This was done over the course of a year with my youngest daughter (lilinstg8ter) with the help of a web community much like this one. Experts and imbeciles all living as one. The only work we jobbed out was engine assembly and shop dyno tests. Full new seat and door skins, carpet, custom dash pad with molded in gauges, hidden stereo system wired through original am volume and tuner.

Full frame on restoration to GTO+ specs
Factory original sheet metal
Did all body and paint myself in local high school paint booth for donation to car club ( win/win).

Drilled and slotted front power disc brakes, high ratio power steering box, dual cylinder power brakes, new station wagon coil springs, gas shocks, air bag assist rear springs.

Engine is 455 bored and stroked to 462. All forged internals balanced and blueprinted, roller rockers and custom ground cam, Ram Air IV exhaust and custom dual quad intake, twin 600 Demon carbs, 6x heads. Restoration was done 10 years and 15,000 miles ago…anything I can help with Hit me up…:metal::sunglasses:

Beauty work man! Well done. I’ve got to do a lower rear quarter on my car soon. Currently building a cowl hood out of a stock one

I’ll have to dig up the pics of the 50.00 GTO hood I resurrected, had stuck and they went at it with a crow bar. Had to cut out inner latch catch and weld in a scrap one to lineup. Stilhave flat hood in case I ever decide to put on a high rise or blower…LOL, like it needs one. Dyno hit at 510HP/525 Tq at 5200RPM.

I was talking to a few guys that recommend I panel bond the new quarter piece on. I may go that way. All seams will be covered or hidden and no welding means no warping lol.

This is my hood project. I still havnt ground it down completely for welding yet. I was just test fitting it after fixing a bend in the outer edge.

It’s not as warpy as it looks. Between swirl marks from taking it to bare metal and ungroun edges on the side pieces it makes it look a bit funny for now

Nice, I’ve got a 92’ Saleen clone, rear seat delete with 8 point roll cage I’m doing for the wife. 95% ready for paint and assembly. Just need to get time ,money and energy all at the same time to finish it.

Agree on panel bond, hoods will warp just from sanding too aggressively

The hood will be welded… if it goes to hell I will paintbit with vinigar then clear it… “patina” haha.

That 92 will be a nice car!

What year? My first vehicle was a 1965 Ford f100. I got my foundation for turning wrenches for sure. I wrote a check for it with lawn mowing money. Nice truck man.

Nice! 6 cylinder 8s perfect for a first time driver. Mine had a 352, but with a granny gear. It was. More than I really needed, but could have been worse. Good find!!

When they passed the seat belt law here, my buddy had a 65 Chevy next to my 65 Ford. They were old enough to be exempt from the law. It was a bragging point for us. Who needs a seat belt when you are cruising back roads with a beer in your hand?
