That was a great episode! The potcast is super worth listening to, lots of good stuff in those ^^
What was interesting is that SkunkVA said he isnāt down with the D cut!
He wasnāt into the smell of it he said in that interviewā¦ couldnāt see why people dig it.
Iāve never had any ā91 - so canāt speak to it but I do like the D cut!
Interested, and very!
Yeah, I grew a pack of the Cobra Lips out. Hereās my grow thread: https://www.breedbay.org/community/threads/cree-cobs-growing-cobra-lips-in-sips.201365171/
Great plants, great smoke, especially from a freebie pack. I made and spread those F2 around a bunch and only have a handful left. Definitely worth growing just for the smell alone - dank overripe tropical fruit. I think itās like anything else from bodhi - lots of good phenos, usually one great pheno per pack, and probably something truly elite every few packs.
Itās not available anymore. I think itās been gone for about a year. From one of the guys with the Chem 3 cut who I spoke to (in that thread linked above), apparently itās kinda finicky and hard to nail perfectly, but if you grow it to its full potential itās some of the best flower heās ever had.
That was a good episode. If you havent already check out the Pbud interview where he talks about the D cut.
Hereās mine at the start of week 8, Iād say itās 75/25 cloudy/clear and will cut when I start seeing amber. Iāve realized thatās just how I like my stuff, maybe 5%clear, 5-10% amber and 85-90 cloudy. This lady now just straight reaks of engine grease. Canāt really describe it but if youāve been around people as they tear apart engines itās the smell of that thick grease thatās all over the gear boxes
As for a seed run I think Iāll hold off as Ive currently got 2 completely different phenos and Iām sure the rest of the seeds will have their differences. Iāve also got some Chem 4 seeds to run. With the Chenās being clones and specific plants and these seeds producing various phenos what Iām gonna do is grow out the rest of the D and the 4 I have and pick the best 2 girls from each and spray one of each with STS and make fem seeds of what Iāll just call a āChemā line and avoid associating them with a specific cut that they may end up nothing like.
Anyway hereās the pics
I forgot to do any prechop shots but hereās a couple of the buds cured and dried. The he other girl I sprouted is just about half way through flower. That one has a much denser bud structure and a strong astringent lemon scent. This one has a funky axel grease smell and a fairly airy bud structure.
I have an opportunity to pick up a Chem-D cut from a source whoās attending a genetics event at months end. Cost is $300ā¦ and a few states away.
Iāv never experienced an āeliteā strain or cut and have no experience with keeping momās, but willing to give it a shot. Maybe find another local grower to back it up for meā¦
Is this a reasonable price for this strain, would you pay ~$500 to aquire it?
If I knew beyond a shadow of doubt. Then I would kick out the cash no problem. But if you never smoked real chem d then you wonāt know. Itās fifty fifty. Blessings
Go with your gut!!
I agree with Zion . I wouldnāt think twice of paying that price if it was indeed legit.
Get ahold of Dookie Farms on Strainly or Insta. I donāt know exactly what is on offer, but I do believe this guy is legit. I bought a GMO (SMF Cut) off of him a few months ago and it is exactly as described. He can be a bit of a curmudgeon but very professional from a weed/clone standpoint - heās the real deal.
Sent me on a web search, ācurmudgeonā was never in my vocabulary until today.
Ha! Happy to widen the vocab - it will be on the final exam, btw!
The seller is on IG, 9500 followersā¦ noticed some of the actual āChem Familyā among themā¦ my gut tells me itās a real cutting.
Gonna see if i can get my butt up there and get it, but now realize i can probably do so at future Gene Traders events. See what happensā¦
Thanks for the input guysā¦
Farmer joeās is real.
Blessings
Well that all depends on why you grow. Me personally, I wouldnāt pay that but Iām also not into the āhypeā of clone onlys. But I grow for myself and enjoy variety and the idea of finding my own special plants. So for me Iād rather spend that $300 on packs of seeds on a BX from a reputable ābreederā and search out my own chem.
Also if itās just about experiencing the clone onlys and seeing what theyāre all about then it just comes down to what thatās worth to you.
Finally if your growing to sell then $300 for a plant you know will sell well is really a steal. From one cutting you can grow it out and have endless cuttings from that will produce far more than what you paid. Itās why people were willing to pay $10,000 for cuttings in the past. It seems astronomical but really that would be paid back plus more on one good run with it.
What Iām really trying to say is a plant/cutting is only worth what youāre willing to pay. If you are questioning the price tag then maybe itās not the right move. If itās something your really want and are just making sure itās a fair price well then Iād really look at it like my last example. The price may seem high but it can give you endless lbs for $300 and the cost to run your setup.
One of the fake chem D (humbolt seeds)
See I just donāt get it ( not being a experienced grower)
The new pic is my GPS Copper chem ( Chem 4 x Stardawg).
They look alike.
So are even the the GPS copper chem fakes. It all seems ambiguousā¦
Any commentsā¦I thought few month ago maybe a wee cross, but now having second thoughtsā¦?
Crasias
Flipped int greenhouse four weeks ago.
Lovely plant ā¦Iām ok wi fake.
PAZ
Some tidy gals you have going there!
I have the Phinest cut of Chem D and the experts agree that it is not the real thing.
While it is no slouch in potency, I have better crosses in my garden.
Here are some pics at day 59.
I flower at 10 on 14 off so they are probably a few days ahead of schedule.
Doing this, shortens flower time? If so by how much ?
