Co-op Strain Donations and Breeder Match Ups

I’m hoping for the Durban to produce effects in this direction. How do they compare in your experience?

I picked the Durbin at week 10 and 11. One of the four after a good cure now has an effect that doesn’t make me tired. I think you need to pick these at week 8 or 9. Cannabiogen listed the flowering time at 10 to 14 weeks, so it’s possible something very sativa could pop out. Judging by the looks and descriptions, @lefthandseeds Triple Durban would be a better choice for that very uppity Buzz. But it flowers a bit longer and probably wouldn’t finish Outdoors for you at your latitude. I’m withholding judgment from cannabiogen Durban until I have picked it at the proper time. There are definitely very nice sativa phenos to be found in the line, but I think they are less common now at F4.

Don’t try to guess the winner of the race before it’s over. Sounds like you need to read some of the freaker threads and catch up on what we are really about. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you read the attitudes of the people involved, which happen to be some of the most generous people on Overgrow.

Did you print out any pictures of that one? Did it have the blue color? I’m wondering if maybe cooler nights are required for that color to come out… though I suppose the high would be the same if it didn’t…

I believe Khalifa genetics Balhki is from the same source. Its on chespest on Strainly. Massachusetts Medical had one tested at 25% ( from RSC stock) Im not sure if some American Soldier passed off some seeds to a local which subsequently mixed them up with what was growing there, or if a very careful grower has adopted Western breeding methods and has been selecting only potent plants for a long time, smoking each one to find out. It’s a very high THC percent for a landrace plant. About twice as high as it should normally expected. It’s not impossible that a stellar plant popped out either.

I have stopped growing outdoors when my surroundings changed a bit and suddenly not ~2 people had a chance to spot it but a lot more. For bud I have to rely on my little indoor space. I will see if I can manage yours indoors before I pick up more. :seedling:

Indoors you will do well with them. I don’t know how big hunting is in Europe, or if you have a local shop that would Supply urine from your local wild dogs, whether they are foxes or coyotes or whatever you have there. This urine works very well to repel any animal these dogs would hunt. I have found that a copper collar works well for Slugs, and makes coyotes hear suspicious of a trap, and they avoid stepping on the plants because of it, though I have seen prints all around them. Every time you visit the plants, take a leak there. The animals have learned to avoid the smell of humans. The animal urine gets placed on a cotton ball, which is then put in a Ziploc bag to protect it from rain, using a stick or toothpick to keep the zip lock open to allow the smell out. Hopefully with those couple precautions you don’t have any issues. Going to your spot around 30 days in advance and digging in some some blood or bone meal will get all the vegetarians in the area think that a massacre has taken place here. They will be afraid to visit the area. . I wish there were equal measures to discourage humans. Always take a different way into your plants, being careful not to squash short vegetation, break branches, etcetera. Keep your feet low when you walk and try to move your foot in between the plants. Rather than Breaking vegetation, use a stick to push it out of your way as you go through, again, being very careful not to break it. Use obvious animal Trails when available and never leave footprints or tools of the trade, watering cans excetera. Camouflage your hole after you prep it with the vegetation you removed before digging it. You can do this! You got it

Here’s the main thread.

Here’s a semi-current strain list.

If you can’t find anyone to run it, stop by and check out the Freaks. Landraces are one of our things.
:guitar:

I should add that there will be a signup sheet posted after the runs, and those seeds will go into the Spring/Fall boxes. Any excess seeds will go to @Sebring for distribution through his site. :v:

Very nice of you to offer! Is that an Iranian landrace? An Iranian Autoflower? Very fast flowering if that’s the one I’m thinking of.

I had 3 gifted to me. They where bagseed from the dispensary. They all where light in color and not far enough along to germinate. I assumed they where herm seed but may have been wrong. Where did these you have come from?

@So-ilgrower There’s a thread for exactly this situation. I’m gunna move this whole chain over, I think it will help you find someone.

Since people seem to be commenting about The Freaker’s here instead of on The Freaker’s threads I just want to give here a bit of background info on how it was started. The Freaker’s Collective was born from an act of generosity by @Guitarzan. A group of 20 of us decided to go in on two very rare landrace or heirloom varieties, with the cost of $900. Guitarzan made the order for everybody putting his money out up front. For buying so many seeds from snow High, Guitarzan was given somewhere around 20 additional varieties. Instead of keeping quiet and hoarding them, or acting like he already had them, he decided to make this open to the whole group of 20, and was trying to figure out a way they could all be shared amongst the group. I had been looking to give away landrace seeds for the last year , and was Desiring more success and a better way to do it, and Guitarzan’s generosity inspired me to donate my entire collection to be grown and multiplied and spread around overgrow, once he had come up with an idea to form a collective. Very soon, others were adding landraces and heirlooms from their collections. I had been thinking along the same lines myself. Through many different chats and messages, a core group of The Freaker’s came up with a way that we feel will best accomplish this goal. I hope everybody will sit back and watch rather than trying to guess what’s going to happen. Again, I will say everyone is going to be pleasantly surprised, and there’s about to be a lot more landraces and heirlooms floating around OG land. I’ll stake my reputation on that.

It was too early in flower when I chopped her for any color. Nice structure, and will definitely try again. Pretty sure it was my light leak that promoted the male flowers but of course they can happen on the landrace/heirlooms.

Here is a shot of the female right before I cut her down.

Did you top it late, or are the side branches naturally that long? So far, the Indian varieties I have seen have incredible branching when they come from the tropical regions of that country. Looks like you were able to control the height quite well. Didn’t get far enough along for you to experience its potency? 16 to 20 weeks flowering is the recommended time. Supposed to be a very invigorating variety… I see. That was the only one you grew correct? Hermaphrodites are a pisser. Makes me appreciate the work that goes into getting varieties of sativas that aren’t fussy about being grown indoors or in a pot.
