Yes, you are correct in your assumption :slightly_smiling_face:

Your plants are looking much better too :grinning:

Still seeing issues crop up. Some of the lower leaves are showing damage. Im thinking it’s a Mg deficiency. I could be way off though. First plants in 10 years and never had to diagnose back then. Went ahead and did another full change, but I think my nutes might be too strong. EC is at 2.1 with Jack’s at full strength (3.6g/gal part A, 2.4g/gal cal-nit and 1.2g/gal epsom). Should I add water until I’m around EC 1.8?

Day 47
8 gal reservoir change
Full strength Jack’s
6.3 starting pH, 5.5 ending
13mL pH Down
EC of filtered water is 0.1
EC of reservoir is 2.1

So, I was reading @Meesh’s thread and realized I was all focused on what’s going on with the problems that I didn’t post anything about their smells n such. They’re super sticky and really getting covered in trichomes. Not much smell on their own, but the stem and leaf rubs smell like a lemon-lime grape candy. It’s f’in delicious smelling. We’ve taken a few of the lowers and dried em and they taste pretty good and have a nice cerebral high to em.

No experience with jacks though an EC of 2.1 would be really high in general, 1.4-1.6 would likely play a little better though also as flowering gets near the end their uptake reduces

That’s what I was thinking too. I think my scale might be inaccurate. I’ll have to add a couple gallons to bring the EC down.

Edit: Added 1 gallon, brought the EC to 1.8

Day 54
4 gallon top off with pH’d water

Still not sure what’s going on with them. I finally got my pH in check, but I think the damage is already done, or it’s something else. Not the prettiest, but they already get you high with a nice up buzz after just a couple hits. Our broke asses have been taking off the larf and drying it. Almost has a candy grape/lemon taste to it. Really nice. Hoping with a better environment from the start the next set wont have these same issues.

Day 60
Did a 4 gal top up last night with pH’d water.

These are supposed to go 65-70 and the pepper plant is flush with peppers right now and can’t hold itself up so no more reservoir changes til the end.

Started a staggered harvest cause we poor and its already better than we can buy anyway. We’ve already taken all the larf branches off, so for the next couple weeks we will pull 2 main branches from each to dry. Either until they show some amber or around day 70.

Not gonna let this first round run too long as round 2 is already set up in one of our Aerogardens to germinate. They’ll get their own little Aerogarden in a couple days when my wife gets a bigger one for the kitchen. Round 2 will be two Sweetberry Cough Autos from Garden of Green that I won from The Vault a little while back.

Day 62, 1 and 0…

Wife got her new Aerogarden in, so the small one got bumped to the stealth cab. It is now an incubator for the new seedlings, Woo-hoo! The first round is on day 62 and will be coming down in the next couple weeks. Originally I was going to take em either way this Friday, but we have a little bit stashed and want to see what they are capable of. Round 2 can spend a couple weeks in the aerogarden.

Speaking of round 2… one of the two Sweetberry Cough seeds have cracked and due to their longer lives (claims 56 days flower, but unknown veg time with some reports showing 14-16 weeks total) I’ve also talked my wife into popping a 3rd that runs faster to give us a bit of a buffer zone while we wait for the main 2 plants to mature. The 3rd is a Double Grape Auto I got from @anon81143130, thanks again! We’re loving these white crack so far, so we figured it would be good to check out some others I got from Dank. We’re wanting to run some soil this round with a coots mix made locally. Hopefully it doesn’t stunt them too much going from the Aerogarden to soil.

I keep talking about our Aerogardens, but I haven’t posted them in awhile. Got all kinds of stuff growing… few different peppers, some tomatos, patio eggplant and a bunch of herbs n lettuces.

Thats awesome dude keep me posted, I’m sure you will love the double grape. Thats one of my wife’s favorites.

Day 65 on the White Crack
Day 2 on the Double Grape
Day 0 on the Blueberry Cheese

So… We’ve had our first casualty… one of the Sweetberry Coughs stalled out, then I broke its root… then my wife broke it more… all cause we thought it had helmet head. The other one still hasn’t popped. Oh well, still have plenty of them to explore later. Dropped a Blueberry Cheese auto from Barney’s Farm that I got from @killabeez-seedbank as a replacement. It’s supposed to go 75 days from germination.

The double grape popped up super fast! Was a little worried about it at first. The tap root didn’t sink right into the Aerogarden plug and it was getting kinda twisted. Just flipped it around with a toothpick and away the lil sucker went.

Been smoking on some of the white crack and we definitely like it. It’s our favorite flower out of anything we’ve had in the last few years at least. Tastes great, great long lasting high, smooth as hell, and we grew it ourselves to just make it that much better. Gonna give the rest of the plants a bit longer. We already have enough to last a couple weeks just pulling down all the smaller stuff.

Speaking of smoking, does anyone else roll their joints backwards? I learned how to do it years ago from OG1.0, then gave it up as a pain in the ass. Recently the paper started irritating my throat so I started rolling em backwards so there’s only one layer of paper all the way around.

Day 5 on the Double Grape
Day 2 on the Blueberry Cheese

Cut down the back WC on Day 66, front one today. Probably could have went for awhile longer, but we’re impatient and they looked pretty good.

Double Grape is looking good so far. Second set of leaves already coming up. Blueberry Cheese looks meh. It’s having a hard time getting its tap root into the Aerogarden plug. Gonna have to experiment a bit more, but might give up on using it to start seeds.

Day 8 on Double Grape
Day 5 on the Blueberry Cheese

Transplanted into some Pro-mix moisture control potting soil in solo cups. Plan on transferring them into some local made Coots mix, but may not be able to. If not, then we will be feeding with Jack’s 321 and some more basic soil from Walmart. Also threw some Blue Lake green beans, some spinach and a green pepper into some soil while we’re at it. They’ll all end up in 3 gal fabric pots, though we planted the beans directly into the 3 gal so we could space em.

We didn’t get a final weight on the two White Cracks, but it’s around 2oz per plant. Not much of a cure yet, but it tastes nice and is pretty smooth. Burns to white ash. Best smoke we’ve had in a long while. Can’t wait to see what comes of this 2nd round. Hopefully we can get closer to 3-4oz off of this round.

Day 13 on Double Grape
Day 10 on Blueberry Cheese

Roots were popping out the bottom of the Double Grape cup, so both were moved into their final homes. Didn’t have the money to get the coots mix, so we’re in more promix from Walmart. Pretty sure I’m going to have to start adding nutes soon, but we will wait a couple waterings and see what happens. They’re in 3gal fabric pots sitting on the deck of our DWC tub until the green peppers finally get the boot. Hopefully we have less issues this run, but im not counting on it with less than ideal conditions. Really bummed I couldn’t do the coots mix for these.

Anyways, Blueberry Cheese on the left, Double Grape on the right.

Day 18 Double Grape
Day 15 Blueberry Cheese

Both plants are doing well and already have a bit of funk to em. Double Grape more than the Blue Cheese. Also, the side branches are keeping up with the main top on the Double Grape. Really liking that one so far.

The wife got to do some more planting as well. We have 5 healthy bean plants plus a handful of carrot seeds planted in our poor man’s soma bed we put together. Bought a 7 gal tote today and filled the bottom inch or 2 with LECA pebbles, then put some tea bottles with the bottoms cut off in the corners. Finally we filled that somebitch up with more of the promix amended with some basic tomato and veggie dry nutes from the good ole Home Depot.

Nice way to reuse those tea bottles. :+1::recycle:

Day 24 Double Grape
Day 21 Blueberry Cheese

Gave the girls some half strength Jack’s at 6.5pH. Little less than half a gallon each. Haven’t been soaking them down and trying to let em dry out a bit between watering. Double Grape is doing phenomenal, but showing some slight yellowing on the tips. Blueberry Cheese has something going on with its lower leaves and some yellowing. Not sure if it’s where I got the promix on them, or left water spots or what’s going on. Just gonna keep going and hope it doesn’t progress.

Anyone know what exactly is going on with my plants? Newer leaf tips yellowing, older growth is fine. They’re in Promix Moisture Control potting soil. You can see the specs a little ways up in this thread, but mostly just peat. Gave them half strength Jack’s 3-2-1 on their last watering.

Day 28 Double Grape
Day 25 Blueberry Cheese

Gave them both half a gallon of full strength Jack’s 3-2-1. Hoping that fixes whatever is going on. I’m leaning towards magnesium, but im not sure. Hope I don’t screw em up like the last batch. Double Grape took the whole half gallon with no runoff. Blueberry Cheese had about a 1/4 cup runoff.

Been doing some light bandage as well. Really loving the structure of the Double Grape. Can’t wait to see it at the finish. Blueberry Cheese is ok, but I think it’s gonna need some help. Stems are still pretty thin. Also very much more apical dominant than the Double grape.
