calcium and magnesium. That is why coco coir is usually pre-buffered with calcium and magnesium.
Wow yes… I finally just got my head around this… very interesting… I had to read it back like 2-3 times to picture in my head nutrients fighting eachother.
but it worked! I understand this now. It really is interesting…
Thanks @ReikoX
I like to think of the nutrients as balloons and the CEC sites as a sweater.
