Dendro's Outdoor Grow 2022

Well, following the well-put wisdom in the post you made, I am leaving out the buds I jarred after a week of dry for a more thorough drying out. They are not stem snapping, like the 2 week ones. It was an experiment, after all. Too dry, not good. Too damp, also not good. I’ve now seen the hay smell come from either of those two situations.

Love your harvest pics.

I’m going to continue drying the ones I jarred too early, and will just dry from now on to stem snap, which seems to take about 2 weeks in my cabinet. The buds I dried for 2 weeks are much better smelling, and a very pleasurable smoke last night.

Advanced degrees and science are my friends for sure. But you guys are certainly right, it doesn’t replace common sense or intuition.

Appreciate the info @ShiskaberrySavior, taking a brake between these fields, if this grow goes well and there is a lot of flower to store, I might just have to try that route. The jars do brake from time to time and they end up taking up alot of space, but in their defense, the old school dark honey colored ones are perfect for keeping all trichs, terps, etc. intact. Im sure down the road Ill be grabbing one if I ever get something thats gonna last past a month or two…lol…I’ve been trying to slow down, all the hash making took my tolerance up way too high, and if I eat edibles I get a very rare reaction that some people think is a myth…CHS…I never thought it was real, but over the last two years or so, Ive started to change my mind. Anyone heard of it or had a similar reaction? Extreme nausea and gastrointestinal reactions that are so severe, I though I was dying…then I had an emergency appendectomy to further confuse things so I guess the jury is still out, but I haven’t been eating any cannabis for awhile and have been symptom free for a couple months now…I am pretty upset about the possibility of having this mysterious problem that might be because of bud. Not cool, but if it is real, I think people need to be aware
Btw, if anyone can give me confirmation whether those links work? Im guessing it might only work for me or for someone who already has soundcloud downloaded?

Awesome :ok_hand:…thank you brother
Its been a successful day then, learned something new. Btw, field, if you are leaving buds out for two weeks then your humidity is probably too high in the cabinet, what I use is one of those mesh hangers, I try to keep moderate low humidity but as long as the air is moving fairly well, temps are in upper 60s-with all the dogs we have a lot of hair in the house, no amount of cleaning gets it all, So the mesh bags sold online or grow shops help me, they leave a flat spot but it doesn’t bother me, I rotate them every couple of hours, I also have been washing my flower in a big bucket of cold water with a small amount of the regular 3% hydrogen peroxide, then rinse of in another bucket of room temp plain water, you can smell the nastiness coming out and seem a dirty gleam in the water, obviously dont use hot water, but once one trys washing their weed, you wont go back to literally dusty dirty buds again. Its alittle bit of extra work that separates the good from the great, no worries on trichs falling off, just be gentle and dunk them buds! Give em a swirl and let em drip dry, then I lay them, not me, lol, down on a damp paper towel to further drain out as I trim listening to these sweet jams…thanks for the conformation brother, I bet Im ocd, and not knowing something drives me crazy! I like how I can just listen to the app while I type, I used to shut everything down like a newb and now Im in a whole new world here! Diggin it. Hope some of this info helps or is new at least to someone. I was afraid to wash my buds too. Give em a whirl, you’ll be glad you did, the little bit of h202 helps safely sanitize the flower abit and once properly dried, helps with PM. I guess that in a nutshell, drying out the herb as slow as possible and at a precisely high enough humidity all with just enough air flow as to not end up rotting the product is the goal here. So many ways to skin this cat. The information found on this site shared by all these passionate folks is still amazing to me every time I look around. Always room for improvement and always willing to hear different, quit possibly easier better ways to get her done. So greatful for all of you. Hope life is sweet today

Got some quick picks before I get back out there to finish this grass…about this close :point_right: I…to convincing my boss aka ladyfriend aka Joan to get some goats out there, I love the john deere and all this mowing but a man can only take so much…lol…Ive got a grand design on a four paddock style enclosure, rotating goats, sheep, or the like with chickens, will have to figure out a way to get a garden in there too without the goats eating it. Till then, I mow… garden is lookin top notch today, despite the heat, storms coming next couple of weeks though, getting ready for the insane mountain weather, no more trimming, nothing, I need these girls strong to get through the storms! About to breakbout some almost two year old flowering compost thats been brewing in a closed bin, I think its finally ready, gonna try a little handfull around the trunks to see how they like…thought about @webeblzr aka Obi-Wan when with the pups earlier…thankfully they are happy canines, breaks my heart to hear about such ignorant lazy people who get “pets” but cant even take care of themselves properly…Ive got my issues…Im tryin not to judge, cruel to animals, I am not. Hopefully they will change their ways before karma shows up…lucky man has you for a nice time, sure he is grateful to have you for now, Saintly work you are doing my friend

Baumead actin a fool this morning as well…

I really appreciate your wisdom, I’ve always been good with animals but now I really try to keep calmer at all times and never stress them out more than they already get, one of the coolest thongs about sharing ones life with others, as you here and learn more from the people your opening up too, its like you take them with you as you go about your day, for we are all connected, no? Making “contact” only increases that connection, negative or positive, we are forever changed. Living the positive vibes you all bring to the table here. Going out to finish thos work up and then looking forward to hearing from yall some more and try and get back to some of the good conversation we have going…

Joan showed up with “the head”…silly girl…lol…she’s starting a rock/lawn ornament garden right next to our fancy neighbors…Im sure they’ll just love it! Pics coming soon…Thanks for reading, will be back after these messages…

That looks like a great day, Dendro!

Nice harvest and doggies. I used to have one, passed away about 10 years ago and haven’t gotten another. Got a little girl now, which is a handful and amazing. Certainly training daddy more than the other way around.

I think the cabinet should be good to go at 60/60 for about 10 days. There’s lots of knobs to tweak, the main one, circulation speed, will affect my dry rate. It’s set very low right now just so I didn’t have the reverse problem - drying to fast. The 2 weeks stuff is definately dry but I hadn’t really opened the cabinet to know when they got there. I’ve got another auto almost ripe so that’ll be another few ounces to test before I put in some real weight (hopefully at least). Anyway, the environment is controlled, so it can’t really get worse leaving it in there longer, but I’d like to seal the terps up at the right moment. I’ll check more frequently on this next run.

Speaking of which, it’s super awesome to have staggered plant finishes like is happening so I can experiment and see the results as the next things are coming across the finish line. Autos are really a fantastic thing for this home cultivation movement. People invested a lot of time and effort into making these as good as they are, along with nature.

I bud washed with just the lemon juice/baking soda this last time, but have used the H2O2. Just didn’t feel I needed it with the early harvest and total lack of caterpillars/rain during the harvest, so I wasn’t worried about rot or PM.

I’ll probably use it on this next harvest, next weekend or the one after that, because this girl is STACKING. At least more than I’ve ever seen in person. She smells glorious, like a mix between an evergreen forest and citrus grove - dense and sticky too. Whenever she’s ready, I am.

Made some salsa today from the garden, the tomatoes really struck me as a beautiful color. The only things not from the yard are the garlic and onion (but maybe next year). Loving it. This is the first year I’ve really had a complete garden.

Last year: Few bagseed cannabis plants, some ghost peppers, watermelon and squash. This year: Shit, everything. Tomatoes (Roma and Beefsteak), watermelons, green chiles, ghost peppers, jalapenos, yellow squash, green squash, pumpkin, tons of cannabis, new fruit trees, tobacco, corn. I spent several weekends cleaning up the yard and building the vegetable beds, ammending soil. There’s been some tough lessons, like the alien demon bugs, but it’s fantastic to eat and smoke straight from the garden. It’s almost like something grew in me  It’s probably the healthiest hobby I’ve had so far.

Cheers, guys!

Note your post of the statue head is above the track with a stone face on the album cover

Hey Dendro, well my newest best friend got back to his family last evening!!
They had sent a text, when close to our house.
He gets so excited, we wanted to great them outside, as he will leak a bit, upon first contact.
They asked us how bad he was concerning his food bowl. I just looked at them, like WTF are you talking about!
He waited for food, like all I work with do, he had no issue when I remove his bowl as he is eating. I had my daughters dog for the first day or 2, to help me, they both ate their food, a few feet apart. No growling, no looks, nothing…nor when my wife fed them, and I was out scooting about on errand runs.
Well did he rage at the front windows?
Again, I’m gob smacked, as the wee dude was super respectful, at our window. Hell, I even opened the drapes for him, as they do not have much traffic, but we live on a busy road, and he would look like a ping pong ball enthusiast, as his head would back and forth watching traffic, walking folks, just stuff going by!! Never once barked, just watched.
Did he tear up any cushions?
No, but he grabbed one, as we were playing, but it was a playful, come chase me, kind of action. I barked, using gruff voice, he dropped it, and ignored them after that.
His lessons for me, to stay focused on his well being, and not feel sorry for him.
To, keep positive and upbeat as he was struggling to find level, as he never faced anyone but his fam, and was never left anywhere before this.
He taught me to persevere, and not give in to failure, and just refocus, and restart, and give them, unconditional love, as he comes to terms with his new reality.
He was such a ball of joy, after we got through the humanizing, and to see him find dog again, was just delicious!!
Your a good man Dendro, I really enjoy your thread and work.
If I’m ever out for ride down your way, I’d like to burn some offerings to the gods with ya!! All the best to ya, webe.

Jeez, sittin at the car dealership all damn day, been wanting to say whats up but just haven’t got a peaceful moment yet, its days like this where I realize how spoiled I am out on the farm and to have your guys support on something that most people will never understand or ever want to. Hoping to find the time to put together a decent post sometime today and respond to everyone from over the last couple days. Had typed up a few words and accidentally sent it before it was done so taking a break until I get in a more relaxed setting. All is well here and I pray that you are all safe and having a great day so far. Live it up and let live!
Oh and hell yeah @webeblzr I would be honored to have you and yours as well as all of the good fam here over to meet the pups and the rest of the clan. Burning one for the gods sounds like it needs to be done, gotta offer up a few sacrifices to keep this world turning and breaking some bread with new roots of this tree just amplifys the effect. Lets do it!
Ok, finally, these folks just finished up the paperwork, homeward bound :raised_hands:
For all you Rebels out there…time to spark one up!

Sooo good to be back home and with the dogs. Tired as hell but relaxing and was able to get some cool photos of the day. Been rereading some of the posts here and its amazing and comforting how similar we all are. I want to go back and address every topic but theres been alot said, I hope nobody feels that Ive forgotten about them or “ghosted” someone as the kids say…I really appreciate yalls contributions to this thread and all the support. This has already been alot more fun than I was prepared for. I had been on another site under a different name for a good year and a half or so and though I ended up meeting one or two good people and had a couple of real conversations here and there, the vibe there was just really serious and alot of showboating and one uppers. Forgive me if that attitude has rubbed off on me. Im trying to shake any negative spells that were attached
Great looking plant FieldEffect! I love autos too. Tbh, Im working on some new blood as we type. As far as I understand, a good auto just needs to carry the autoflowering gene but the rest or a lot of the visble, observable traits can be all photo-period quality. Ive only grown out Mephisto autos and have a nice little collection of their work but Im in the process of producing my own male/female beans atm. Im with you, autos have gained popularity so fast that alot of people haven’t been able to give them a chance, maybe they did and had bad results, but my experience has been great. Very soon, if we already dont, we will have full size autoflowering plants with just as much terps and other goodies as the photos. Not having to worry about a light cycle opens the door for so many more people, smaller size for some if needed but Im trying to make some big autos with the beans we made this summer, Im hopeful that with alittle luck and maybe a hand from one or two of yall someday, we could get something going? Definitely came here hoping to meet some open minded people possibly willing and able to collaborate on a project or two…Im not worried about how much experience one has or doesnt have, or their past transgressions, just the ability to be honest. Thats it. Always continuing to at least try and work on that myself.

Toby here or Benjamin Button as I like to call him, hes like 14 years old but you’d never know it unless I told you, was hanging out with me in the garden this evening…

He’s half Puggle, half Shar-Pei, so a real mutt…lol… and he did not like me one bit when Joan and I moved in together. He had a brother then, but Big boy is no longer with us, it was when he passed that Toby realized I might not be so bad after all. I have to keep Baumead and Toby separated, they will fight to the death, no shit. Im sure Webe is raising his eyebrows at that one…they were good when bo was a pup but once he got bigger, I dont think he ever forgot about Toby and Bigboy teasing him, at a certain point, they just couldnt be around each other. Wonder what our resident canine whisperer has to say about that…

Good afternoon OGs…Many thanks for the interest and support, Im preparing to be either very overwhelmed or really let down come harvest as these are certainly bigger than any plants Ive done before and I know they still have a ways to go. Im always worried about proper support for the branches, so have just been adding more poles and tomato cages to attach to as we go. To answer ShiskaberrySaviors question, there are three cannabis plants in the garden. The biggest one by itself is a clone of Snowfire Kush(Digital) and the other tall one is also a clone(first clones for me) of Don Johnson(Freak), the short one is from seed(I thought she would be the tallest but she stayed very low without being topped) she is Ginger Grant(Brisco’s), haven’t grown her before and have no idea the genetics. Ive done what research I can on these but cant find anything on the ginger. Im going to be clearing the vines out by mid flower or possibly sooner, I promised Momma some tomatoes and cucumbers so once shes happy, I can remove all this to help fatten those buds…

They haven’t even hit the full stretch yet and there getting closer to the 8 foot fence every day, they are cleared out fairly well inside and just letting them go for the most part, but they are extremely vigorous and Ive seen no reason not to keep shaping them up as they go. Here is a shot of the garden bed, just added a new layer of organic fuel(compost, rotting mulch, an old bucket of used indoor mix, a couple tablespoons of gauno, bone meal, and kelp extract) the watermelon and squash are sucking the bed dry, not to mention the cannabis…

Been going much more natural this year and enjoying the cheap yet extremely productive results. Hope all is well with everyone
